My garage door broke on Thursday evening when I came home. Hanson was the only company, the owner, Adam, that replied back that evening on Unilocal.They work on Saturdays and were able to book an appointment. Dan Hester was professional, efficient and fast! They got it working in less than an hour. Definitely 5 on my ratings! Thank you Adam and Dan!

I had my garage door beak of course on a weekend. Hanson was the only door company that answered the phone when I called as opposed to leaving numerous messages with other companies who either didn’t call back or waited until Monday.
Within two hours the technician arrived at my house. Explained in detail what needed to be done. He was very polite and a great representative for the company. I wish I could remember his name. I was very surprised how reasonable the bill was. No extra charge for a weekend visit.
I was so impressed with their service that when I had a problem with another garage door elsewhere I didn’t waste anytime calling around. Again the technicians were so nice and explained everything in detail. Unfortunately the door needed to be replaced. Everything was scheduled and installed with out any problems.
So far I have dealt with three of their employees and have great reviews for all of them. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Juts make one call and have your problem solved.

I bought a house in December and the garage door wasn’t working so well plus I had no remotes for it and the button on the wall to open it was cracked. Hanson did a complete tune-​up of the door, gave me two programmed remotes, and replaced the cracked button. They showed up on time and did a great job. If I have any problems with my garage door, I’d call them again.

Great job done in Windsor, CA for my mother. She needed to have a spring replaced and new weather stripping for the garage door. An appointment was set, the technician came on time, fixed the spring and gave a reasonable quote to replace the weather stripping. He returned during the window of time the following week, readjusted company she had used before and the price quoted was less.
Dan– the technician was thorough, gave great service, was prompt, honored my coupon and was cheaper than other competitors around town. I took a chance with them and I am so glad that I did!

I recently purchased a home and the garage door opener (clicker) was not working. I received a coupon in the mail, and thought to give Hanson a call to get some ideas or options for repair. I received an estimate and decided that it would be best to have a technician come out and see the issue at hand. I had the garage motor installed by Jeramie and he was awesome, personable and professional. I am very pleased with their service and highly recommend his work; and this company.

The first word that comes to my mind is HONEST. They could very easily have told me I needed a new garage door opener. Instead they contacted the manufacturer, got a free motor replacement even though the warranty had expired and fixed the problem. They know what they are doing and work hard to please the customer. I can’t ask more than that.

Hanson came out today to service two broken garage door openers– ours and my in-​laws across the street. The technician was friendly and very knowledgeable– and seemed generally happy for us when he was able to work out both repairs without replacing the units. Definitely recommend!

My garage door sounded soooo bad that I thought I would have to have it replaced. I called Hanson Doors and they were able to come out the next day. The garage door was fine until my friend decided that I needed the door lubricated. Jeramine explained to me by spraying and not using the grease lubricant it dried it out. If am very satisfied with the service and Jeramine friendliness.

A week ago Saturday my garage door stopped working. Bad spring. Again. The garage door is over 30 years old and the springs have been replaced several times so, unless it was a simple repair, I was prepared for a new door.
I called Hanson because they offer ²⁴⁄₇ service. Initially they gave me a 3pm time but Jeramie called shortly after 1pm and said he could come out earlier. Perfect.
Jeramie was great. He quickly determined that the spring was the problem and agreed that a new door was in order. My wife picked out the door and we were given an install date.
Everything went like clockwork. The installer arrived exactly on time and completed the work quickly and efficiently. It’s only been a few days but, so far, I’m completely satisfied. Highly recommended.

Called several competitors like Garage Door Pros that never showed up or called when they couldn’t make just left me hanging, Jeremy was prompt, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable when it came to our Installation, our new Garage door opener wasn’t an easy task by no means but his experience «Nailed It». It all starts from the Top as Adam the «Owner» was prompt with his estimate and «Called» when he said he wood, this may be one of the best Garage Door Company’s on the Market, great job to your entire Team and we will refer you to all of our Friends.

I had them come out to look at my garage door opener since it stopped opening all of the way. I requested they call me when they were 30 min. out from the 2 hour window they quoted because I was working and couldn’t wait for two hours. They called early — 30 minutes before the time window started and the tech was so courteous and full of knowledge to share.
He fixed my garage door opener immediately with a simple adjustment and then performed a full tune up of my garage door and all of the components. I am so happy with them — he was honest, timely and it was a very positive experience. The service call and full tune-​up and the knowledge was invaluable and so worth the $ 59.99 I paid for it!

We received help on the same day we called. Jeremy was very cordial and professional and helped us identify the high priority items that needed to be fixed. Garage door is working now and we were very happy with our experience.

