The Smog Center

I’ve been getting every car I’ve owned smoged here for years, never had to wait very long, never had an issue with aftermarket parts. People are always friendly, only thing I would like to see change is take credit cards.

I’ve been coming here for about 8 — 10 years with 2 cars and will continue coming here.
Place seems a bit odd, not your typical «garage»; but I’m not there for the bells and whistles. I come The Smog Center for the swift and professional service.
I’ve never had to spend for than 15 – 20 minutes at this place.
NOTE — they don’t accept credit cards.

I been coming here for well over 6 maybe 7 years. They have a fair price and no hassle service. Very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. I am a last minute person and they have always accommodated me even literally at the last minute like just before closing.
The «Don’t Pass Don’t Pay» policy is a great perk if you have a car that may be older and you’re not sure if it will pass. At least if it were to fail you can spend the money on repair work and needed parts.
I know how it is when a car fails smog, I like to fix my own cars and do my own repair work to save money. Sometimes the other smog stations only allow a free retest within 30days which can put a pressure on a someone with a budget in time and money (like me a DIY guy). The «Don’t Pass Don’t Pay Policy» is best for the DIY customer. I will keep coming back for this reason plus the staff there are all super cool and easy to talk to.
Just remember to bring the car to them for the follow up test. I think that’s the fair thing to do. Its a good service I been going there for years and I am penny conscious consumer who has been working on my own cars since highschool
Also service is pretty fast and honest. I can’t complain. I’m just another satisfied repeat customer.

Not too sure about all of the negative reviews on here but my experience was great. Take into consideration that my dad and I showed up shortly after they opened on a Saturday morning. Obviously we were the only customers there. We filled out the paper work, gave the guy our keys and were out of there within 15 minutes maybe even less. Yeah the place is a little funky and may or may not be more than one business on the inside, but if you want a quick smog check go this route.

Great experience at The Smog Center yesterday. I took my daughter’s car there and it was done in a matter of minutes. I love that they open at 8:00 a.m. I got there shortly after 8 in the morning and they waived me right in for the service. They only accept cash or checks, but that was fine because I had a coupon from the newspaper for a total of $ 35. I would recommend them if you just need a smog to renew your registration…

I have been going here for the past 5 years and they’ve always been professional and accommodating. I could not find my coupon, but they gave me the discounted price (plus $ 10 extra for Star only and $ 8.25 certification fee.). The smog checks are completed within 10 – 15 minutes. They do not accept credit card, but they are still my go-​to station.

We are a fleet of work trucks and we bring all our vehicles are there. Their service is fast and great! Have been using them for 10 years now and would highly recommend them to anyone!

Terrible service, I left. They were supper rude, will never go again to the location.

In and out in 10 minutes! thought it would take longer. I also love the pass or don’t pay option.
You don’t feel so bad when you fail instead of paying failing and worrying about passing your retest within a small time frame.

I went to this place several times for smog test and I got the same good service at reasonable cost.

In and out in 15 minutes. I will be going back for our other car when it is time.

This is my second go around to this smog center. It is the same great service as the first! I filled the invoice like last year and was next in line. The mechanic was both speedy and efficient. I was filled with joy because I had passed! I used my coupon I found in the local newspaper and paid my bill! I will be back next smog check!

I got a coupon for this smog center. It was a little difficult to find, as you had to circle around to find it.
However, the staff made me feel comfortable and the test was completed in 15 minutes. As long as I can get a coupon, this will be the smog center I will go to every time. They now have a loyal customer.

I took my Mustang Cobra here yesterday without an appointment. The guys were super helpful and I passed with flying colors. Also took my Chrysler 300c here a few weeks ago and they were done smoging my car before I could go next door to the ATM machine. I will be back in a few weeks to smog my Saleen Mustang. It’s a great feeling to finally find smog guys I can trust. Look no further, go to the Smog Center. Thanks again fellas!

Kinda sketchy. If you don’t think your car will pass, get a coupon from the Times; pass or don’t pay. My van didn’t pass and I didn’t pay. Lousy customer service but if you want to buy a Persian rug while you wait, this is the place for you.

I’ve been to damn near every smog shop in Concord and this is one of the WORST. It also doubles as a cash for gold in case you want to trade in your gypsy trinkets
1. showed up at 2pm and the two worthless employees were outside eating. i wasnt sure if they worked there or not as they didnt give us the time of day.
2. they said the owner is praying and will be out soon and we needed to move our car. We moved it on the dyno. This finally got the attention of the two idiots outside who proceded to show an interest in working on my car (which they failed the day before)
3. They shout for the owner again and both have a seat on the used couches for sale inside their shop
4. owner finally comes out and they get up. here comes the best part of this story
my car is a stick THE WORKER GETS IN MY CAR AND DUMPS THE CLUTCH 4 TIMES THEN ASKS ME WHATS WRONG WITH MY CAR!!! what an idiot.
5. I told them i put a new cat converter on my car. the next 45 minutes were spent with the two workers «looking for a number for the cat online»
6. after 2 minutes on the dyno, my car passed with amazing numbers.
7. upon failing smog the day before, the owner told me he would do a retest for $ 10. After all was said and done he said he would do me a favor and give me half off a normal smog and he wasnt going to honor the original $ 10.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

Had my father go here for his older Nissan and was told his car wouldn’t pass. The initial test showed really high (PPM) numbers to prove it. They offered to get it to pass for $ 390 if he left the car and maybe they would have it done by the end of the day. He tried to negotiate with the owner, but he was only willing to lower the estimate to $ 350. Luckily, he declined the service due to the high cost and no explanation what they would do to fix the car.
So he took his car down to street to ‘A Perfect Smog’. My father explained that the car might not pass due to the last test, but within 15 minutes the car passes SMOG! They also gave him a competitive price with no haggling.
I DO Not recommend going SMOG Center. Seems like they prey on those who don’t know much about cars.
