Gemmy Industries

I had a problem with an inflatable after only one day. I attempted to call them but was told that they don’t talk to customers. Send them an email! I sent an email with a question and a request 4 days ago and still no response.
I think they are as solid as their products.

Not the same Gemmy Industries I dealt with.
Yeah, their product concepts are good, but the customer service and backing of their products? Pitiful.
Bought a life-​sized animated witch of theirs in 2012. Assembled it, plugged it in, and it worked fine. Loved it. Followed the instructions on disassembling the item and stored it in its original box. A breeze.
Forward ahead to Halloween 2013 and we again followed the assembly instructions and plugged it in. Her eyes lit up and her voice mechanism worked fine, but her head and neck are supposed to lean forward and they didn’t. You could hear the mechanism inside the neck and chest of the figure whirring when the head was supposed to drop forward and then again when it retracted, but no movement whatsoever. We walked through the instructions again to see if anything was done wrong. Nothing.
So I emailed Gemmy, providing the UPC code and other details they requested. Received an email the next day saying because I bought it last year they wouldn’t replace or service it. I explained that it was used for less than six hours last year. (Probably less than one, really, because Hurricane Sandy knocked out electricity for 12 days and canceled Halloween in NJ. So that means it only worked when we tested it in anticipation of October 31.)
They said they «do not have replacement parts that involve the internal electric and mechanic funcions of items nor do we have schematics or wire diagrams.» They went on to suggest I take it to a local electronics repair shop for «suggestions and service.» Are you kidding? One hour being plugged in (maybe triggered a half dozen times) and no support the next time it is used?
Pitiful.
Next time I see a compelling Gemmy Industries product, I will pass it by. You should too.

Gemmy is a great company! They make inflatables for different holidays that are strong. Gemmy also makes props and other gadgets that are so cool!!!
