My friend and I rented a surrey on a weekend. We initially wanted to try single bikes, then the tandem bike and eventually decided on the surrey. The employees were very patient with us and accommodated all of our requests. We accidentally turned the rental hours after the time we were allotted… they didn’t charge extra! Score!

They have huge bike selection and very military friendly. They gave us 10% discount. Tyler was the duty clerk at that time. He was very helpful and courteous. Keep it up!

I love this place. Was quick and friendly service. My husband and I each got a bike for two hours and I was involved in a hit and run accident with no injuries but the bike had a bit of damage. They felt do bad they refused to let me pay anything. They were so understanding. Will go back every year.

Great place on the island to rent bikes… And beyond. I Rented a mountain bike and road the length of the strand. Saw the SEALs training, stopped at the Del. Great scenic adventure through the beautiful residential streets of Coronado as well. I would not recommend getting one of the side by side with a steering wheel 2 or 4 seaters– my party of 3 and I went absolutely nowhere but felt like we pedaled to Tijuana! Good thing there was/​is a brewery around the corner to quench our thirst after the pedal-​fest!

Decided to rent surrey and cruise around shoreline after about 15 minutes out pedal on passenger side fell off, tried to screw it back on but it was stripped. Returned surrey and was given another one and they rest the hour. Super good customer service and they were busy. Had a great time, would highly recommend.

The best way to see Coronado is taking a bike tour. Every time we have visitors in San Diego we take them on this tour and they love it. Bikes and Beyond always has great bikes to rent and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend this business.

We ALWAYS get our Coronado bike rental here after walking off the ferry. The BEST friendly helpful service and prices.

Awesome bike shop on the water!
I was truly impressed with their online and in person selection. What compelled me to use this shop, opposed to the tons other in San Diego was the close proximity to the Silver Strand bike path — which was ur goal for the day.
However, my maps did lie to me, and to get to the path wasn’t as straight forward as I expected. Of course, at no fault of B&B.
We got there an hour before closing so we got a few good miles in on our bikes. We were actually wanting a bench bike, but still at that time, there was a wait list! That certainly tells me, get there way earlier, for what I thought was the good stuff. After zooming past those bench bikes, I’m glad my sister and I chose singles. We’re certainly not slow ride type of gals.
Shop owners were super awesome. And our transactions were super quick.
Thanks for an awesome hour or so. Wish we had more time, and if we do return to San Diego, we will be sure to return to bike that path!

Good selection of bikes, though they could stand to do some maintenance on a few (tires, brakes etc.) Excellent location with great access to the bike path that leads under the bay bridge.

My cousins and I really enjoyed bikes & beyond.
The service was great, they give military discounts and provide you with a map!

Just know its FAR from the hotel del but still a nice ride around the water and restaurants near by.

Absolutely loved this place! Nothing but excellent service all round! Had a fun time with our tandem bike, and went around Coronado island. Actually have been going here for many years. Shuan helped us and made sure we had a great time. Will definitely keep coming back.

Don’t come to this place they give out private information to anyone that walks in to their place. They gave out our phone number to some stranger

Good deal here (compared to the one in hotel del Coronado) — they’re cheaper, only charged me ½ hr even though we rented the bikes for 45 min. (The one at the hotel del, we had to leave an ID to rent their bike — here they don’t which I liked) The staff is very nice, friendly and very helpful — even gave us a map and estimate of how long the bike ride would be from one point to the next. Even lent us bike locks in case we want to stop by somewhere. We got the single surrey for the 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kids under 10) and that was good enough for us — we were sweating already from that ride! The bike path from here to the golf course is more bike-​friendly than the one from the hotel del (where you have to cross busy streets). Overall would definitely recommend and would do this fun ride again!

I thought the service was great up until they carelessly left the dog behind the counter unattended and jumped on my two year old niece. Very disappointed that they could be so careless.

This place is great! My boyfriend and I came here for my birthday and we got the surrey. Where we bike next to each other in this cart sort of thing. 22 for an hour for what we got and it was so worth it! They provide a map for you to see the scenic route. It was so much fun biking around Coronado but it was exhausting too haha. Near the end my legs were dead! Also the customer service is great. The staff was really friendly and organized even when it was super busy and their were plenty of people waiting to get bikes. I definitely want to come back here again and try single rider bikes!

