Took wifey to the gun range, which is somewhat of a rarity because we don’t often have time together to just go shooting, but we made it work today. She (and I) were very impressed with Nick, Kyle, Re: their friendly demeanor and customer service.
The shop had a good selection of rifles and handguns, and the indoor firing range was well-​maintained with competent and friendly Range Officers.
Also, on a Sunday afternoon, Midstate Gun was HUMMING with business. «Thanks, Obama!»

Kyle (Midstate’s owner) is either very good at reading people or very fortunate, because he has assembled a staff that is fantastic across the board. Nick greets us like old friends every time we come in, we’ve had instruction with Wayne, and then my wife got over her 9 mm intimidation during a session with Steve.
The knowledge and experience these gentlemen have is extraordinary, and their calm, relaxing demeanor as they share that knowledge with you makes you very relaxed and receptive to listening and learning. You feel completely safe on the range with Range Safety Officers on hand at all times to answer a question or lend a hand. Zero intimidation or ego… those seem to be checked at the door. Instead, they’re all very supportive, and are always very willing to listen, to offer suggestions and help.
We will be getting memberships here, as we feel like we’re among friends every time we visit. In fact, the only suggestion I can think of to offer to Kyle is to add a Family Membership option to his existing membership options. Other than that, please just keep everything just as it is, because you have a winning formula here!

Great range and staff, I have never bought more than some ammo and targets from the store but the prices were good. The range facility is awesome, always clean and well ventilated. Week nights dont seem to be busy at least the ones that I’m there.

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago to shoot. Well the testing for the range was a good thing and I like that they give you a range certification card. I also like that if you shoot with two people you get an hour for 30 bucks or if you shoot with one its 25. The lanes are good, the guys there are awesome great attitudes and wicked easy to get along with. I have been there twice and I have not had a bad experience yet. The RSO’s are very friendly and are always willing to help. Overall I’m happy with the place. They also have a vast assortment of firearms and ammo. I love that there targets are so cheap, can shoot all day long! Very nice place would recommend to everyone.

They are very friendly. Gotta get my gun here soon and can’t wait. They have a lot of knowledge if you are uncertain.

Everything was great definitely coming back. I’ve gone other places and by far mid state wins!

Love this range! The RSO’s are amazingly helpful and all very friendly. I love that if you share a lane, they give you a discount since they know you cannot both use one lane at the same time. Wish their membership was a better deal because I would join in a heartbeat!

I went in this coventry gun shop with a friend who wanted to buy a firearm for personal protection. We went in and found someone behind the counter eating a sandwich on the counter. I was glad to see that he stopped eating his sandwich until after about fifteen minutes of this guy not giving us any space at all. He kept saying «so what do you want to do?» «Do you want to buy it or do you want to shoot something similar? What do you want to do?» What we wanted him to do was give us some space to think and talk amongst ourselves and not be hounded constantly. Maybe just look at the guns in peace? Go to Cranston Gun & Coin it’s actually in North Kingstown Rhode Island not Cranston, RI. The people at Cranston Gun & Coin are much more laid back and professional.

Hands down best range I’ve ever been to. Staff is all very nice and helpful. I’ve never felt looked down upon for being female. Offers different safety courses, one which I have taken that was very useful. I would definitely recommend Midstate to anyone.

I went in for the range. The staff I have to say is awesome, they treat you like they knew you for years. When I was in the range my gun jammed and the spring to my trigger popped out making my gun inoperable. The gentlemen in the range said to take it to the front desk they might be able to help. Not only did they freeze my range time, the gentleman with the long hair (can’t remember his name lol) took time out to not only look at it but fix it. I couldn’t thank him enough. I drive from tiverton just to go here. Awesome staff awesome place

I want to give a HUGE shout out to the guys at this shop! It is intimidating enough to walk into a gun range/​shop being a female let alone walk in after you dump your motorcycle in the parking lot! After I shot for a bit and went to start my motorcycle it would not start. The guys did everything they possibly could to help me get it started. They were so nice and very accommodating! They even allowed me to leave my bike there overnight until I could get it towed! Besides this group being extremely great the range was the cleanest one I have ever been in! The RSO’s were so friendly and helpful as well… all of the guys went well out of their way to make me feel comfortable being there! I won’t be going anywhere else to shoot I can tell you that! I am not sure they will be as happy to see me coming! Hahaha! Great range and shop… everyone should go check it out!

Great shop and even better range!
They dispense with the overly macho BS some gun stores have in favor of a friendly, fun, and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was willing to answer questions and make you feel right at home. If I wasn’t already an instructor, I’d feel great coming here for classes.
Gun selection is good, and the indoor range is the nicest I’ve seen outside Manchester NH (and even then, I can’t definitively say which is better).
I’m sure I’ll be a steady patron here!

Brand spankin new! The entire staff here is super nice. Their # 1 priority is safety. They’re right on top of everything. You can tell they put a lot of time and into this place. Great facility. Glad to be a member here.

Curious on how this range is, I hear they have 600 members, is it tough getting range time? I’ve been in the store and it looks great!
