Dan was the best! This is my go to for shoes thanks to his unbelievable service and going out of his way to help me. Great experience. No pressure just help! This kind of service is few and far between these days. THe shoes speak for themselves, but the level of service was above and beyond. Make this your place to buy shoes. Ask for Dan!

I stopped by at the AA today to check out their collections. Their products speak for themselves but I am here to complement about the service.
I was greeted by a gentlement behind the counter who was working on lableling repair needed shoes. He approached me and my girl friend with out presure which I liked bc now days if you walk in to a store, especially high end store, its very difficult to shop with out being pressured.
Anywau, he was very knowledgeble with the products, explained well about the repaid service that AA is famous for!

If you are a student, ask about their discount. For limited windows (near graduation, I think), you can land a pair of Parks, belt, and shoe trees for $ 350.

Allen Edmonds is definitely worth the money. Excellent product and superb customer service.
The leather that they use is like no other. My shoes have barely creased after months of wear and the leather just gets more and more comfortable. I had a pair of Cole Haan that I purchased from Nordstrom that showed much more wear in the same timeframe and was ultimately destroyed after a year of wear.
I was fitted by Sean and he spent a lot of time explaining the anatomy of my feet to me and how they would fit into my new shoes. Since I was flat footed, he demonstrated a way to lace my shoes so that I would get the best support and not get bowing in my shoes around the ankles. Needless to say I’ve had a great time wearing Allen Edmonds. The shoes fit like a glove and provide comfort for 8 to 10 hour days at work.
Nick is a terrific salesman as well. He is soft spoken, gentle, and kind. He showed a lot of patience when I tried on my shoes and it made for a very comfortable purchasing experience. I bought 4 pairs of shoes from him recently (Strand, McAllister, Park Ave, and Fifth Ave) and it actually saddens me that I won’t be getting to buy shoes from him that much anymore since these shoes last so darn long! Definitely coming in to see him when I need my shoes recrafted or I need to restock on shoe care supplies.
Overall I’d recommend Allen Edmonds. They have a superior staff in regards to fitting and selling their shoes and the customer service is on par with Nordstrom. They also work to price match for you so that helps out a lot.

AE was one of those pairs that I’ve always dreamed about getting and a few weeks ago I finally pulled the trigger! I purchased a pair of (Rogue Cap-​toe Oxford) on AE’s website and received it last Friday. The problem was one side of the shoe was slightly creased. Disappointed, I decided to contact AE’s customer service to express my concerns. Since I purchased them directly, they advised me to go to the local store to see if they had any extra pairs or if it can be fixed. Me and my roommate decided to go to the store that day and that is where we met Dan.
Dan was the most coolest, honest, laid back, and knowledgeable (shoes) person I have ever met. It went from him looking at my shoes to, teaching me on how to take care of my shoes. The importance of putting on polish, dressing, shoe tree. A 5 min trip turned into 30 minutes of learning about shoes and also AE’s history.
Needless to say, the service I have received from an AE’s employee was impeccable and would be one of the main reasons I would be a customer for life!

What can I say about AE that you don’t already know…
Went in for a new pair (loyal customer for years), worked with Sean Michael to verify sizing again and talk about what I was looking for in a new pair. Sean went over and above on the fitment with the style, explaining the different aspects of lasts, sizing, and how the shoe should fit. On top of that, Sean found the exact pair I was looking for at a significant discount… so much so that I wound up leaving with two new pairs to add to my collection.
I highly recommend AE, as well as going to Sean M at the SCP location.

I was really let down by the customer service at this location. I had to ask for help despite 3 or 4 employees who seemed to be available. The employee I spoke with seemed annoyed that I had done my research online before coming into the store. He said factory seconds wouldn’t be the same size even though the website says cosmetic defects only.
They didn’t have my size and the employee offered no solution. I really wanted to purchase a pair or two because of the brand’s strong reputation, but I was so turned off by the service that I left. I felt like I wasn’t welcome there.

I’m always treated like royalty when I go into this store. I’ve dealt with the same handful of employees here over the last 5 years, which is great! feels like a small town family store even though its a large company.