We rented a single bench surrey on Coronado. The rental process was easy and included helmets for the boys (helmets required for kids under 18). They got us set up in our surrey, the sweet girl took our picture in the surrey, and off we went.
We took the surrey on the path along the water, crashed a wedding (not really, but we got to see a beautiful wedding along the water), and we waved and laughed with others in their surreys. Such a wonderful way to see the water, boats, Coronado bridge, and make memories. My boys giggled the whole time! Oh… and we loved to ring the bell!!! When we took the ferry back to 5^th Avenue, we chatted with others we passed in the surrey and made some new friends!
Keep in mind it is a bit of a workout especially if you are pedaling uphill and I consider myself in good shape. We were sweaty at the end and my back was sore (bruised) the next day from pushing on the back of the seat.
We paid upon return (they time stamp when you leave and when you return and charge by the hour). The cost for us for one hour was $ 22. SO WORTH IT!
DEFINITELY recommend renting a surrey if you are on Coronado!!! The ONLY reason for the 4 stars is the parking lot location. You start and return in a parking lot that for us happened to be quite crowded at the time we were there (Friday afternoon of Easter weekend).

Even though it is such a touristy thing to do, a Coronado trip isn’t complete unless you rent a surrey.
My husband and I had good friday off and since my daughter attends a catholic school, her school decided to close also. My husband and I knew that we wanted to be near the water on such a beautiful day and do something active. Then it hit me! «Want to head down to Coronado and rent surrey?» He agreed but know that I think about it, I don’t think he knew what he was agreeing to. My husband is from the Bay Area and wasn’t familiar with a surrey. It slipped my mind and just described it as a family bike. LOL! In reality it looks like a bicycle version of a carriage. I explained that our daughter would be riding up front in a «basket.»
I called ahead because I had a feeling that they would be busy. The gentleman on the phone explained that they didn’t take reservations and yes, they were busy but he did have a few one bench surreys available and that a few more should be coming in shortly. The shop is located directly behind the Canelas and although they were busy with many families I was acknowledge and attended to right away. The lady took down all of my information and lead my husband to the helmet area for our daughter. She asked if we would be planning on stopping anywhere. I told her I wasn’t sure and so she gave me a bike lock with a paper of the combination.
My husband and I enjoy staying active and I can say that we are in pretty good shape and we were surprised what a workout we got from peddling! We kept laughing because we had to take a few breaks in between. Our daughter enjoyed sightseeing and people watching as she shouted «Faster guys» at us! My husband and I enjoyed the scenery and some good laughs.
Returning the bike was a cinch! We left the bike in the return zone, dropped of the helmet in the «used helmet» bin and paid. I’m pretty bummed out that I had forgotten about this up until today. We’ve had a ton of family members visit us this week and they would have enjoyed this. Next time I’ll have to bring every visitor we have!

Came here with a group to take a scenic ride through Coronado. It being a holiday weekend they were pretty busy, but they moved fast and we were on a bike in no time.
They briefly explained the bike path around Coronado, but we got lost and went the wrong way which sucked bc we didn’t get to cycle by the beach (went to another bike rental place a couple days later and did the beach path lol).
Bikes were in ok condition– gave us a basket for our purses
Price– cheap!
Service– friendly and fast

Try coming on a weekday or early on the weekend to avoid the crowds. Some parts of the path get pretty crowded/​narrow so it gets difficult to maneuver around pedestrians, cars, and tourists!

Quick service and awesome location if you want to bike around Coronado area. Pretty decent pricing for people who do not own bikes. I usually just do the $ 8 bucks an hour which is more than enough to roam around the island. They also have a 4 seater bike as well which can be pretty fun but it’s very tiring to maneuver.
They provide a nice bike trail map for Coronado. Recommended! I have come here multiple times. Riding a tandem bike can be pretty fun and challenging! They have another location as well but I prefer this location better because of location and parking ease.