I will give you the good, the bad and the ugly so depending on what you need they may be able to help you.
The Good:
1. Our garage door has been malfunctioning and finally it got so off the track we couldn’t even manually lift it. My car was stuck in the garage! We called first thing in the morning and a serviceman was out within 2 hours.
2. The technician was very friendly. He called prior to his arrival and gave me a 15 minute warning and then was right on time. He was there for about an hour and I got my hours worth. Other than just opening the door, he made some other small repairs.
3. The technician was professionally dressed and had a nice vehicle and had all the tools he needed.
4. When I called the owner Mark to ask questions he was very friendly! [See my ugly comments below.]
The Bad:
1. There was a $ 55 «service call fee» and an hourly charge of $ 90 hr. This may be standard but I thought $ 145 was a little steep just to be able to manually get my car out of the garage.
2. Without asking the service technician covered the sticker of a prior repair company we had used. When I asked him about it he laughed and said «now you will have to use us.» I understand they want to promote the biz but you should really ask before doing something like that.
The Ugly:
1. As someone else posted I too had a huge (over) estimate given to me. We also called the company we had used in the past and there was a $ 200 difference in the estimates. Do your homework and ask questions! Thank goodness I did because I will now save $ 200.
2. I was also told that he would «throw in» the keypad. The company we are going to use (not this one that I am reviewing!) said that it was «included» and aren’t acting like they are doing me a big favor.
3. When I called the owner Mark to ask questions he was very friendly! And believable! I asked him why he had to «throw in» a key pad when another company provided this as standard equipment. He explained to me that the supplier they use only gives them the opener and one remote. They have to pay for the second remote and key pad. I actually told him he should consider another source! If he is telling the truth and is really being nickeled and dimed, he is certainly passing it on to you. Otherwise he is ripping you off.

Update… the garage door didn’t stay working for long :(

I found Hanson Overhead on Unilocal after «the other guys» said they couldn’t get to me for a week! The reviews prompted my call and I am so glad I did.
I got a same day appointment, and even with communication problems (missed calls and wrong phone number) the owner and his folks still worked to get a technician out to handle my broken door before dark! Talk about exceptional customer service! Josh got right to work, fixed the broken door and provided a maintenance check-​up on the other for a very reasonable price.
I am not much for doing reviews but the entire crew at Hanson earned this one! I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know!

The tension spring snapped on our garage door, making it inoperable. I called Hanson at 8:15 AM, and got an appointment set up same day for between 11 – 1. The guys got here ahead of schedule, were able to quickly diagnose the problem, and got right to work. They replaced some brackets that were actually inappropriate for the door setup, replaced the spring, and also replaced worn out bearings. They even got it all done within one hour! Garage is working perfectly again! They even gave me some recommendations on newer types of motors to consider when the current one stops working, and the parts installed came with a 5 year warranty.
Also, I chose to go with Hanson because of the great reviews I read here, and because of the poor reviews I read about Sonoma Overhead Door. I definitely made the right choice!

I’ll make this short and sweet — don’t bother with this company.
I had a single door garage that I was looking to have replaced. The technician came out to my house and quoted me $ 990 for the job. I did do some research prior to having them come out and give an estimate so I knew what to expect. When I told him that was way too high, the guy was pushing really hard saying things like «I will do it right now. … this is the best deal you’re going to find. … and I’ll throw in a keypad for $ 50 (it has a $ 70 value». I even went as far as to tell him that I could pay in cash if he would call Adam (the owner, I think) and get a more reasonable quote. Long story short, he called Adam and still quoted me $ 990.
When I told him that I needed to «shop around» and get a few other estimates he said, «well, the next time that we come out we will have to charge a Service Fee so you should probably just have it done now to avoid that cost». I laughed. …What a joke.
I decided to go with Mark’s Garage Doors (
) who did it in the same day and included everything — sensors, 2 openers, keypad, LiftMaster system, plus he programmed all of our cars and even lowered the garage door becuase he noticed that it was rubbing against our AC insallation. … and he charged half of what these guys quoted… and did a great job. Call Mark!

We purchased a bank owned property last November that needed alot of work. The OLD system on the garage doors did not work. We called 3 companies, 2 said they could not make the current system work and quoted us on entire new hardware, openers everything. Hansens owner Adam did not do that. He repaired our existing system and it works wonderful. A few weeks later the door on my rental was stuck, I called, a tech came out that same day for me (I could not have the tenant unable to enter his garage) and again the service was great. I was told exactly what needed to be fixed and I was given options on some maintenance to help with the life of the system. I give Hansen’s 5 stars and they will be the first I called when/​if needed in the future.

I had a Craftsman garage door opener. Adam came out to look at it, told me the gears were striped and sold me on a new garage opener by Liftmaster. I immediately compared the Liftmaster to a new Craftsman that was on sale at Sears, BIG difference! However I am not handy, so I decided to go with Liftmaster
I took him up on it because I had had an excellent experience with this company when they repaired a very old garage door and got it working, saving me a bundle.
Adam installed the new opener charging me about $ 566 for the opener and outside keypad (installation included). When the keypad failed to work the next day, which was a holiday, he came out immediately to resolve the problem. His customer service was excellent.
I feel as though I received a quality product by virtue of the way it works, the warranty and the customer service behind it.

Thought I was making the right choice supporting the local family business… I thought wrong. I was urged to purchase more than I needed by the owner, luckily I chose not to and was later told by the technician that the extra purchase would have been unnecessary. I’m glad somebody was honest with me. After a $ 1300 purchase of a new garage door, only six weeks after it was installed, I had an issue with it. The owner (Adam) didn’t offer to come out and look at, he wanted to charge me a service fee right off the bat. I would understand if the door had been there for a while, but come on, it had only been six weeks since installation! Stand behind your product and your sweet little family business and do the right thing.
