Assouline Bookstore

One of my favorite stores in South Coast Plaza, and I finally got to get the book of my dreams…
Stopped by here the other day just wandering the mall with my wife, saw the giant book tribute to automobiles. called «The Impossible Collection» and was stunned that they were allowing me to take a look at it and flip through the pages. This rare, 1,000 piece limited edition stunner was displayed beautifully along with every other book in the store. Best of all was the service.
Our sales representative, Tran, was so helpful and passionate about the books in the store. She along with her manager/​owner were able to work with me and my wife to get us a couple books at the prices we wanted. Needless to say, my wife and I are now the owners of that amazing automotive masterpiece and for the icing on the cake, the manager himself said he will be delivering and setting up the book and its display at my house.
Of course the prices are high, but the quality is definitely there and with the sales staff made us feel like there was no snooty «don’t touch this» or «don’t touch that» warnings that might be expected at a store like this. I love the passion and the way this particular location has been set up. Thank you Tran for your help, I will definitely be back!

definitely a great addition to south coast and hopefully to orange county’s culture! everyone is always extremely helpful and kind, and the simple gift wrap is a nice touch. there have great titles usually revolving around art, travel, fashion, and design and they have books from $ 25 on up (so dont let its location in the mall scare you). definitely worth a stop when in the plaza

Yesterday I was amazed to find a wonderful bookstore/​gift shop. The books are for that part of us that still longs for a good read that is not electronic. They are presented beautifully and would make great gifts for a coffee table, studio, home office or anywhere you can relax. So many different subjects they even have vintage books. I believe they were part of a 60 minutes show recently? They are located on the first level between Nordstrom & Macy’s at South Coast Plaza.

Simply spectacular books and service! These books are usually about a designer, a trend, cars, jewels, travel… collectors will dig! Oh and make sure you check out the special Chanel collection in a leather, quilted Chanel case. Divine.

Wow, what a store!
Just passed by and noticed a bookstore! At South Coast Plaza? Cool!
South Coast Plaza was home to a couple really cool bookshops, like Rizzoli and Brentano’s. But regrettably, they both closed down. A mall is not a mall without a good bookstore, seriously. (Well there is Border’s but it is across the ways at Crystal Court)
Anyway, I used to work at South Coast Plaza, so spending lunch or dinner hour roaming a bookstore was a real treat.
So happy SCP decided to open Assouline by the Nordstrom wing. Really enjoyed wandering through the store. Arts, fashion, travel, wine books. And some collectibles too.
For all you artsy bookworms out there, Assouline may be a pleasure for you.
