HVAC Service Heating & Air Conditioning

Please note: this is a review from someone who never got service from here. They just chose to ignore my calls for a heating emergency. Who knows, they might have give great service, if they actually return a promised phone call.
I actually call them this past Saturday night. It was chilly, we turned the furnace on… Poof… Nothing.
So, I look them up on Unilocal.Good reviews with a few bad goods added, plus a Unilocal deal. I gave them a call, the at about 6 pm.
I know, 6pm on a Saturday, who’s going to come out, well, they did. They woman, I assume their receptionist, answers and I told her I need someone out here. She assured me someone will call me back in 15 mins. Half hour to 45 mins later, no calls from them. I figured maybe they wrote the number down wrong, it happens.
So, I called them again. They got the number correct, got my name and address correct, and was told they will call me back in 10 mins.
I even asked if this is something they don’t do, as in services on a Saturday night. I was told by the receptionist that they do and I would just be ok calling another company if they is not part of their services. They again assured me someone WILL call me in 10 mins. Well, unless their definition of 10 mins is never, then they got it wrong as I am still waiting to be called 5 days later.

Relatives were looking for hvac company so I went on Unilocal & noticed the companies positive reviews. They made an appt and their technician (Ninef) was on time and very professional. He gave them a few tips and also took care of the problem. My relatives were very pleased with his service & give him and the company 5 stars. We will recommend one hour to all our friends and family! Thank you :)

Tony was very good, He answered my phone everytime I called. Nice and repaired my HVAC quickly.

Tony from HVAC came out on Sunday morning and did a fantastic job of immediately diagnosing the issue, quickly fixing the problem, and honoring the coupons I had. When I initially called on Saturday morning, I had a lot of trouble with their answering service getting their wires crossed with their technicians. However, Tony called me back and made it right. He even pointed out an issue that is in the horizon that I should look at (without charging me extra or telling me I had to fix it right now). Great service!

I would stay away from using this company. They will overcharge you on every portion of the job and try to get you to purchase their service package which is not worth the cost. Lastly they will go back on their word we had a capacitor replaced which they overcharged us for which was not the problem when I called Tony back and asked for a refund he had to make a call and then called me back saying he would do it and come out the next day. He called back later that night and said he could no longer come or tomorrow and will come out later. Well 3 weeks go by and I called him back and he is now going back on his word and telling me he can’t do it and that he never got approval. I would do everything in your power to stay away from this company unless you don’t mind paying way to much and don’t care if nothing gets fixed. I have also requested a call back from a supervisor twice and I have yet to receive a call back.

Charged me (both labor and visit fee) to come back and fix original work.

