Business Owner

Brian has serviced the Contra Costa and Alameda Counties for over 25 years. He first started in the area as a refrigeration service technician and naturally moved towards a career as an HVAC Specialist. He has used his extensive experience in the the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Business to open his own office with his family and long time business partner who actually started in the HVAC business under Brian’s tutelage. Walnut Creek Heating and Air Conditioning has now been serving Contra Costa County since 2012 with the experience of two well seasoned technicians and the service standards that make his family proud. These high standards of service excellence and technical aptitude have allowed him to open a second service location in Pleasanton California.

This company is more concerned with selling a service contract than dealing with the actual problem. The control diagnostic board called for replacement, simple enough. However tech stated furnace needed to be replaced. They did quote me $ 900.00 for new board which I purchased myself for $ 225.00. System running fine with no issues. Be careful with these guys they can be a little slippery when it comes to price.

Just had a visit from Senior Tech Mike who was extremely knowledgable, professional, and on time! This company is one I have used for over 8 years and I highly recommend them.
Honest and hard working, the folks at WC HVAC have always helped our family with our furnace and AC units… And they do great duct work as well.
Call them — you won’t be sorry! I also just signed up for a maintenance contract which is such a good idea! Thanks WC HVAC and thank you to Mike!

Service Man Tyler was amazing! He spent 4 hours getting out heater up and running after two other service people were unable to figure out what the problem was. He was polite, professional and got the job done! We were totally impressed that he took the time to call support resources to make sure he was on the right track. We would highly recommend Tyler. Enjoying our toasty warm house!

Both Brian and Tyler gave us excellent advice and service. We opted not to get a new furnace, which their competitors pushed, and instead had Walnut Creek Heating clean and repair. I had renters in our house with no heat and below freezing temperatures. Tyler ordered the parts and we waited and literally as soon as the parts arrived, Tyler arrived to our Moraga house
and repaired and cleaned on 12÷23÷15 so our renters could have a warm and clean holiday! I so appreciate and value this extra mile Tyler took today.

I should have spent more time looking up on the internet, I am a handy individual and I knew why my heater wasn’t working the igniter wouldn’t ignite it but I could light it with a lighter I just didn’t know which part needed to be replaced. I should have googled and looked at ignition pictures.
I called WC H&A/C and they came out, I told him what was wrong and he pulled that part out and said yep its broken (one screw) he told me that to replace the part would be $ 199 plus the $ 59 drive over fee, my wife asked about part markup and he said it’s a really expensive part. We were reluctant to have him install it and said OK and he walked to furnace to replace as my wife googled it and saw that we could get that part in Walnut Creek for $ 25, I ran down and said stop no thank you we can get the part for $ 25 and he was disgruntled and said really I don’t think so and started to grab his tools and close the furnace. My wife asked what’s the part number and he said sorry I can’t tell you that. We paid him the $ 59 charge so we should be told the part number and he said See You Soon, we were bewildered by that statement. A few minutes later I went to Marcone Appliance Supply in Walnut Creek and he handed me the part for $ 32.12 with tax. I drove home and installed it in less than a minute and then said Honey turn on the furnace and it didn’t start, nothing happened. confused why it didn’t start, I said to myself maybe he turned off a switch and nope no switch so I said to myself hmm check the wire connections and yep a wire had been disconnected that prior to me telling him not to install their part was indeed connected…
We gladly would have had them install the part if it were reasonably priced but seven times the part cost for a minutes work is one heck of a mark-​up and a mark-​up that we can’t afford.

Ir was a great experience, David our technician was very knowledgable and explain to us why our thermostat wasn’t working, all because a previous company technician didn’t reinstall back a door correctly. The girl on the phone Ashley was very friendly and gave me an appt same day wich I couldn’t take. she offer me several other days, she was on point I asked some questions and she explain me maybe my ac unit wasn’t compatible with my new thermostat etc I have a great smooth costumer service and also the services of David our technician!

We had an old and malfunctioning HVAC system. Phillip serviced our equipment and discussed options for additional repairs or replacement. A few days later Brian spent several hours with us discussing new equipment options and pricing. He even lent us a floor heater to keep us comfortable. Two days afterwards, Noah and Jeremy worked non stop all day to tear out and install a new HVAC system. It is a quiet system distributing heat evenly throughout the house. We expect that the AC will be as efficient with cool air. We were referred to WC HVAC by a friend — one of the best referrals we have ever had. Everyone was polite, professional and knowledgeable including the office staff.

I called walnut creek heating and AC to take advantage of their $ 68 tuneup. Ive never had my heater serviced so i only assumed it needed it… And being in a military fam the fact that they donate some money to the wounded warriors was what really made me get off my butt and schedule something.
I can’t remember the techs name now, of course. Brian I think. But he was great! Very friendly. Such a good attitude and really made me feel at ease. Having some random person in your house is always weird but he made sure to explain everything and made me feel confident in the service.
I was almost certain they were going to try and sell me something but Brian didn’t. He advised that my heater was old but still kickin. His only suggestion was a new filter (He showed me the old one and it was embarrassingly disgusting haha)
Very happy with walnut creek heating. Clean, honest and professional guys. Way worth the 68 bucks.

