Laundermutt Professional Pet Grooming and Self Wash is a owner operated one stop shop for your pets grooming needs! We specialize in non-​stress, easy to care for pet clips as well as thoro de-​sheading brush outs and baths. We take great pride in providing a comfortable «down home» place to bring your furry friends! Our goal is to provide gentle and kind grooming at a fair price. We believe that your pets safety and comfort come first. Our groomers take our time, gives breaks, to a ensure good experience as well as a safe one. We always try to accommodate pets needing special handling do to health or behavior issues if arrangements are made in advance. We also offer Self-​Wash private stations for your pet washing convenience! There is never a rush using our self-​wash stations, take your time, help yourself to as many towels and shampoo needed. We are grateful to have served our loyal cliental for the past 16 years and look forward serving all of beloved pet friends in the future!

History

Established in 1997.

I started in the Grooming business at 8 years old. Always loving animals so my parents made arrangements for me to visit a local grooming shop a couple of times a week. The owner took me under her wing and showed me at a young age my way around a grooming shop. I knew at that time I wanted to be a great dog groomer when I grew up… maybe, hopefully even own my own shop! My dream came true in 1997 when I became the owner of Laundermutt. Many years of working as a pet groomer for all kinds of places, from Mom and Pop grooming shops to corporate run grooming establishments. I learned quickly through my experiences what I did and didn’t want to bring to my own grooming shop. I am really proud of what Laundermutt’s gentle/​caring staff have created and our ethical treatment of pets and their people is my dream shop come true.

Over 30 years experience grooming both cats and dogs! Very passionate about providing quality and ethical pet grooming. Currently raises Australian Shepherds. Had 15 years experience raising, showing Abyssinian cats. Enjoys working with pet rescues. Proud of Laundermutt’s long term loyal employees, Sherry, (over 5 years at Laundermutt) and Eve (over 7 years at Laundermutt, hablas espanol?) as well as our new comer Cecilia (6 months on the job!)

Alert Dog Abusers!!! Dog owners should know!!!
If I could give negative stars I sure would. Terrible horrible place. I’d just gotten my 16week old puppy shih tzu and he was in need of grooming and so did my 9year old shih tzu at the time so I scheduled an appt on a Sunday I thought great brought them in at the agreed time and signed my name in. This was no appt my poor dogs were put in a queue with a lone TERRIBLE groomer she caged them for four hours with no water. You don’t put a puppy and an older dog in those conditions!!! How did I know this when I got them they were lethargic and when we got home (2min travel time) they drank water for quite a while. I had to argue with this (Sherry or to that effect) woman just to get my dogs back needless to say I did not allow her to touch my dogs any further I should have called the police she was keeping them hostage after I wanted to take them home. She said she gave them a bath but I beg to differ it looked as if they were just wet down they smelled awful. She made me pay for that sketchy service to get them back $ 30. She then had the audacity to try to scold me about my 16week old puppy being matted. No duh I just got him and that’s why we’re here. If you love your dogs like I do leave this place and take them elsewhere otherwise they’ll abuse your dog. This woman has no business calling herself a dog groomer.

This is what she did to my 16 week old puppy’s butt she sheared his anus after I was screaming at her to unhand my dog and give them back to me. He was bleeding for a while needing to be seen by the vet this traumatic experience not only physically hurt him to sit or go to the bathroom it emotionally hurt both of my dogs and it took a long time for either of them to be ok about groomers again.

Great place to get your cat groomed. I’ve taken my cat here for years and they have always been great. There are dogs, so if your cat is super nervous around dogs, might not be a good place.

