Note: This review is for this location only. I’ve had no issues with other Mimi’s locations. I’m so disappointed. I used to love this place. I grew up in Concord and I almost always stop here at least once while visiting before I head back to LA. I’ve always had great experiences here, but this time was awful. We were seated and our orders were taken without a problem, but we waited over 40 minutes before we received our food. Our waiter never as much as looked at us during those 40 minutes — no drink refills, no apology, no offer of bread, nothing. We watched large parties get seated, order, and receive their food while we just sat there. The food was decent, I’ll give them that. No complaints there, but a 40 minute wait without even an apology is unacceptable. Sorry Mimi’s, but I’ll have to take my business elsewhere.

This place has a great selection of food and it is prepared very well. The wine is affordably priced and is very good. With salads, you get a huge muffin — a great breakfast for the next day. The place is comfortable and friendly. But the reason you have to go is Carol, one of the waitresses. She is amazing! You will have a warm greeting and service that matches your needs. She anticipates what you want and delivers. No one waits for anything. My group meets there once a month and we are thrilled that she is always our waitress. It makes the evening so much more special. Check it out and ask to be seated in her section.

I would have had a great experience aside from the long long long wait and cold food. We were told there was only one cook and upon inspection of the kitchen found out that was a lie. The place was practically empty. I felt bad for our waitress… The fact that she had to be the one to defend the nonsense going on there was just sad. The manager acted like he could care less. Never coming back lol. I’d rather go to Chuck E Cheese’s

Food was okay-But for someone to recognize when we came in that we wanted a table was a long process. In addition, the server was slow, and the restaurant was not busy. I would not go back…

When I approached the maitre d’, who looked like he was 15 years old, but was valiantly trying to grow his first mustache, I was told that there was a five minute wait. The restaurant was at least half empty. I expressed surprise and was told that the wait staff were in a meeting and that was the reason for the wait. I replied, saying, «So, I can wait standing here or sitting at a table?» The maitre d’ said he was not allowed to seat anyone. I asked to speak to the manager and was promptly seated. My waiter was fast and efficient. And did an appropriate upsell for restaurant products. I won’t bother commenting on the food. This is a chain restaurant, run by a faceless corporation. The food in these places is always the same; not too bad, not too good.

First time here and we loved it. Stopped in for breakfast this morning and will definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Everything looked and sounded amazing. Finally narrowed it down to the ham and Swiss crepes and the bf picked the turkey mushroom Brie crepes. Both came with potatoes. I loved mine just as it was. Loaded with tons of ham and the potatoes and were crispy exactly how I like them. The bf did not like the Brie on top, but he is pickier about cheese on his meals. I took his brie and ate it with my potatoes. They did bring him hollandaise sauce instead to go over his crepes. He liked that better. I also had a mango mimosa. Yum! There was even morning entertainment today– these two batty old ladies behind us who very loudly complained about anything and everything under the sun! The waitstaff has the patience of saints.

2:00 reservations Seated at 2:30 No waitress till…3:00 Walked out. Nobody even talk to us and when you walk in the front door they have six people standing in a circle staring at a map and nobody greet you they do not know how to run a restaurant and should be put out of business. Not to mention there Limited holiday lunch menu to 6 choices(Mother’s Day)

Empty restaurant at 1pm, but my friends and I waited a half an hour and would have waited longer if we hadn’t flagged down the waiter. My BLTA had toast that looked like it had been toasted by passing a match over it. The fries were barely warm. The open kitchen was across the room. I took my plate to the opening of the kitchen and a waitress ruins up and asks me what’s wrong. I tell her and add that it’s completely unacceptable. She just keeps saying she didn’t take the order. I ask to see the manager. The waitress said that I «assaulted» her. The manager is getting more and more upset while telling me to calm down saying I was being disruptive. Wow! They berated me, in loud voices. DONOTEATHERE! It’s not worth it as there are many restaurants nearby.

Went for an afternoon meeting. Service was really slow though there were few patrons. I think my server was Luz. I had a send a search party to find her whenever I needed something. Ugg. I don’t like that. The coffee was decent. I had the meatball appetizer and the Brie. It was just okay. The restaurant felt old and in need of a deep cleaning. I recognized a waitress from the Fairfield location. She was great. I like this place for the location. The ambience and service were not up to par. Maybe they had an off day.

I’ve been going to a regular meeting here for the past year. The menu changes they put in last year have been fantastic. Everything I’ve tried has been cooked well and enjoyable. It’s not great food, but it’s decent food for the price. The service is a little slow on Tuesday nights but they host our group really well. They are happy to divide up checks and our server is now really good at remembering what people want. She’s attentive and doesn’t get flustered as new people show up. It’s definitely a great place for a group to meet.

This place has gone downhill. The service and breakfast is not what it used to be. Our breakfast has been just ok to over cooked almost to the point we were going to return it the last few visits. Today I ordered pancakes to go and some pancakes were very brown and others were almost under cooked. The girl taking the order was completely lost and needed help taking a pancake order.

