The sales manager, on the other hand, was your stereotypical sleazy car dealer who tries to pull the wool over your eyes. Fortunately, I knew better, and got out before I fell for his dubious negotiation tactics.

***UPDATE ON 06/​13/​16*** To add to my review, I ended up getting a flat tire 3 weeks after buying my car! (Bad luck apparently). I showed up at the service department and Alexander Hamlin helped me without having an appointment and even though it took a little after they closed. He also got me a deal since I just bought the car and made me feel better about the unfortunate situation. Thanks again Alexander!

I worked with Julian Fernando and he was one of the kindest and honest people I’ve worked with! He made the whole experience pleasant and I left extremely happy with my new car and experience. I recommend if you are looking for a new or used Honda that you ask for Julian! He won’t let you down.

I bought my 2013 Certified Accord Sport here. Good car so far. The buying experience wasn’t bad. Everyone knows buying a car requires few hours of waiting. The price and the salesman service were fine.
My issue is that three months later I haven’t received my registration and the bank is yet to receive the title of the car. I’m tired of calling Glenn or the dealership and get ignored. To be exact i went personally to the dealer 3 times and called 5. It’s been 2 weeks and nothing. Always the same excuse. We will call you or call us, blah, blah. I should’ve bought the car at CarMax.
UPDATE: after I received a comment here in Unilocal from the dealer, I was offered to contact the general manager. I called, left a message with my name and number. Never got a call back so I took another star out.

I was looking for a 2016 Honda Fit. I stopped by multiple honda dealers and Autonation Honda in Costa Mesa was by far the best because of their honesty and quality of service. I bought a car here this weekend and worked with Alex Bigwood. I had inquired about a specific vehicle and he had it ready to test drive right when I got there. He was very professional and kind. He even set up my bluetooth for me once I purchased the car! Alex and the sales manager worked together to get me the best deal I had seen for the car I was buying, and I looked at a lot of different dealerships online. I’m a very happy customer. Definitely worth the drive from LA to get this great of a deal. Thanks Alex!

Extremely disappointed at this dealership, walked in to test drive a Honda Fit and Julian wasn’t neither welcoming nor helpful. As I asked him questions I wasn’t treated as a valued customer and even when I asked him for his personal card so I could contact him when I was ready to purchase, he just told me to go to the front desk. Saying «look at my face I’m the only one here who looks like this» and then just dismissed me! Too bad – I’ll just go to different dealership when I buy the car.

Boom Boom party people. I just got a brand new car. Love my Accord. Not pushy staff at all. Every thing went smooth, but Im super smart so that helps. I got the modern steel grey lx edition and it’s got everything I need. Been driving it for 6 months and got an oil change, which was smooth and easy aslo and they even washed it. I recently purchase a car from this store in costa Mesa (Honda). I did not received an owner’s manual with my vehicle. I have called for about two weeks now asking for an owner’s manual. Every time different people tell me that they will call me back (when they speak to my sales person) I am still waiting for that call. I informed them that the car is giving me some sort of warning image and I have no idea what that means. I have now moved to a different county and cannot drive to the dealership to speak to a person. This is the WORST customer service ever I will be placing a complaint against this location with the better business bureau as when I ask to speak to a Manager or someone of authority first I was told he was with a customer and when I said I will hold he was now in a meeting. When I asked for his name so that I could try calling back I was told that there is no manager.

I gotta say THANK YOU! to Alex Bigwood, excellent sales rep., great attention, professionalism, service and treat. Got immediate response from him and complete follow up to achieve the purchase of a beautiful red Civic EX 2016.

As a relatively new US immigrant, I was so intimidated at first to buy my very first car ever in dealerships. Checked Unilocal and found this company as a cut above the rest so I gave it a shot. And as always, the reviews here never disappoint. Elmer was extremely helpful and made sure all my concerns were addressed properly. Combined with my good credit score, I was able to get a great deal for a certified pre-​used Honda Civic. Transaction was so easy and fast, which was really impressive.

Dealerships are hit or miss nowadays… Without a doubt– Great experience here from sales manager Uday Singh. Great communication from the start as we did everything over email. He was clear, thorough and to the bottom line from the beginning. We are due for another car soon and I will be coming back. I highly recommend this place.

This dealership lacks the communication to make the entire car buying process go smoothly.
I had been in contact with Arthur and we tried to get all information regarding what paper work had to be provided to expedite the application process. When we got to the dealership he had failed to mention that I would need to provide my social security card or a copy of it for the Honda Graduate Program. Luckily I brought my diploma so they said that I could come provide my card later, it wouldn’t be an issue and I would still get the graduate deal.
Went to the dealership today to give them a copy of my card since I personally don’t feel comfortable sending that via email/​electronically and as I was there Arthur remembered another thing that was missing (just by chance since I asked) and told me I forgot to initial/​sign one more thing on my application with finance. I waited about 40 minutes to find out from finance that the form wasn’t even at the dealership and they didn’t know why I was told to wait!!! I was so pissed and during this whole time Arthur was no where.
Worst first car buying experience!

