Good food, fair prices, but not if you are in a hurry. This is a mall town not a big city diner. Slow down and enjoyed?

Best breakfast in town! They will custom make things to add ingredients or leave things out for special diets. :-) yum

Delicious food but horribly LOUD atmosphere and slower service. Part of the issue is that they get so overcrowded most weekends that everyone is too busy.

It’s pretty much just«OK». Portland style brunch lines on the weekends would make you think you’d have the dining experience of a lifetime, but there’s really nothing special about the average menu and slow service.

This is our second stop at the Broken Yolk and it was really good both times. First time was a week day and it was busy but not packed. Second time was a Saturday and they are definitely a local breakfast hot spot. The food was delicious, I enjoyed an omelet the first time that was perfectly cooked. This time I had the Big Bad Wet Breakfast Burrito. I have to say the later was out of this world. My wife got the Corn Beef Hash with cubes of delicious meat. The service is very friendly the only draw back is they were a little slow getting our order taken, but they appeared to be under staffed, not sure if that is the norm or not so I border on a 4⁄5 rating. This will definitely be a spot us to stop at going forward when we come down to OSU to pick up the kid or drop him off.

Hobo hash and broken mocha are ckassics. Always filled with couples and families, expect a wait. Don’t even try on mom/dad’s weekend. Prices are moderate to high, but the food is very good. Try to get a bar seat for quick service!

Best breakfast place in Corvallis. Everything we’ve tried, we’ve liked. Service is friendly — can be a little slow when busy. And they’re busy A LOT!!! Ambiance is extremely casual. Play area inside for children. Can be noisy because of high ceilings and hard surfaces. Not open for dinner.

I’ve been to the Broken Yolk a couple of times now. So far it’s the only breakfast place in Corvallis I’ve been to. Their food is quite delicious and flavorful, and it’s the main thing that keeps me coming back. Their home fries are especially delicious. Most of the menu items hover around $ 10 for a meal, so not super cheap but not outrageous either. I do have one major complaint about The Broken Yolk, however, and that is the waitstaff… which leaves a lot to be desired. Both the times I’ve been there, I’ve noticed their system of seating guests is really bizarre. The first time I was there, it WAS really busy, and we were told to expect about a 20 – 30 minute wait. Since I was really excited to try the food, I didn’t mind. However, the host started to seat people that came in way after us. There was one group,(the same size as mine) who the host offered to seat at the bar so they didn’t have to wait. After that happened, I mentioned that I would be happy to sit at the bar too if that meant I didn’t have to wait longer… because at that point I’d been there about 20 minutes. Once we got seated, the waitress assigned to our table was really cordial, and the wait for food/other service was not unreasonable. Today, I ate at The Broken Yolk again, and I witnessed more of this irregular seating. My group of two came in and signed in after a group of four, and another group of two. The group of four had already been waiting a long time… but regardless the host seated my group, and the other group of two before that group of four… And there were several tables open and clean that they could’ve been seated at. Those people ended up leaving, and I don’t blame them. Maybe I just don’t understand their system, but today I witnessed two other groups walk out because the host was either ignoring them, or seating people in the wrong order. Again, once we were seated there were no problems with the waitstaff. But I feel that The Broken Yolk either needs to up their host game, or simply just make it a «seat yourself» situation… because something isn’t working. Despite this, I would recommend The Broken Yolk at least for the food alone, which gets most of my rating. My advice to future diners: ask to sit at the bar if you can.

Food here is decently priced for its giant portions. I almost always get the Spanish Omelets here. Every time I try something new, I’m disappointed and go back to the Spanish Omelet. The order came with a side of homefries and bread(I chose English muffins). Their jam is in squeeze bottles on every table — my friends love the strawberry jam. I just think it’s overly sweet and omit the jam. Homefries are the best here — seasoned well, crispy, and hot. The Spanish Omelet is giant — I only ate ¼ of it because I was going to the gym later, but I split the rest of it into 3 more meals. Service is friendly, but it took us a long time for us to get our check. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday morning, so maybe they were understaffed.