What justifies spending $ 300-​$ 700 on a pair of shoes? Allen Edmonds’ quality and experience. The shoes are phenomenal, well made and insanely comfortable. I purchased a two pairs on 11÷23÷15 from this location, was respectfully greeted and assisted by Sean (who knows his stuff), and got measured in store. If I hadn’t gone in and gotten measured I would have ordered the wrong size online for sure. Sean was able to look at the shoes I was wearing when I walked in and instantly knew they were the wrong size for me. He explained to me how he could tell and it was very interesting. Another benefit to seeing the shoes in person is that they differ slightly from the pictures offered in the catalog.
Sean assured me that the shoes should feel snug, not tight, he said «just wait ’til you break them in, they’ll feel like a glove» I usually prefer roomier shoes, but I trusted his opinion. I was doubtful when I got home and wore my shoes, they were somewhat stiff and uncomfortable and I was considering exchanging them for a larger size. I wore them for 4 more days and it was like magic, they broke in and felt as if they were made just for me. So if I can offer any advice, it is to trust the Allen Edmonds’ associates, they will help you get the most out of your shoes.

Quality Made in USA shoes that look awesome. Great customer service from Sean and Byron. I have bought many pairs here and would recommend to anyone.

Some fashion bloggers claim Alden is a better brand than AE. I’ve had both and I can swear that Allen Edmonds is, by and far, always the better shoe. My AE seconds are better than my 1^st quality Aldens. AE’s just fit and they usually fit right from the moment you take them out of the box. Truly great shoes. Most of my shoes are AE 1^st quality. I’ve always loved going to the store looking around trying on the shoe, buying it, etc. Taking it home and opening the box to look at that lovely red flannel bag is great!
HOWEVER, AE has switched from a rich looking red flannel bag with gold lettering to an obviously cheaper white flannel bag with black lettering. It looks cheap, it feels cheap, it is cheap. The first pair of shoes I got with white bags I assumed were factory seconds or a mistake. You should have seen my face! Heck you should have seen the face of the poor salesperson who had to explain that this was the «new» bag! I was so shocked I didn’t even buy the shoes!
AE makes the best shoes in the world and they make them, mostly, here in the US. I only buy the US made ones. I have enough shoes that I don’t need to buy another pair of dress shoes probably in my life. But I buy them because I enjoy them, I wear every pair I own, and I hope to keep buying them. But cheapening the experience and the look of the product is NOT the way to build future sales.

I’ve purchased several pair of shoes from this store. Always a fabulous customer experience working with Sean Peters. I’ve ordered in a few that I didn’t end up liking and he’s always been great at making the exchange process easy. I drive over to the store instead of ordering online because I know Sean will make sure I’m getting exactly what I’m looking for as fast as possible. A breath of fresh air to see a company match a premium, made in America product with five-​star customer service.

I ordered online the Sanford clearly too small for my feet and wore it a few times (clear signs of wear). Hoping for help, Dan (store manager) was able to exchange the shoes for me for my correct size at no additional charge. The best service I have ever received anywhere. I was so inspired, I bought the Strand in Walnut Calf as well. The staff is very knowledgeable and have a passion for shoes. I will be a lifetime customer of Allen Edmonds.

Great shoes, the service here is great. Friendly and helpful workers there the atmosphere was low key and the people are like that too. Walked in with sandals and still got treated like a vip. The shoes are pretty expensive though.

Having purchased two pairs of AE shoes (Sanford and Spencer) in Size 5E back in the ‘90s, I recently discovered them to feel a little tight due to my having to wear business suits for work now. To my dismay, I noticed that AE no longer offers shoes smaller than Size 6; Size 6.5 in certain styles. I made the mistake of ordering online, buying two pairs of AE shoes (McAllister and Strand) in Size 6D as a basis to start my work wardrobe with.
Wondering if I had made a smart purchase, I decided to pop in on the AE shop at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa to try on the shoes in the size I had purchased. I had the good fortune of meeting Sean Peters, the assistant store manager, who promptly allowed me to try on a pair of Size 6D shoes and subsequently evaluated the fit. Sadly, Sean told me that Size 6 was too big and that D was too narrow. Sean measured me to be a Size 5.5E…
As the sinking feeling that I wouldn’t be able to wear a new pair of AE shoes again began to set in, Sean enthusiastically told me that, providing that they have the uppers available, the AE factory could custom craft me shoes in my size/​width for a nominal surcharge. I sheepishly admitted to Sean about my purchase from the AE website and he was quick to offer several suggestions to remedy my dilemma: ship the shoes back or return them to the store for a refund. I asked Sean if I could simply order up the McAllister and Strand shoes in the appropriate size and pay for the custom fee, and Sean made arrangements to make this possible! I also asked Sean if I was only limited to certain shoes, but he told me that as long as the shoes I wanted are constructed with a leather sole and that the factory had the upper available, anything could be made for me!
In about three weeks time or so, I’ll be the proud owner of a pair of McAllister wingtip oxfords, a pair of Strand cap-​toe oxfords, and a pair of Jomoc derby shoes (I couldn’t help myself…)! Thanks, Sean, for creating a monster out of me!
If you have smallish (or overly large) feet, don’t hesitate to drop in this store to speak with Sean or another associate! AE can make shoes as small as Size 4 and, if I recall correctly, as big as Size 16!

