Nice relaxing atmosphere. They were able to give me an appointment for the same day .Very good massage with hot oil and hot towels.

This place is great! Been here twice now and had a good experience both times. I’m usually in need of a deep tissue massage and the ladies here are definitely strong and can pinpoint the areas that need attention. Would come back for another session!

Super stressed out and sore from overexercise, I was looking for the upscale feel of a Burke Williams-​y spa with the pricing of a Korean spa. That’s exactly what I got here. The facility is super-​clean with a nice, small locker room containing a shower and lots of amenities. The massage room has low lighting and twinkly music like a high-​end spa. Most important, the masseuse did a FANTASTIC job — not too hard, but strong. And the price was incredibly low for 90 minutes. I will definitely be back.

Awesome place, very clean, quiet, and the staff sure knows what they are doing. We always leave feeling relaxed. The price is totally worth it!

I found them on Unilocal and I checked — in to receive $ 20 off for 90mins body massage. I had deep tissue with Linda, she was so strong. Thanks to Linda, I really had a great time.

After reading mixed reviews here I decided to roll the dice and see what happened. I came in for a combo 30 minute body and 30 minute reflexology massage, I think it was either 50 – 60 dollars. The room I was led to was clean. When I asked about which state of undress I should be in, the lady responded that it was «up to me.» I ended up in my underwear only, because I read that they oil up your back.
My masseuse barely spoke English but knew enough to ask about pressure preference. I just let her do whatever she thought was best and for the next 60 minutes she flatted me out. I only fell asleep briefly during the reflexology, but otherwise this is not a place to come for a relaxing massage where they barely touch you. They really work out the knots.
On the way out I needed to use the restroom, where I found out there were lockers and a shower. Why didn’t anyone tell me about those amenities? Is it because I’m paying less than any other customer? I was pretty irate by this. I can see why the reviews are mixed.
Would I come back? Maybe. If you’re in need of a cheaper but good massage, you should come here if you’re in the area. It isn’t really worth an out of the way trip.

if you get the right Asian masseuse, you’re in heaven, They will walk on your back and get all those tight knots out. They are very complete with their massages. They get those often overlooked areas, that others miss, like the shins and feet and those GLUTES! As a man, I sit a lot at my desk and those hammies and glutes are tight. But I walked out a new, refreshed man, last PM. Happy, and relaxed. I would have given them 5 stars, but the scalp massage is off-​putting, they kinda pull your hair, just as you have settled in and are felling good.

I come here with my wife every couple of months. I ask for strong pressure massage and I totally love and enjoy every minute of it. I recommend this place to everyone I know. 4.5 stars.

This is a difficult business to rate due to its inconsistency. We’ve been here on and off for a few years when our usual place is booked, my experiences have ranged from 1 – 3 stars, my boyfriend at 2 – 4 stars.
This is a place to get a functional massage, a step up from Asian «foot massage» parlors, with nice touches you’d find at western massage places like a locker room. I do laugh every time I drive by as I wouldn’t consider the experience relaxing!
Be ready to lose all sense of personal space. They will get all up in your bizness, even the female areas. Wearing undies when you don’t want your glutes worked on isn’t going to cut it. You need to tell them where they can and cannot work on, and bring it up because they will not ask before they start. They use a lot of oil.
Pressure is subjective but we both like medium pressure, bf a little lighter. At our last experience, his therapist was great, adjusting the pressure with feedback. I kept telling my therapist to lighten up the pressure, but after a minute she’d go back to steamrolling. This made me tense up, making it even more painful. Her movements were very uneven from left to right side.
Facilities have upgraded in the last year, now with private single and couple’s rooms, and a «group foot massage» type room.
Long story short: Be assertive what you want and don’t want, read Unilocal reviews for names of good/​bad therapists. I will update if I ever get the names of ours.

Many thanks to my fellow Unilocalers who alerted me to this place. Without the positive reviews on Unilocal I would have never gone here since the place looks like a «happy ending» type place from the street. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The dressing area here is beautiful with showers, lockers and wrap around towels and sandals to wear as you walk to your massage room. The room is quiet, dark and the massage table is comfortable with nice quality sheets and towels. I don’t believe there was any soothing music playing and if there was, it was so low that I couldn’t hear it.
My therapist was Sophia and I loved her. She is strong without being painful. I like very deep tissue massage and she is strong enough that I had to tell her to ease up just a little on certain spots.
I plan to go back to get some more massage crack to feed my massage habit.

My husband and I had a couples massage here. It was a great experience. When we come to OC again we will def mAke another trip here.