DELICIOUS! :D My favorite breakfast spot in Corvallis. If you go on the weekends, generally expect to be waiting half an hour for a table. It’s a very cute ambiance inside, family friendly. for how busy they get, the service is usually pretty solid. whatever you order, I would def. recommend not skipping out on the toast… just for the jam. it really is as good as people say. runny, but great. I personally love the pigs in a blanket and the hobo hash, but im sure anything here would be good. Come hungry, you will leave uncomfortably full.

I ordered Hobo hash. It was really good. Everything was cooked good. People are right about the jam. Its good because it’s a little bit runny. The place is nice. Almost everything here is decorated. All of the countertops and tables have pictures lamenated. There are clusters of posters and pictures of art all over the walls.

A good local breakfast spot in Corvallis that I really want to come back again for. Keep in mind that you may have to wait on the weekend but, it will be worth it. I had the Slamwhich which is just French Toast bread breakfast sandwich which was really filling. However the stars of the place are the crunchy home fries and house jam which I highly recommend getting an extra side of toast for. The service is nice and speedy with good prices. The friends I went with were OSU Alumni and said it is the best breakfast spot in town and I believe it.

I recommend their skillets and a side of bacon(if you’re a bacon hound like me…). There coffee is solid and reminds me of a cup of joe with grandma on the farm. Service is awesome here! The staff are fast and friendly. If you’re visiting Corvallis, definitely start your day here!

In spite of some negative reviews, I took my family here so we could soak up some of Corvallis’ downtown. Got to the restaurant at a very busy packed time. Our wait however was less than 10 minutes. Coffee was great tasting and we were not charged for refills. Pancakes, hashbrowns, home fries were all very good. The fried eggs were perfect and farm fresh. I really liked the cornbeef hash, yet I was disappointed that is was not what I know hash to look and taste like. A bit too chunky and too much thyme for what I was wanting, but good nonetheless. It was enjoyable.

I am a regular customer and typically love coming here, I am a huge fan of the Hobo Hash and I was excited today for it. Until it took a turn for the worst… My hobo hash comes out and I began eating until I noticed a nice little black hair that did not belong to me nesting gently upon one of my home fries, the little guy startled me so bad that I lost my appetite and left a good amount of my hobo to be consumed by the trash. I am unsure when the next time I will be back because it was a traumatic experience, so for the time being, Broken Yolk let this loyal customer get away.

The food is so good here, I could come here any time of day, that they are open. The Chai Tea Latte is obviously a custom blend, and out dices their coffee any day. The Chicken Fried Steak comes with 2, and is so big, it comes on 2 plates, so a good choice if you want to split a breakfast. Awesome décor and wait staff.

We decided to stop for breakfast, on our way to the coast. It was early and it was very busy.(to me, that says alot about a business, busy is a good thing). We only had to wait for about 5 minutes, and were seated by some very kind servers. All the wait staff were outstanding, kind, knowledgeable and helpful.(Thank you). The place was busy, and once our order was placed, did not take too long for it to reach our table. We were very happy with the quality of the food. It was hot, and very tasty. I had the sausage and egg breakfast, and it was done very good. We will certainly be back and would invite all our family and friends to stop by and check it out.

I have no idea why this place has so few reviews because it has been there since 2007 and it was packed on a Tuesday morning! This is a little jewel. The coffee was amazing, the portions are huge, the service was great and the food was delicious! We will definitely return for breakfast. Which is served all day. We had the hobo hash and the 3rd street something both were served with the home fries and toast. The home fries are certainly the way to go here as they are crispy. Yummy!!!

I put off visiting this place because of the mixed reviews(and because I already have a go-to breakfast place in Albany) but I was pleasantly surprised. They seated me immediately on what looked to be a fairly busy Friday morning. I settled in with my laptop and a generously sized cup of coffee, prepared to wait for my food, but the waitress brought my order almost immediately(within five minutes). I ordered the huevos rancheros with black beans and they were delicious — I cleaned my plate. Gooey cheese, perfectly prepared eggs, and a generous amount of guacamole and sour cream. This item is listed as spicy on the menu, but I did not find it so(every table is stocked with Cholula and chipotle pepper sauce though, so I was able to add additional heat). In all — low-key diner atmosphere with quick, friendly service. Nothing fancy, but a good place for breakfast if you happen to be in Corvallis.