Took my 8 year old cat Lola for her first lion hair cut, and we had a wonderful experience and my cat just looks so cute now !!! We are definitely going to be regular clients from now on, taking her for cuts and nails trimming. The ladies who work here, are very nice, and clearly know what they are doing. And location is very convenient, it’s just behind Trader Joe’s on the Oak Grove Plaza.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Let me first start off by saying that I am sure every pet owner has been in this position (or not) and that is something happens with the groomer you first started your puppy out with just to see them retire, or move away or something… So that was my case. My regular groomer disappeared and I was at the mercy at whomever I picked for my two dogs to be groomed.
I took a chance on this place and dropped my dogs off on Saturday around 10:45. I was not greeted and she didn’t ask my name. Two people were ahead of me and the lady seemed rushed and just trying to get us out of shop. She asked me how I wanted my dogs cut. I told her just to trim them up, shape their faces and paws, grind the nails etc (basic shampoo and cut) I did not want them to be shaved or skinned. I did not want the ears chopped and then when you see the mistake, just keep cutting. I did not ask for for his tail to be totally cut off and made to look like a furry worm. What groomer does that? The haircut is soooo bad and every time I look at him I feel bad, because no groomer has ever messed up this bad on my dog. I will ever bring my dogs here again and I caution anyone else who does.

I got my two dogs groomed a couple days ago. I just moved to the area and I was looking for a new groomer and I came across the Laundermutt on Unilocal.They have good reviews and decent prices so I figured I’d give them a try. My dogs look adorable. My only complaints are I dropped them off at 10:30 and didn’t receive a phone call to pick them up until about 4. I did call to check on them and the lady I talked to seemed annoyed I was calling to check up on my pups. When I examined them over when I got home I realized there were quite a few spots that the groomer had missed. Like paws weren’t groomed very well. There are just little patches all over their body they seemed to have missed. And one of my dogs didn’t look like his beard had been groomed. To say the least I’m not too sure if I will use them again.

I think my dog got fleas from here. And if that’s not where he got them then they didn’t tell me he had them which was easy to notice. Yorkie never had fleas before and we found 6!

I picked up my little Miniature Poodle tonight, on March 24, 2015, and she looked wonderful, as always, coming from Lauri at Laundermutt. Balvenie came to me from being abandoned in a park in Oakland back in the middle of last year, 2014, and has grown into our hearts and love. After several «bad» experiences for my previous toy poodles, Lauri has taken care of my poodles, for so many years, I couldn’t imagine taking my poos anywhere else! Any bad comments against Laundermutt are not warranted, I can guarantee it.

I took my roommate’s fragile kitty here a few months ago and they were awesome! Very nice crew, gentle, professional and wonderful job. Got her claws trimmed and all the furry naps out of little one! I am rebooking an appointment. Thank you Launder Mutt !!

Warning!!! This place is a Doggie Heath Hazard!!!
Be sure your dog has it’s shots! They don’t even ask. Any reputable place will. Not a dod healthy environment at all!
First impression is general appearance, looked dirty, the floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped at all. The sanitary conditions are very poor.
I took my dog their for self service. Tub was dirty. They do not clean the tubs between dogs. There was a lot of hair in the drain, and mold under the mat. Obviously the do not sanitize it. Not appropriate. Against proper standards.
The dryer’s plug had exposed wires. There was an attempt to put tape on it. But wise still uncovered. Huge electrical hazard.
I asked to use bathroom. The young lady said «sorry, its a mess, I haven’t cleaned it today“It was in the back. Ok.
When I went back it looked like an assembly line of dogs and groomers way too close to each other. The groomers are crammed together. Not much room between stations. It’s too easy for interaction. Not good if their aggressive toward other dogs. If there was an emergency, there’s not enough room to get out of way or retreat.
If there was a fire marshal, or health code inspection they would fail big time!!!
The bathroom… Ewww… Gross! It was nasty. There is a large filthy dog kennel. Would you want your dog kept in there, in a bathroom???
Can you imagine what kind of diseases your dog is exposed too?
The groomers seem nice enough. By reviews they can be pretty good. But I see why they have good prices. They cut corners by not having anyone to keep the place clean. You get what you pay for indeed…

We have been customers of LaunderMutt, since they opened for business 17 years ago. With all the choices out there today for pet grooming services, none can match their level of professionalism and workmanship in the trade, with dedication, integrity, and care, in their personnel, led by Lauri. Lauri is not just ‘the owner’, but a hands on leader. She leads by examples, which is why her staff is so dedicated to all of their customers, both the four legged and two legged ones! They are also very reasonably priced in their grooming services, along with their self wash.
My wife has a pretty high level of standards, being that she used to show dogs (Tibetan Terriers), which is why we have not patronized any other pet groomers in 17 years, and will continue to do so, as long as LaunderMutt is around.