I drove to Costa Mesa from LA because all the nordstroms had terrible sales people and no inventory. So, I went to the Allen Edmonds store in Costa Mesa and was greeted warmly by Dan, the store manager. He spent 20 minutes with me explaining the different styles in the shoes and helping me to understand the differences. I finally bought the McAllister wingtip, and man is it great. I am so pleased I think I’m gonna call him up and have him ship me the same shoe in bourbon color. Make no mistake, Dan Stratton makes it a buying experience, as opposed to just a transaction.

Allen Edmonds is the only name you need to know about Men’s dress shoes.
I have been a loyal AE customer for years now and absolutely love their products. The quality of the leather is unquestionable, the fit and feel is stupendous and the recreating service makes the value of the shoes second to none.
The customer experience at the Costa Mesa location does not disappoint. I have purchased a pair of both Park Avenues and 5^th Avenues from Dan and he is a complete professional, tried and true. I look forward to my next visit to Allen Edmonds and would gladly recommend them to anyone that is in the market for some dapper kicks.

Dan is awesome! He provided great consulting and patient enough to help me determine my true shoe size. We went back and forth testing various shoe sizes and widths to find the best fit for me.
Awesome getting full attention of a experienced shoe salesman who actually knows his wares. Far too many times I had to deal with sales people who don’t know anything about shoes from the other department stores in the mall.
Great customer service and very helpful with any questions you may have. I highly recommend stopping by this store and finding out your true shoe size. I was very surprised that I can fit perfectly into some EEE (ultra-​wide) width shoes.
Yes, the shoes are pricey but you are getting a handcrafted Goodyear welt & genuine leather, which any brand with said features are normally in this price range anyways ($ 200+). A quick research on the internet and the AE is highly recommended on many forums for good reason.

Besides food and wine, shoes and fashion are a weakness. I love classic shoes, like wing tips. But I also have no problem having my wing tips in brown suede and in brown leather/​tan linen, either. Or monk straps. Double monk straps. Blue bucks. And so on.
I have maybe 35 pairs of shoes, which I’m guessing is on the high end for most guys. My feet are biggish (12) and wide. I’m hard to fit. My favorite shoes come from Allen Edmunds. They have lots of styles, most in fact, in my 12EEE size. (They have shoes in widths from the narrowest up to EEE.).
Their shoes are not cheap, but they are made to last. And most can be re-​furnished by AE to near-​new condition for a fraction of the cost of a new pair.
This shop in South Coast Plaza has most of the current styles. If you find something you like and it’s not in the store, they will ship free to your home. If you buy from AE online and you need to return or exchange what you brought, you can bring them in.
If you are a shoe junky and haven’t yet tried AE, stop in. If you just need a good pair of shoes that are classy, and maybe a little edgy at the same time, AE is worth the time. Shoes and cool socks… check out

This review is not about the quality in shoes but the service at this store. Drove 1 hour to this particular store.
I walked in and the two employees one young (20s?) one old (50s) just looked at me, not much of a friendly greeting. Ok i let that go, no big deal.
I went to the back of the store where the Dalton boots because that was what i was going to buy. I waited for one of the guys to come and ask if i needed help.
Finally after a few minutes and sitting there I grabbed the pair and went to the front of the store and asked for my size. They finally got my pair and brought them out to me. I tried them on checked out and left. The elder fellow just glanced no thank you, that’s great service. You would think a high end mens shoe store would have better service. I get better service from ALDO. I mean i spend $ 400+ for crappier service than if i spend $ 50 at another store.

Do not judge customers when they walk in, even if they are young does not mean they cannot afford this shit.