After my initial meeting with HVAC Service I had really high hopes and thought these guys were going to be my HVAC go to company. However, it did not pan out this way whatsoever.
Initial estimate meeting — This was the initial meeting I thought I found the go to company. Alberto was friendly, punctual, and knowledgeable. I asked some very basic questions and Alberto was able to explain the why’s and why not’s of each of my questions. Overall I felt really comfortable with Alberto and was extremely impressed.
Then it goes all downhill…
Alberto said they were busy but could either install on the upcoming Saturday. We were going to be out of town and said unfortunately that day did not work. He then proposed the upcoming Tuesday as a possible solution, but just had to confirm with another appointment. I said great. I will review the estimate and call your office to confirm I want to move forward with the install.
Within 1-​hour of Alberto leaving (probably more like 30 minutes) I called the office to confirm I wanted to move forward with the install and to please confirm that Tuesday will be the install day. The lady on the phone said that she will get in touch with Alberto and call me back. This was on a Friday.
On Monday I had not received a call from HVAC Service so I called to follow up. The lady on the phone said they were not able to secure a crane for Tuesday and that the install would not be taking place. Fine, no problem I understand.
Two weeks go by and no phone call from HVAC Service regarding install date, or any update at all. I call them to check in to see if they have put me on the schedule and when I can expect to have the AC installed. You can tell by the discussion I had with the lady on the phone that they completely forgot about me and have not scheduled anything. She says she needs to get in contact with the owner because she has no idea on the availability of the crane. I was told that she would call me back by the end of the day with an update. Surprise, surprise, no phone call.
I call to follow up at the end of the next day and she said that she has not been able to get in touch with the owner. By this time, I am starting to get frustrated because I am starting to get the run around. I question her if I am even on the schedule or if they attempted to schedule a crane. She says they are extremely busy and that she does not know. So I say, basically I have waited over 2 weeks and you have not put me on the schedule and I am at the end of the install line. No answer. I tell her to talk to her boss and find out what is happening, and I will think about what direction I want to move in at this point.
Monday the following week, no phone calls, or follow up. I call to get an update and am told that they cannot install my system because they don’t have time. I ask what does that mean, one year? One week? Until the end of summer they say. What does that mean I ask? They say at the end of September. I say thank you for wasting 1 month of my time.
How could they have served me better without serving me?
1. Be honest and let me know as soon as possible that the install was going to be delayed and probably not happen until the end of summer. Don’t waste a month of my time. I could have reached out to a different company in the time I was waiting for them.
2. Communicate! the thing that upsets me the most is I was the one making all the calls to them. Not once did they ever call me to say we have not forgot about you, or this is what is happening.
3. Provide recommendations on other contractors who could have helped me once they realized they were too busy.
I am pretty disappointed it came to this review because I really liked this company and wanted to do work with them. It is a family run business, and reminded me of the HVAC business my dad owned.
Beware once you are the one that has to start calling them for updates, or to follow up; your time is probably best served by calling a different contractor.

Tony was very good — appointment took a while to book, but that’s understandable, since they have built a great business and have lots of people calling them.
Tony came this Sunday morning, and once he saw the HVAC unit, knew exactly what the issue was — fixed it in under 20 mins, and my AC was back to normal
Pricing is fair — parts, labor and diagnostic fee and tax
I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing his services. He’s honest, very nice to deal with even made my toddler son smile.
5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

HVAC was a referral by our friends, and I do have to say it was GREAT referral. Alberto was awesome. He came to our house to service our AC, he was very honest in what needed to be done. We went with what he said to do and now we can actually enjoy using our ac as it blows out cold air instead of warm. He is very efficient and knowledgeable in his work (my 1 year old even wanted to help him when he checked to filter :-)). I would highly recommend this company to friends and family for services and I will be using them again in the future. Thank you Alberto!!! you saved us from the heat!

Tony was amazing. We called on Thursday evening and he was able to come the next afternoon. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and honest. He had our A/​C up and running in less than an hour with one simple fix. Tony will now be our go to guy. I highly recommend this company especially Tony!

This is the second time I used HVAC for my ac/​heating services. The tech Tony D. informed me about issues I need to repair and things I do not need. In the process, he saved me $ 400. He serviced my cooling/​heating system and educated me on thing I can do to save money through the year.
I am impressed with his professionalism and courteous. He even cleaned up after himself. I will definitely recommend and use HVAC again.

I awoke to a smoky smell from my heater and called HVAC service Heating & Air. I called HVAC and I was given an appointment that afternoon. Their technician arrived promptly and was totally knowledgeable and courteous. He had the new motor and starter on his truck and after a total replacement I now have my morning heat back!
I would use them over n over and they were very competitive in their pricing.

HVAC services is our go to contractor when it comes to our HVAC needs. Back in 2013, we were dealt some unforeseeable home projects, as our HVAC was failing and needed to replace the whole system, e.g. Furnace, Blower, A/​C, Condenser, Vents, etc… We reached out to a few HVAC companies (Contra Costa Heating and Air, EP builders, High Performance Heating and Air) so we could compare the bids for the job. We have had some issues with past contractors and after thoroughly screening a few of the above mentioned HVAC contractors, we awarded the bid to HVAC services because of their superior customer service and very reasonable pricing.
From Day 1, Alberto walked us through the process, and present us with a variety of options based our budget for the project. His customer service is the best as he did not oversell any services and did not nudge us towards buying a unit that would stretch our budget. On installation day, HVAC Services sent out a crew of 6 – 7 guys, all of whom were very polite and kept their work areas clean, and installed the whole system the same day.
Although it’s been 2 years since we have had the HVAC system installed, HVAC Services continues to provide great customer services, coming out semi-​annually to check on the HVAC system and adjusting the airflow within the house.
Definitely recommend them!!!

