History

Established in 1995.

The Restaurant was established in the 1950’s as one of the first International House of Pancakes in Orange County.

In May of 1995, Abdulla Akbar became the new IHOP franchise owner, and in November 2006 ended its affiliation with IHOP and created his own concept

The Reasons for his success is the great service he provides his customers, the mouth watering food he serves, and the full cooperation he gets from his staff, which he considers his family. Manager and server Daniel, assistant manager and server Joel, top chef Roberto, who has been with him since 1995, assistant chef Adan have all contributed to the success of Pancakes R US.

Creating a new and improved restaurant environment with new menu items the restaurant flourished. Here at Pancakes R US we look forward to continuing our outstanding service for our customers for many years to come.

Meet the Business Owner

Abdullah A.

Business Owner

I was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and I came to the United States in 1969. I graduated from Ames Business College in Manhattan, NY and become a business Manager for a prestigious off-Broadway theater for several years. Unfortunately, a few months after the Soviet military invasion of Afghanistan, I lost my brother and three cousins. In December, 1979, I chose to return to my homeland to help my family and fight the Soviets. On February, 1980, I was recruited by the CIA as a liaison. For several years, I put my life on the lin as a liaison for the CIA. Furthermore, I was wounded, captured and tortured by the communists. Finally, I became disenchanted with the struggle because it had become but a mad existence of corruption, treachery, drugs, and even betrayal amongst my own people. I co-authored a book titled The Jewel Carriers based on my experiences in the war, which was published in 1999 and has been optioned by the Hollywood production company Marc Entertainment.
