I always come here for their deluxe chow mein and chicken wings. I loooooooooove their chicken wings. Best chicken wings in the bay area! They are so good, juicy, crunchy batter, and sweet galricky sauce.

This is my go to place for black bean noodles and dumplings. The food is clean and flavorful. The derive is quick. While the atmosphere isn’t anything special, It’s comfortable and definitely family friendly and clean. I would recommend anyone to this place for at least one meal!

I absolutely loved the food here. until recently. I ordered the chicken chowmein, beef & broccoli, kung pao chicken & sweet & sour pork and had the worst food poisoning of MYLIFE. It lasted 2 almost 3 days and no matter how good the food here was I will NEVER be returning.

By far, this placed NAILEDIT, in FOOD, SERVICE, and CLEANLINESSPERIOD! I am a CHINATOWNBEASTIN S.F., and grew up there, so I can tell you with authority, this place hit all the mark’s. If your looking for atmosphere like M.Y. Yan’s or Tommy Toy’s from back in the days, then we are not on the same wave length, but food wise, you’ll thank me L8TER… The Sizzling Rice Soup(5star), Honey Walnut Prawn(5star), Mongolian Beef(5star), are ya picking up, what I’m putting down people of Concord… Love this place, and it gets my very rare 3 magic words… «I’ll Be Back», and like Anthony Bourdain say’s, and I’ll Be Hungry For More… Stay Thirsty My Friends, CHEERS…

This place serve quick cook chicken mu-Shu with count of 4 thin pancakes. Its good like usually but this time its give bland flavor from mu-shu. This waitress give effort to please customers being friendly. They serving good set of hot tea. After I paid for the food, I got couple slices of fresh orange and a fortune cookie. I over peeked other people’s orders as the sesame chicken dish look good!

Grew up eating here and I’m glad its still as good as I remember. Their spicy seafood noodle soup is still my favorite dish to get, and they get it right everytime. I love this place and recommend anyone living in the area or visiting the area to give it a try.

There’s a reason why a family operated business can thrive for 30+ years, eat here and you’ll taste why its 1 of the East Bay best.

To go lunch comes with soup. Great food and fast. Inside of the restaurant definitely needs to be updated. Carpet is very dirty and the whole place is dingy, but the food is great. Would definitely go back, just probably keep taking food to go rather than eating there.

The service here is great(sometimes they might not be able to understand you) but it’s good. I recommend the Mongolian beef and the oyster sauce beef for your meal. The restaurant overall has a nice Chinese feel to it, and I recommend going here.

My family has been going here since before I can remember. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious! Every time I have Chinese food I compare it to Mandarin Garden(and no one quite adds up) The owners are super friendly and very helpful when trying new food. For big parties they are amazing! When I got married a couple of years ago I had my rehearsal dinner there and everything was perfect! We went in about a week before, ordered all the food, when we got there the day of everything was ready and went so smoothly!

First time at this restaurant. Consider ourselves well versed in Asian cuisine, lived for a time in the Orient, learned to cook different types of Asian foods. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars; 1 is poor &5 is excellent: 1. Hospitality. Very nice & accommodating folks! Rating 5 stars. 2. Ambience. Got food to go; waited inside for about 30 mins. Minimal noise: 4 tables of people(total 9 people: 8 tables of 4, &1 table of 3). This is an average size restaurant, max capacity 113. Double swinging doors to kitchen. If you’re sitting in the main area, which is next to the kitchen, you can hear everything going on inside: foods cooking/sizzling, talking, dishes/pots n pans clanging, but not so deafening you can’t enjoy the meal or gave a conversation. There’s a larger room with the remaining seating there. It would be quieter, if sitting there, if that’s an issue for you. Rating: 4 stars. 3. Food. Ordered to go: BBQ pork appetizer; pot stickers appetizers; broccoli beef; sweet & sour pork; sesame seed chicken; deluxe fried rice; and, deluxe fried rice. Good taste, though not great. Rating: 4 stars. 4. Cleanliness: 5 stars for dining area; 1 star for bathroom! The dining area appeared clean & uncluttered; BUT, I’ve NEVER seen this in a bathroom before: a sign at each commode that says to NOT flush toilet paper in commode, rather put in the trash can. To me this is very unsanitary! There was used paper on the floor! I suspect this is a pluming issue they should address. Overall rating: 3.5. 5. Value. This area is about average of other like restaurants. Rating: 5 stars. My overall rating: 4 stars. I would get food here again.

I can’t speak for dinner, though my boyfriend says it’s just as good, but their lunch special is good with a lot of bang for your buck. $ 7.50-$ 8.50 for soup, appetizer, steamed or fried rice, and an entrée. Many Chinese places do this, but it not only is a lot of food, but in a generous portion. Plus the food is authentic and cooked to order just like a dinner menu, not like the take out places where you pick and choose from pre-cooked food. On a Monday at noon, the restaurant is filled with a diverse crowd — business folk on lunch break to older Chinese only speaking adults, and I see why. The menu encompasses all different tastes, whether it be the all so familiar broccoli beef to mu shu pork and bean curd. Unfortunately it’s not as easily seen as it could be, because this place deserves more publicity! Best Chinese food I’ve had in the area.

I’ve only tried the jajangmyun(black bean noodles) here and it’s just ok. The sauce is a bit salty and the noodles aren’t hand pulled. I also had the chicken wings which are good but only 8 drumsticks per order at around $ 10.00 per order. Mandarin Garden satisfies the craving for black bean noodles but with the saltiness/msg it may not be worth it. Service is ok as well as a older couple runs the restaurant. The outside looks run down and the inside isn’t much better. But it’s the only viable option for jjm.

Food was good, but servings are on the smaller side, so order accordingly if you have people with bigger appetites. At least the night we went out it also took a lot longer then expected… Not sure what happened, as we had family members who have been here before and said it wasn’t normal. Friendly employees were apologetic about the wait.

This place is so good. I’ve been here about 4 – 5 times and each time it never fails. I have gone for pick up everytime hut the food is always fresh. I definitely recommend their orange chicken… they make panda express look like government cheese! Also their combo chow mein. Everything here just taste great and for someone like me who doesnt care for chinese(because i alwayd experience it being greasy) this place has changed my mind. The lady who seems to always be there is always gracious and can explain everything. She tells me everything is fresh and you know what? I BELIEVEHER! If you are looking for some very good food and great flavor throughout, stop here. You wont be disappointed!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G every dish was made so delicious, each had it’s own burst of flavor and freshness. I enjoyed my trip to this restaurant immensely. It’s very homestyle, and a very adorable place. The daughter of the chef that works at the restaurant is so charming and adorable :3 Her smile lights up your meal, I guarantee it. I enjoyed my dinner at Mandarin Garden a lot and will definitely come back!

I am so happy that my girlfriends brought me here! We had a great meal of dumplings, beef noodle soup(with house-made noodles) and some very delicious chicken drummettes and wings(I think it is called the Mandarin Garden chicken wings?). The décor and the outside store front is nothing to rave about, but the bottom line is that their food is great and a very nice couple run this place. I will be back for more!