I am very satisfied with this company work. My dryer didn’t work because of the clogged vent, so I scheduled a service appointment. Tony arrived on time and quickly established that my dryer vent installation is wrong. Someone did very poor job on it in the past. He went an extra mile trying to fix it for me, despite this whole system must be re-​built anyway sooner or later. He also gave me a good advise on how it should be done properly, explained all kinds of options to me. I highly recommend Tony as a good professional and just a nice guy to talk to:)

Tony did an excellent job for me. He immediately pinpointed the problem to the igniter in the gas furnace and replaced it. Very good service.
I appreciate his quick approach and also explaining what he was doing as I observed his work.

Fast forward 1 year and 1 week and the circuit board that HVAC Service had installed has failed again. They came out and said that it failed from water condensation dripping onto it, so we needed to replace it and reroute the pipes to prevent future water damage. That would cost double what I paid last year. Why didn’t they fix the problem last year at the initial repair instead of putting in a circuit board that was bound to fail again?!? They were strongly recommending that the furnace be completely replace for a huge fee to avoid the same thing happening again. I paid $ 59 for them to tell me they didn’t fix it right last year. This didn’t feel right, so I sought a second opinion.
I’m very glad that I found another guy to come replace the circuit board and put it away from the water, fix the water leak, and also find and fix another impending failure. All of that was for much less than HVAC Service wanted to charge for repair or replacement. The other guy did a great repair, so I’m confident it will not break down again, but if it does, I will not call HVAC Service. Don’t get suckered by their Unilocal Deal.

I’ll give props to HVAC Service for being available quickly and having Saturday and Sunday appointments. Tony fixed our air conditioner and was professional.
So why only 2 stars? Because we sent the receipt into our homeowner association to see if we could get reimbursed for some costs, and the property manager said that we paid THREE times more than we should have. We got conned.
I advise you to call HVAC Service, but also shop around and get other estimates. Learn from our mistake!

I originally took off one star because of the SNAFU with getting the part ordered. When Alberto called me on the phone he admitted the person had «gotten busy with other things» and apologized. THAT was taking the high road and I was impressed by that. Sadly, for reasons I won’t guess at, Alberto has decided to take the low road in his comments and imply that they got the part as quickly as possible. Well, we called at 2:30 so did someone spend six and a half hours finding the part? That seems very doubtful.
As for the price I think my review was fair in stating what value we got for what I deemed to be a slightly higher price than others might charge. I did not take any stars off for the price, and still am not, but I am taking another star off because of Alberto’s comments, which are deceptive and not the same thing he told me in person. Alberto, I suggest you stick with the high road in the future.

We moved into a new home and had issues with the heating ducts in one of the rooms. We called HVAC based on other Unilocal reviews.
Overall, everyone we dealt with were friendly, professional and knowledgeable: From the people on the phone managing the schedule to the those performing the work in our house.
The day before the scheduled work we asked if additional work could be done (clothes dryer duct cleaning), which they were able to accommodate.
The people working at the house were on time, very polite, took great care to keep the house clean during the entire job and explained everything when they were finished.
I will certainly use HVAC again.

They were quick to come out and diagnose the problem with my furnace, but I thought the estimate of $ 549 a bit high to replace the circuit board. So called around and found Leo’s Appliance in Concord that sells appliance parts and the circuit board was only $ 90.49 — that is the retail cost to me, so I imagine the wholesale cost is a lot less. So BEWARE of this company since they wanted $ 500!!! to replace the circuit board which is located right in the front of the furnace — extremely easy to access. I hate it that you cannot trust repair companies.
So if money is not a concern for you give them a call as they very prompt and professional and others have been happy with their service
