Crowne Plaza Concord/Walnut Creek

2÷13÷16 Had the power go out. Because of my own doing called down to the desk. Had Miguel come to the room had the power on in 10. Mins. crown plaza has the best maintenance with Miguel on there team.

Miguel was excellent help! Stayed and fixed my air unit that been out for a few days! Real knowledgeable. He even went above and beyond to try and service me for the inconvenience but sadly the upper management shot it down smh! That part sucked that I didn’t get compensated for the inconvenience. But the handy man was GREAT!!!

Wonderful hotel. I travel weekly and choose to stay at IHG properties 90% of the time. I have stayed in Crowne Plaza’s all over the country and this one ranks in my top 2. Great location, great layout, wonderful restaurant and bar.
Hotel is very clean as are the rooms. The staff was great also. Will stay here on all my nocal trips in the future.

I’m giving this property 5 stars solely based on the excellent customer service from the front desk ladies, Dimpy and Katherine. I came into the hotel to inquire about renting one of the rooms for a party. Katherine was very knowledgable about all of the spaces available to rent, how many people they held and she even knew their square footage. I was very impressed and I’m very pleased that I chose the Plaza for my sister in laws upcoming bridal shower. They treated me the best out of all the other local hotels in the neighborhood, that I had inquired with before stopping in the Plaza. 5s for those two ladies!

I stayed here some time ago, and recently found pictures I took of my stay and realized I never wrote a review. I arrived fairly late after a flight into CA from NYC. I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite (room 999) that was quite amazing. I was bummed I was only staying there 1 night. It had a little balcony that overlooked the interior of the hotel, and the room itself was huge! It was the first hotel that I ever saw that had the iHome with lightning cable charger!
This is a unique hotel, one of those ones with interior gardens & ponds, and they had a ton of fish! I thought it was pretty unique, and I would stay here again if I was going back to the area!

An unstable 3 stars on Unilocal?Nooooooo… Please…Noooooo!
This was another Priceline bid I craftily made, or so I thought, successfully getting a room for significantly below market price about a week before our trip. Score!
But after reading Unilocal,what the heck was going on with all those one and two star reviews? Should I panic? I conjured up visions of something the equivalent to a run down Red Roof hotel with disinterested management and visitors of questionable character oozing out of their rooms.
That was not what I found. Our experience was completely positive. The swift and friendly check-​in set the stage. A good look around the large public areas revealed a gorgeous, much higher end hotel that obviously catered to a better than average customer base. It was beautiful and calming with its indoor tropical theme, palm trees, water fall, koi pond, bistro dining area with patio umbrellas, even a little putting green. Too bad there were no miniature golf-​like little windmill structures and bridges that raised and lowered. That would have got me going!
Our first floor room was spacious, very conservatively, tastefully decorated, everything clean and in operating condition, the beds good, lots of fluffy pillows. We had a newish microwave, coffee maker, small refrigerator, good quality TV, decent table setup for our lap top, and one small upholstered chair for seating. The bathroom offered plenty of room to move around, the towels were soft. There were even special touches like the extra good smelling designer soap and shampoo, and delightful packet that held classy spa themed lotions and fragrance. It was quiet. It seemed quite the opposite of what I anticipated.
The parking area backed up to the little Concord airport, but there was not even a hint of noise. If anything, perhaps the hallway could have been vacuumed better, but the day we checked in there (Sunday) there clearly had been a mass exodus after the Thanksgiving holiday. And yep, there was a small mold stain in the shower. It did not put the fear of god in my heart. How about just giving that sucker a little spritz with some mold killer, hotel housekeeping guys!
I am not overlooking these faux pas, but I could not for the life of me categorize this as a one or two star experience. And would I rather pay the same and get a Motel 6 room? Hell no.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

While I appreciate your reply to my review, your response (format letter; thank you for your review we are taking the appropriate steps) is as lacking in customer service as is your edtablishment. One would think that given the fact that the Guild members of St. Mary’s church in Walnut Creek have been booking their annual holiday breakfast for many years a more personal response would have been your choice.
I have already drafted a letter to corporate and the contacted the Hilton who is more than happy to have our group next year. So your hollow promises of making it right and taking steps are not wanted or required. I plan on using social media to inform possible customers of what kind of service they can expect from you and your staff.

If I could give this hotel a negative 5 stars I would!
Our family checked in for the Thanksgiving holiday with our family pet, a 20lb golden doodle. We entered the room it was dark, musty, smelled of mold and filthy. This is not an exaggeration! My dog went straight to the bed and pulled out a open can of meat from under the bed. He was going crazy trying to get under the bed, so I took my cell phone flashlight and looked under the bed to reveal dirt, dust balls, old skittles and crushed chips– nasty! The carpet was covered in black stains. I didn’t want to set my personal belongings down or touch anything! The elevator was a rickety, scary box that I felt like we might get stuck in at any moment. When I went downstairs to let the attendant at the front desk know I was checking out because it was disgusting she just said «Sorry I’ll credit your money back to Hotels​.com» without any kind of emotion. She did not seem surprised or even seemed to care. Which tells me this happens a lot. By the way they advertise this hotel as Concord/​Walnut Creek and it’s no where near the town of Walnut Creek– it’s a 10 minute freeway ride down the road. I think they just want to make people think it is a better hotel and worth staying here rather than the much higher end hotels in Walnut Creek. Needless to say our family checked into the Hilton in Concord down the road which was much more accommodating and friendly. So if you are looking to stay in Concord– be advised to stay away from this hotel!