While I usually have MAJOR anxiety when I even think about buying a new car, this dealership has really changed my mind! I casually stopped by a few weeks ago with the intention of looking at a Pilot. I didn’t really like the look of the «new» Pilot, as I tend to gravitate to the «boxy» look of the older model. That’s when the current CRV model caught my eye.
I guess I was just lucky when the saleswoman approached me!!! Her name is Leslie and, as it turns out, she’s pretty new in the car selling business. That said, I couldn’t have asked for a better salesperson!!! She was informative and attentive without being PUSHY!!!
I had a few other options for purchasing a car (my credit union has a great car buying program and so does Costco), but I just felt so comfortable with Leslie!!!
I made a price deal with the manager, Brian, a couple of weeks ago. He was also VERY nice, but not PUSHY! Then it came down to acquiring the EXACT car that I wanted. That’s where Jace (another manager) came in. He has been at this dealership for quite a while and has relationships with other dealers.
Jace «did his thing» and «made it happen»!!! It took 2 weeks (from the time we made a deal on the price), but it was WELL worth the wait!!! I was SO excited when Leslie called me on Friday!!! MY car had arrived & was «still wrapped in plastic»! Who knew it would be so difficult to get MY new car in white?!?
I was anxious about going into «the back room» with the finance manager! I mean, they ALWAYS try to sell you WAY more «protections» than you NEED, right?!? My time in «that back room» was spent with Sandeep. He was such a nice guy! He was very knowledgeable about my options, but did NOT pressure me to buy anything I didn’t really want (or NEED)!
I know my review is very «wordy», but I believe in giving credit where credit is due!!!

Don’t you hate it when the car salesmen just try to suck the time and resources out of you and throw additional fees that sounds very unfriendly? You won’t find that here. BILL, ALEX, AND GLENN was extremely professional and friendly with my purchase. It took us three hours for the process. Alex, the sales consultant, was very explanatory with the specs and price. He was very hospitable to my parents and my baby brother. Glenn, the financial manager, was straight to the point and explained the lease details very short and precise. No BS or anything hidden. Best car shopping experience. I highly recommend you to visit and ask for ALEX BIGWOOD as the sales consultant. Everything was offered upfront. Place was clean and orderly. And most of all, we felt welcomed. ⁵⁄₅

We dropped off our Honda Accord on Saturday morning at 8am hoping to get things done early. It was promised at noon and when I called back, the automated recording machine kept asking me to press 1 for service department but never connected me, and hangs up.
It is 1:33pm and I need my car for later today… Not very good service and the cost for oil change and tire rotation is so much more than our other mechanic: south coast auto clinic. waaay better deal and service there! We would not come to this location but we had to bring the car in due to some recall on the Honda Accord…

I usually don’t write reviews but my experience at this dealership is enough for me to take the time to set up an account to review it to deter future customer and I will never refer any family and friends to this dealership. If anyone should ask me or mention to me about this dealership, the only sentence that will come out of me is, «don’t waste your time, their customer service sucks and they won’t care about you.»
My experience: Walking into this dealership, I already had the feeling of its bad customer service. I have walked in a couple of times before but didn’t have the intention of buying and didn’t really care. However this Super Bowl 50 weekend I went in with my in laws with the goal to buy. Upon arriving, 4pm’ish, we saw no sales person, I thought to myself, let’s go walk and look at some car maybe a sales guy will come and greet us to show us around and help us. (Know that in the front of their dealership are mainly used cars and some 2015 models.) We weren’t the only customers there, there were two other customers there too and they weren’t even being helped, they eventually just walked off the lot. Well, after about 20mins of looking at cars, no sales person ever showed up or greeted us, so we walked to the side and was debating whether to go inside or just leave. At this time we also notice the structure in the back and figure that all the new models and cars was parked there. So after about 5mins of standing there and still no sales guy coming out, we walked into the show room and was greeted by «Robert.» The way he greeted us, I believe his desk was right by the window we were standing and talking.
At the first notice, I realized the TV on top of the manger sales counter, with all the sales person sitting down. One sales guy seems like he was working on a deal with a customer. Upon greeting us, I said, «no wonder no one came out to greet us on the lot because everyone is watching the game.» At this point Robert pretended like he didn’t hear it and just asked us what we were looking for and we told him. He guided us to the structure and I ask him, so this dealership doesn’t go to the lot and greet any customers unless they walk into the show room. His answer was we don’t want to go and hustle customers right off the bat when they get into the lot. And if we (us) wanted too, they could do that. What the hell, if I (we) wanted too, than they could do that, when we are already on the show room and we are walking to the structure already. Now, I sort of understand this, but what I don’t understand was we were on the lot for 20mins without being greeted or showed around. So I told him and said, yeah we were on the lot for at least 20mins and we if we didn’t come into the show room, you guys would let us walk away and loose the possible sale? His replied was «YES,» in my head I’m thinking wow, this guy, this is some service and some response.
On the other note, We did look at the car, he did show us the vehicle but in my head the customer service when we first set foot onto the lot and the way he replied to me was already negative. No deal would have happened, I wouldn’t even want them to have our buy.
«Honesty,» would have gone so much further. Just say it’s a slow day and everyone is in here kinda of watching the game. I would understand that so much more and we could of have something to joke and talk about.
I have never walked into a car dealership with the same service as this Auto Nation Honda of Costa Mesa. I have 15years of car buying experience. I have own Hondas to Toyotas and Lexus. At this end, I will not go into this dealership nor will I refer anyone to it. Even if someone ask me about it, I will deter them to keep away and go to another dealership.

I came in for an oil change and I have to say I am incredibly disappointed by the service I have received here. I made an appointment in advanced at 9:00AM and the receipt says the RO was opened at 9:02AM.
I finally walked into the service office at about 11:30AM after waiting nearly 2 and a half hours for this car service and seeing the customers who came in after my time already leave.
The only service I came in for was an oil/​filter change + multi point inspection and I had an appointment at that. I have never had to wait this long for such a simple service. The service advisor even quoted me 1 – 1.5 hours.
I was finally able to get out at about 12:25PM, more than three and a half hours after I originally came. That’s three and a half hours of my Saturday that I lost here. They ended up having to re-​do the multi point inspection because something had happened to my RO form.
My experience has never been this bad at AutoNation and I hope this is an anomaly case and not the new standard for their service.