Amazing! I walked out feeling totallyl relaxed and no more tightness around my neck, shoulders, and lower back.
If you like deep tissue, hard pressure (and I mean hard, no joke) to relieve tightness then ask for Monica. She was so amazed on how tight I was and by the end of my 90 min session I was tense free. She even offered if I wanted some water and so I asked for warm/​hot water since I was told that drinking warm/​hot water after a massage is good for your body to rid of toxins.
Another thing that I liked was the cleanliness of the changing room. They offer lockers to lock up your belongings (which you would find in a spa resort) and you can even shower after your session with all of amenities (blow dryer, shampoo/​conditioner, body wash, towels, etc.) AND a major plus for me is that it’s even clean! Seriously!
Upon check-​in, the girl was very nice and very accomodating since I was a walk-​in on Saturday and then I just had to go back one more time before I left LA to catch a flight and so I called in Sunday night and made my appointment for Monday morning.
If I ever come back to Costa Mesa (Santa Ana) I will most definitely be coming back for a massage!!!

I went there as I had bad neck pain, place was clean, but disorganized, first of all for $ 65 an hour I expected a full hour and a decent massage, the first girl was Lisa I say first because then another masseuse (not LMT) came in room, saying she came in on day off (Not my fault) her massage was not as good as first girl and then when done they both expected tips. But to assume they will be tipped? Really? Don’t waste your time there are many other choices, more professional and they can probably speak English.

PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. My hubby and I had the worst experience @60/hour massage each and when we made the complaint to the front desk saying the massage was not good, no consistency and fluidity the lady asked. «You no give me tip?»

Pretty interesting experience. It was Sunday night, I was in major pain and started looking for massage places on Unilocal.Now, we all know what kind of massage places are open at 7 p.m. on a Sunday… but I was desperate. I found one joint that had some good reviews; I called, made an appt, and confirmed I knew where it was (off of Harbor).
Then, a few minutes later when I got in the car, I hit up the Unilocal app again to get exact directions and Total Relax popped up. I didn’t notice the difference and just started driving. (SO random.)
So random, too, because it was ALSO open late on a Sunday. (I was so tired and in so much pain that I didn’t even realize this place was off of Baker instead of Harbor.) I walked in and said I called, and the guy just asked me to wait for a few minutes. Seemed perfectly normal. Plus, the front room was immaculate with a beautiful, framed Chinese tapestry over the couch. So nothing was giving me cause for alarm. In fact, I was quite impressed.
Then he took me back to a changing room that was like a mini Burke Williams! Lockers, lotions, a shower – again, perfectly clean. You could eat off of the floor.
When he started in on my massage, he was really strong. I was, like, «Oh, sorry, you have to go waaaaaaaaaaaaaay softer.» (I used to love hardcore shiatsu, but after my car accident I just can’t handle it.)
He didn’t get bitchy or anything like that. He just lightened up his touch (by like half, which was perfect) and really did an insanely good job. I mean, I’d call him a fucking expert! I asked his name so I could report back to my fellow Unilocalers; he said his name was Long (sorry for the ignorant white-​man phonetic spelling).
At $ 65 for an hour, pretty inexpensive as well.
SIDEBAR: This random experience really piqued my interest because I’m moving to LA at the end of the month so not sure why I was led to this place instead of the other one. (Sorry to get all meta on you.) Maybe the other place was nasty and would’ve jacked up my back/​neck further and the Universe knew I couldn’t handle that right now. Either way, check this spot out. I’ve been getting proper massages for 20 years now, and this place is the bomb!

I decided to revisit the place to see if the service changed. They changed ownership and the interior was very private this time. Each has its own private room.
The service was OK. The person had the right technique like you would expect from a senior professional. Issue was she is just not strong enough to perform the technique for a good massage. I do wish they change the company name so they do’t get associated with the former owner.

Total Relax Spa is exactly what it says and a 5-​star all the way. I am completely relaxed and feel great after each massage. They have the best Shiatsu massage specialist there than any place I’ve been to. They are very experienced and understand your needs. They are caring and help you with having better health.
The place is very clean and quiet, the locker room is very clean and beautiful with full facilities including a shower and private bathroom. The tables are very comfortable to lay on, which for me is very important. I look forward to going every week. I find the staff there very friendly and you can make appointments ahead of time. They also have special cards, 5 massages and # 6 is ½ price. Or you can buy 10 ahead of time and save about $ 100.
I have had several different massage therapists over the years at other places, but Amy is by far the best one I’ve ever had work on me. She makes you feel comfortable and completely relaxed each time. And Amy can tell how tense you are in certain areas and will work on those spots a little more. She is a true expert.

If you’re expecting a traditional Swedish massage, Total Relax is not the place for you. It’s all about Shiatsu, which for some can be the exact opposite of a «totally relaxing» experience. The massage therapists get in there and knead out your knots, walk on your back and leave you worn out.
The space is bright and clean and the locker room is fantastic. Showers, private bathroom, lockers, towels and a plethora of toiletries including mouthwash, deodorant, brushes and more.
I walked in without an appointment and got right in, although it was on a weekday afternoon. Prices are reasonable and it’s clean and feels comfortable.