Yvette and Shari are the best groomers I have ever met. They actually listen to me when I describe what type of cut I want. I have not been disappointed when I pick up my dog. She always looks the way I want and smells great. Great Job Laundermutt.

Came here Sunday with my pupster! I am new to the area and usually just took my dog to petsmart but after a bad experience and showing up there only for them to cancel on me it was time to look around. I called a few places and got some rude customer service. I called here on Saturday know that my dog was over due and I felt like a terrible dog mom. They said she could come in Sunday morning first thing and i was sooooo excited! Its a little place tucked away behind where round table is. I have to say one lady on the phone was very confusing and made me repeat everything 5 times but that’s okay. I had a wedding the same day that I had to get to and they were willing to work with me on time. Picked my baby up and she looked amazing and was very happy. Probably one of the better priced places in this area as well. I have nothing bad to say about this place based on my experience.

Just picked up my baby, as usual they did a great job! We have been coming to Laundermutt for at least seven years and every year Stella gets bigger. She is almost eight now and pushing 130. They continue to take care of her and treat her like a princess. If you are looking for a place to take your loved ones, this is it!

I dropped off my dogs at 9am and didn’t get a call until 5pm, when they close.
The lady is very nice but she definitely does not know how to groom Maltese type dogs. I asked to not shave my dogs and that I would like about at least 2 inches kept and just a trim around the face. I knew one of my dogs had matts so she said she would do what she can. Fair enough.
I thought by 3pm at the latest my dogs would be ready, and I got no call, so around 3:30 I called and asked the status of my dogs. They told me that they’ve been busy and they’ve washed and blow dried my dogs and that they are next to be groomed. So for 6 ½ hours my dogs have only been washed and blow dried which makes no sense to me. Poor things are just cooped up in a cage. I knew they close at 5 so I was worried to see what she would do in an hour and a half with 2 dogs and I’m not even sure what time they really hit the grooming table.
When I picked them up, they were both completely shaven and many parts were uneven. She told me that the matts were too close to the skin and that’s the only choice she had, which is why I said she does not know how to groom dogs like mine. It sounds to me like she was just pressed for time. I’ve taken my Maltese to groomers before with the same matts and they did a much better job.
Even if the matts were too close to the skin and she really had to shave my dogs down, it should not have taken 8 hours to do so. I honestly think I could have done a better job myself.
It definitely was not worth $ 100 and I will not be coming back. I do not recommend this place to anyone with a long haired dog that needs grooming.

Pros: These are very nice people, they throw in nails and trimming gratis, and my dog is significantly cleaner than when I dropped her off.
Cons: The actual grooming doesn’t seem to be there. My dog came back with gobs and gobs of beginning-​to-​matt undercoat. They did a very cursory, surface job of brushing her out, and really, I can wash the dog and do a toss off brushing myself. I don’t need to pay $ 55 for it. I do not recommend this place for a heavy-​coated dog.

My little corgi-​terrier mix had her first grooming session since we got her 4 years ago from the pound. We were always hesitant to take her to a groomer because she had been abused by her previous owner and it took about a year for her to trust even us. I just didn’t know if I could trust someone else with her since she is such a «mama’s girl».
Had to take her though because her nails had grown too long and since she’s getting a little arthritic, she’s not wearing them down like she used to.
We called and were able to get an appointment the same day (right after a holiday weekend, everyone else probably did it before guests came to visit!) She was a little hesitant to go with the groomer, but warmed up to her pretty quickly. When we picked her up 2 hours later, they were best friends.
Highly recommend them. They are truly dog people!