Quite disappointed in this place. Service was really lousy. The waitress was really nice but she lacked on checking on our table often because there were things we needed & she was no where to be seen. Plus, the food took 30 minutes to come out! There was another party of 3 that was sitting near us & not sure why the food took awhile to come out when there were only 2 parties in the dining area! Food was pretty okay. I ordered the corn beef hash benedict. When it came out i was really surprised that there wasnt any bread on the bottom. But i guess that was my fault for not reading the menu thoroughly. I also substituted the potatoes for fresh fruit & they give you such a dinky amount! Like 3 – 4 pieces of fruit. Overall experience: i dont see myself coming here again.

Absolutely ridiculous! When we arrived at 10:30 on A Saturday for breakfast we were prompted to give our name and wait 10 minutes for a table for two. I paused and looked around and asked about all of the empty tables across the restaurant which I’m sure the rest of the crowd that was waiting was interested in knowing about. The hostess said they have two servers here and aren’t trying to over seat them. If you own a restaurant you should be able to staff accordingly. Waiting 10 minutes to be seated just because you didn’t bring in enough servers is stupid. Don’t you pay for the square footage here? Why wouldn’t you capitalize on it? In the end, we waited 15 minutes and then left because we saw no progress towards us being called to fill one of the many empty seats they had.

It never fails. We get horrible service at this location every single time. Literally horrible. This last Sunday we waited 30 minutes just for drinks. The staff is unorganized and clueless and that’s because the manager is as well. He really cares less when you complain. Last year on Mother’s Day, they messed up our reservation and gave our table to a walk in. We were 10 minutes early. They asked us to wait for the party to finish– and they hadn’t even received their food yet. They ruined our Mother’s Day with no compensation. Why do I keep going back? Because I love their menu. =(ugh.

I used to work here. Not at this location, but one in the Sacramento area. The quality of food at Mimi’s has since gone down… as has the portion size. Service is still pretty good. Bonus points for that! They still serve the famous carrot raisin bread at the table. The bleu cheese and walnut salad is still the same(THANKGOD!), but what’s with the new weirdo French items on the menu? I could do with out. I don’t necessarily think of Mimi’s Café when I think of French cuisine. One addition to the menu I’m not angry about– the deviled eggs. Three different kinds, and they were all fantastic.

Feeling Disappointed I’m visiting from Los Angeles and the wait was so long they are clearly understaffed we asked to sit outside and the manager said they could not sit us out side since they didn’t have a server outside when there was already a couple sitting outside about 30 minuets later they sit a second couple outside. What the heck anyway the food was good and the servers were friendly definitely won’t be back to this Mimi’s the manager could have made better judgment to accommodate us outside

Receive a free slice of birthday crêpe cake on your birthday when you sign up for their email list. The coupon is valid for 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to pick up your free slice. You don’t have to order anything else and you can take your slice of cake to go! Very pleasant experience, the young man who helped me was really nice, he didn’t try to push a meal on me or anything! Thankful. :)

I’ve always passed by this place and wondered if it was any good. So I tried it early on a Sunday morning with a group of 6. There weren’t many customers so thought we would get our food relatively quickly but that wasn’t the case. I didn’t time it but it took a long time for not being busy. However, our server did give complimentary freshly baked muffins which were good but that was only the only good thing of the meal. I had the grande meal which consisted of waffles or pancakes, eggs, choice of bacon, sausage or ham with a side of fruit. I guess these items aren’t too hard to mess up but they just were ok. I found it funny that fruit were only grapes and two pieces of orange. Another person in the table ordered a quiche and it came out cold so had to return it back to the kitchen. I don’t think I will be returning based off the experience.

I really like this place and what they’ve done with their menu. I’m not really much for eating at large chain restaurants, but I’m certainly not«above» eating at one if it’s good. Plus, I always look forward to coming here with my mom. I love the fresh breads they serve before your entrée. In addition, the service is prompt and friendly(for the most part). You won’t find much the way of mediocre offerings at Mimi’s, such as burgers and pasta. Instead, each menu offering is much more unique and French-inspired. I often find myself ordering the Meyer Lemon Mussels and Frites, but I’ve also tried several of their other offerings, such as the Cinnamon Roll French Toast for breakfast. Simply amazing. I encourage you to check out their breakfast menu; this place really«gets» breakfast: Try Mimi’s; you’ll be sorry you didn’t try this place sooner. Bön appetit!

I can’t believe I’ve never been in here before recently! It’s cute!!! plus, the fresh bread they serve before your meal is really tasty. There’s a carrot raisin and also a yummy white bread. I could have sworn I rushed home after our lunch here a month or so ago in order to write my review of the place. I enjoyed a hot French Onion soup bowl that day, and skewers of scallops. I have since been back for more onion soup. It’s very salty(which I like) and has plenty of cheese with delicious, crunchy croutons on top. The only negative is that service can be very slow. We’ve noticed on both visits that one server is helping a large number of tables(in our opinion, a table or two too many). service has still been really friendly and pleasant; just slow. But if youre not in a hurry, we’ve had good experiences with our meals both visits and we’ll definitely return again soon(for more soup for me!!). (Note: there’s a TV at the wine bar, but they aren’t supposed to turn on the volume. They will turn it on upon request, but they have to get manager approval first, and they turned it on to such a low volume that we were still ultimately watching a stand up comedy show while we ate, and we couldn’t hear a word. They could at least put on something that doesn’t need audio!!)
