Business Owner

Dr. Robert Hlavac graduated from Creighton University with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1990. He has been in practice in Concord since 1992. Dr. Hlavac was born in Oakland, CA and moved to Contra Costa County at the end of elementary school. He then attended Miramonte High School and U.C. Berkeley. After graduating dental school, Dr. Hlavac was a resident at Los Angeles County /​University of Southern California General Hospital. Dr. Hlavac continues his education by taking numerous classes. Dr. Hlavac enjoys following our local sports teams. He is married and has four children.

Hands down BEST DENTIST EVER! I’ve been to quite a few all over the bay area… If I ever move away, I’ll make the drive to Dr. Hlavac or make appointments around visits.
Dr. Hlavac treats you like a PERSON before a dollar sign. He makes followup calls, personally to ensure his patients are doing alright after more detailed procedures. Who does that these days?
I could go on and on… but the reviews speak for themselves.

I consider myself fortunate to have selected Dr. Hlavac to be my dentist 15 years ago! He and his staff are friendly, professional, and do everything possible to provide a painless dental experience. I appreciate his honest approach and ability to put a patient at ease. He has never recommended a procedure that was not needed.

The smile in the doctor’s profile picture is genuine, and a true reflection of his gentle nature at dealing with nervous patients like me. I’ve had three visits with him, and they’ve all been great. His assistants are wonderful as well — one of the ladies who helped me had switched over to his office after several decades of pediatric dentistry — her good nature definitely adds to the office.
Went yesterday for a fairly long appointment (just got dental insurance again & trying to catch up a bit). He made sure I was appropriately numb, took his time and spoke very reassuringly and he did very good work.
I would highly recommend him.

I booked an appointment to get my teeth fixed and got a full exam and full mouth x-​ray that I did not request. I have never felt so uncomfortable in the dentist chair before until this dentist. I felt like crying after leaving his office under all the scrutiny I went through… Spent 2 hours at the office and only had one of the 2 problems I had booked the appointment for resolved…
The office lady and the dental assistant was super nice, though.

Besides being bonafide, he is the best dentist around! I’ve been to several dentists, but Dr. Hlavac is a dedicated pro. He puts his best in everything he does and it shows. His office even makes crowns while you wait. There are no more molds etc just digital images transformed into your new tooth. Other dentists make you wait two weeks with a temporary that might fall out. But not Dr. Hlavac; I’m so impressed! I highly recommend him and is staff.

Really enjoyed my experience at this dentist office. Everyone there, including Dr. Hlavac are very knowledgeable and friendly! The office is also clean and comfortable. I highly recommend going here. The office assistant really helped me with my insurance questions and she was quick at finding out information. I also was able to get right in, 30 minutes after I had made the call. Dr. Hlavac and his dental assistant were very thorough and really taught me about the things I did not know about. Will be seeing you again in 6 months!

I really love Dr. Hlavac and his office staff. Everyone is kind, professional and personable. I am a huge baby when it comes to tooth pain; and of course, have sensitive teeth. Dr. Hlavac is attentive and genuinely concerned about my comfort and ensuring nothing hurts. Even though I typically see him only 2 – 3 times a year him and his staff always remember me, remember what I told them 6 months ago and love chatting with you. I have been seeing Dr. Hlavac for about 7 years now and have referred many friends and co-​workers and will continue to do so. It was a nightmare finding a decent dentist when I first moved to the area 10 years ago and am so very happy now.

I came to Dr. Hlavac after changing insurance plans. I liked my previous dentist, but in hindsight, I feel that they did not address some pretty major issues with my teeth and instead chose to put procedures off as long as possible.
I received a crown yesterday, and as you will see in other posts, was done on the spot. The fact that he has invested in this technology shows a level of commitment to his business and profession. He also seems to genuinely enjoy his work, and I believe this correlates with higher quality work as well.
Anyhow, thank you Affordable Care Act and thank you Dr. Hlavac!

Dr. Hlavac and his awesome staff :-) are efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and listen carefully to your issues. This is a nice low key office, with Dr. Hlavac being the only dentist in this office. I’ve been going here for 5 – 6 yrs now. Dr. Hlavac did two of my teeth for the top of the implants — great job! Very good with my elderly Mom too, making her feel comfortable. Quiet, convenient location with lots of parking, right across from the Concord Library.

Dr. Hlavac is a great dentist. He is very gentle and never has more than one patient at a time. I no longer live in Concord, but will make the 25 minute drive twice a year because good dentists are hard to come by!

I can not rate based on no treatment; However, I went in to ask for a consultation about the cost of getting upper Dentures and couldn’t get one unless I first spend $ 125.00 to $ 200.00 for all the X-​rays and exam.
I understand that this will need to be done before the work can be done true; However, why can’t I get an estimate of the cost with out having to first pay up to $ 200.00 a consultation. I told them I want to pay cash for the work I just need to be talked to first. I am sure Robert Hlavac DDS is quite good that is why I went there, so I gave him 4 stars I don’t want to hurt his rep.

Dr. Hlavac has been my family dentist for over 4 years now. I can honestly say I look forward to going! It is a private office, so there is never a long wait, I get right in at my appointment time. He has a system in his office where he does crowns in one visit! I have 2 crowns in my mouth, that he made while I read a magazine.
They feel great in my mouth, just like my real teeth. His assistant Amie is so nice and friendly, they really make a great team. If you have questions about flossing, Amie’s the one to ask! Dr Hlavac takes his time, and I really like that. I feel confident that when me and my children go see him, we are in good hands and get the best care possible. And that means a lot.