We just had our two HVAC units serviced by this company and were very pleased. Philip arrived precisely as scheduled and he was friendly, polite and professional. He seemed pleased by our interest in what he was doing and answered all questions. Despite statements in other submissions in Unilocal, we never felt pressure to buy additional services or were being upsold in any way. The pricing was reasonable and I am sure we will use them again.

I have dealt with several other companies in the bay area and I find that Walnut Creek Heating and Air-​conditioning is by far the most competent, efficient, honest company around. I had been struggling with poor a/​c and heating for over 10 years — equipment installed by Kruse Co. of Berkeley. It turns out that they had mismatched my equipment so the furnace and a/​c cancelled each other out and did not provide the then promised operation.
Walnut Creek did a thorough inspection, found the problems, recommended the correct equipment and installed it. For the first time, I am enjoying wonderful cool diffuse air and heat. (In the bay area, one can need both in one day!)
The crew could not have been nicer or more professional.

Walnut Creek Heating and Air Conditioning deserves 10 stars. Chuck Anderson was personable and he explained how the process would go for getting the work done. He worked with our financing through the HERO program and it was smooth as a breeze. Once the work was done, there was a small challenging with financing the prepwork with another company and Kelly Freitas took the time to work with me to get it resolved so that everything would be taken care for us. After not having HVAC for two years (we had major repairs to our ductwork) and trying to survive the cold and heat with ceiling fans and space heaters, we couldn’t be happier. We are grateful that there are some companies still out there that understand customer service!

About a month ago our AC went out (so we thought) and called WCH&AC as they installed a new heater for us. The technician who came out after about 15 mins told me it was completely broken and of course to replace the until would be around $ 5K or more. Said the current unit was too small for our size house, leaking oil, etc. I am all about getting a second opinion and thank goodness I did. The next tech we called said we only needed to replace a part inside the unit. Cost us $ 150 to fix and what do you know, our AC is running better than ever. He even suggested we replace our vents to have the air come out even stronger. Nice and honest man. Imagine if we had purchased a new AC unit! Complete scam. It’s truly sad that businesses do this people. My husband and I work hard for our money. I will not be calling this company ever again, unless I absolutely have to since they replaced our heater about 6 months ago.

I’ve used them in the past but apparantly they are too busy to return an email or a follow up email in the course of the month. Just called to make sure they received the email (give them the benefit of the doubt). was told that they were not interested in the job. too big for them (8 new homes needing new systems in the next 6 months, staggered in Walnut creek). Annoyed most by their attitude and not even having the courtesy to reply… just not all that professional.
Re my previous experience. installers were great and did a great job despite having a very inept manager that came to the job like 10 times over the course of 3 days to tell them what to do when they clearly knew what they were doing. My understanding was that the manager was a relative of the owner so basically in a position where he could do no wrong. I will no longer refer them nor use them.

What a scam operation. The technicians, while knowledgeable and polite, are clearly in a sales mode. I have to assume they are on some sort of commission. I have seen this now on two occasions (two different technicians). The kicker was the recommendation to do extensive repair work on my ducts for $ 5,000. I just accepted a proposal from a more reputable company to do the needed work for $ 1,600.
And if you are talked into signing up for their monthly service contract, be forewarned that they make it difficult get out of it. I just had a short conversation with Donna who refused to let me talk with their Legal person about the legality of this practice. And then Donna hung up on me. Wow. I’ll go through the hoops they require so that I am done with this sleazy company.

In my previous review, I warned buyers to be aware of the financing options available to them and the hidden costs associated with choosing this option. At the time I signed up, the company had just switched to Synchrony Bank for the deferred financing option. Apparently they did not have the inside scoop on the bank charges (which is how I learned the hard way).
I contacted the company about this as I was a bit frustrated. I talked to the general manager and he indicated to me that they would be giving their staff additional training on the new bank procedures. He also offered to reimburse for the hidden costs.
So I do appreciate this. And hope the company learned as a result of my experience. And I too hope that others aren’t affected by this.
I’ve always been impressed at the niceness factor of this company. The product is good and I have no other complaints a month after install.

Walnut Creek Heating & Air Conditioning just replaced our entire HVAC system and it was a great experience from start to finish. They were the first company, of the many I called, to answer the phone with a live person, not with voice-​mail. Then they got a technician to our house within the next hour. It turned out that we needed to replace everything and Brian, our service technician, gave us options in case we wanted to complete the job in stages and save a little money. We however decided to get it all done at the same time and he was able to rearrange their schedule to get us started the next day.
Alfredo, Daniel, Ernie & Jason were professional and super nice! We had hot and cold spots in our house, so they reconfigured the ducts. Our attic was a mess with mounds of insulation and ducts running all over the place. Now it’s neatly laid out with the ducts lining the perimeter, outside openings sealed to keep out rodents, and they moved the attic lighting to a more practical position. They stayed late on the last day (a Friday!) to double check everything and left the house clean. I think they even vacuumed our garage!