Every other one star reviewer on here is spot on! Here is my experience with the Crowne Plaza Hotel
A few month back my mom stayed here. Her experience was so awful. 1. Her rooms light fixtures, and AC didn’t work 2. Someone from the housekeeping staff stole her pillow (that wasn’t cheap, she’s a cancer patient and requires a special pillow) 3. She specifically asked to leave a cash deposit rather than the hotel holding up several dollars on her credit card (she left a cash deposit and was still charged on her card) we complained to hotel staff and Justin the manager offered to try and make it right by giving my mom a complimentary night stay for a future date. She wasn’t satisfied with that but they weren’t offering anything else so she didn’t turn it down. My mom lives in Oregon so she gave me and my husband the free night stay for us to use on a date night. I am literally disgusted with this hotel! OUR complimentary room is NOT what I would have ever expected to stay in after my moms experience. I expected there to be functioning lights, a clean bathroom and a smoke detector. Our bathroom had mold growing on the tiles and in the tub, pur ceiling has a hole in it with exposed wires where a smoke detector should be. The heater doesn’t work either!

10. debris litter the floor, does house keeping bother to vacuum the floor?

The staff here was exellent! Very friendly and efficient. We reserved our room 2 weeks before & had no problems.
Babe and i booked in for a little get away.
The room was very clean & neat Like a normal hotel. The bed was very comfortable the pillows too. Our window view was nice, we were rigtt above the pool & jacuzzi, and i really liked that.
Although they put us next to the elevator and it made noise all night. my boyfriend had a hard time sleeping, but The staff was kind enough to give us complimentary breakfast. Wich is why i give 4 stars and not 3. If they hadnt put us next to the noise, easy 5 star because of the great staff.

These unprofessional jokers sold the room out from under us after we had prepaid in full on Priceline. Not cool at any time, but especially after we’d come to town for a family funeral after a 12-​hour travel day. Their outrageously lame excuse: A group wanted to stay an extra night. Earth to Crowne Plaza manager: Tell them NO!

Moral of story: In Concord, stay at the Hilton. Period.

Quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Paper thin walls so you can’t sleep, they sold my room after I had prepaid it, a lovely surprise and then kids keeping me up partying all week.
This is the anti business person hotel

Hotel room accommodation is fine but their wireless Internet service is incredibly spotty bordering on useless for a business traveler like me. Complained first day, said an engineer would come to my room to look at it, no show. Went to front desk to tell them wireless signal was spotty. Front desk they would send someone to check my computer. I told them call their provider bc it’s not just my laptop but my iPad and cell phone as well… weak and spotty service. Came back after dinner… No change, same problem. Frustrating to try and get my emails and work done.
Day 3, despite an apology and explanation that the problem wouldn’t be repeated from Justin, problem of spotty Wi-​Fi service continued today frustrating me once more. Thank God I’m getting out of here tomorrow. This Crowne Plaza is nowhere near a 3.5 star property worthy for business travelers. Justin, apologies are only as good as your word and your word sucks!

Stayed here just for one night this weekend. The room was quiet and comfortable, the bed was clean. There was a weird red stain on the floor that looked like spilled nail polish but I guess unless they rip up a whole carpet you can’t fix that. It didn’t bother me. Bathroom was small but clean as well, nice shampoos and stuff.
We did stop by the Vineyards bar for a quick drink but it was whatever. The bartender was monosyllabic, the drinks were ok. We took our wine back to our room and that was more relaxing.
Can’t comment on the pool since we didn’t go but the atrium area was really pretty. Ph, and free parking!
All in all, we would stay here again.

This is my 6^th time staying in this hotel since 2015 and every time I tell myself it will get better. But it never does. Rooms are expensive for an old out of date hotel. Bathrooms are tiny and poorly laid out. The restaurant service SUCKS and room service is even worse. Be prepared to wait over an hour for a bowl of soup.
Will not be coming here any longer. The Holiday Inn express on the other side of town is much nicer for cheaper

Nice hotel. Pet friendly! It was different seeing numerous dogs all throughout the hotel.
Both nights there were special events being hosted. Great courtyard with an excellent layout.
The restaurant service could have been better. I had to get up to ask for service and to order a meal. I did come towards closing time, so they were wrapping things up.
Overall I like the hotel. Doesn’t look like much from outside, but the common area and rooms are well kept.

My family and I called to check in pretty late. So we arrive to the hotel around 11pm. And the front desk lady was pretty alright bit she rarely made eye contact with us as we checked in. For 4 people, we were put in a room with ONE king bed. We asked for 2 queen beds but they were all sold out.
My mom asked for the extra beds that they just rolled in, but then they turned out to be sold out too. The front lady told us that they would just bring extra blankets to the room.
As we went up to the room, I mean the lobby made us think that this hotel was really nice and maybe the room might be big. But as we got into the room it was pretty small. My brother went to take a shower and there was no shampoo and conditioner anywhere.
I decided to call to the shampoo and condition as well as the blankets the front lady told us.
GUESS WHAT. They ran out of extra blankets too. Great. But at least this place got us shampoo and conditioner.
Well. I don’t think my family will come here anymore after this weekend.

Good customer service but the maintenance/​facilities cleaning crew need work. did not do a good job cleaning rooms found 2 bugs (looked like bed bugs on my kids bed… we immediately called guest service. They were very accommodating but at this point we just wanted to go home… we finally made it home at 2 the morning. Mind we had a big party for my nieces 18^th bday…
We will never come back here again.

This reveiw is based solely upon the super awesomeness customer service from Susan Jensen. When the group I’m a member of has an event at a restaurant, I’d like to get an idea what I’m going to order ahead of time, so that when I’m at the resturant I can be prepared for how much money I need to bring, also I’m really, totally, super CHEAP. Susan obviously understands what customer service is, the hotel website doesn’t show the breakfast menu, so what did Susan do? Well, because she super rocks she emailed me the breakfast menu. I hope the group will get great customer service when we eat at the restaurant. Susan is the catering manager at the hotel. I look forward to eating here soon.
