Citrus Optometry, the office of Dr. Steven K. Moriyasu, offers the latest technology in complete family eye care. Services our optometrist offers include exams for eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as treatment of eye infections. All exams include a thorough check on the health of your eyes. We offer a wide variety of designer eyeglass frames, as well as a large selection of value frames. We stock the most popular brands and sizes of contact lenses, which means you can usually leave our office with a fresh pair of lenses. Our in-​house lab means our friendly opticians can have your glasses ready in an hour in most cases. Stop by to check out our competitive pricing. Our prices are lower than Lenscrafters. Citrus Optometry has all your optical needs covered. Appointments are highly recommended, but we do take walk-​ins if we have space available.

History

Established in 2007.

Dr. Steven Moriyasu has been providing eye examinations in Covina since 1997. In 2007, Citrus Optometry was opened to provide full optometric care, including contact lenses, eyeglasses, optical lab and treatment of eye infections. We accept most insurances.

I’ve been going here since they opened. Dr Steve is so nice and really really really great at what he does. The staff is super sweet and thoughtful. Everyone here will go out of their way to make sure you are completely taken care of and are completely happy. I really feel at home here. I even moved half an hour away but will still drive here for my annual checkup.

I have been coming to Dr. Moriyasu since he started his practice and was at Walmart; and I was 14. He is by far one the sweetest doctors I know. He has always remembered me and give me great service. I moved out of state for a few years and even when I moved back he remembered me. He always explains everything and give me the chance to really focus with my eyes.
The staff has always been nice and helpful. They have a great selection of glasses. The office is trendy and has a good vibe when you walk in.

Love this place! The staff is super friendly and the Doctor is very thorough. They have a great selection of eye glasses. Just recently had my yearly check up and everything is always explained in detail. The staff is great about making sure I get the best use of my eye insurance coverage. There is very little waiting, if any at all for your scheduled appointment. I absolutely LOVE my new glasses and the brand of contacts that were suggested after struggling to find a brand that I was comfortable with.

The Citrus Optometry in Covina Ca had provided me with a very satisfying care of service. I did not have a vision insurance for one year. I was excited to visit the clinic
with little knowledge about my coverage and expense. Let me tell you, this clinic has the class. Not only the interior design and high tech equipment of the clinic being classic, eye care provider has a class of excellent, honest, and fast care. They help me pick what glass frame fits me, but gave me a choice to pick what is best for me. They do not rush me nor be pushy. Dr. Moriyasu even found fraud on my eye glass that I had received from other Optomety. What make me want to drive 45 mins and come back here is that a smile of the receptionist, Leina, and Dr. Moriyasu, who will follow up and carefully reexam the fitting of my contact lense and eye glass in the exam room. The
atmosphere is very pleasant and the eye contact and the communication from eye care people are very exhilarating. Kind a like having a best tea with best service and you know that the experience you had was Zen! (Zen = Complete and absolute peace)

You can read up on the biography of Dr. Moriyasu on the webpage but it really falls flat to the extent of his care and treatment of his patients!
Although it’s a small office (I believe run by a staff of two or three) everyone has such professionalism and yet the smaller office does offer a more inviting appeal.
The only downside is that because it is a smaller office there is a bit of a wait between the customers. This is only because you’ll see Dr. Moriyasu talking with each patient going over any questions etc. He makes sure that all the patients feel comfortable with all the
I’ve been to Lenscrafters and other eye glass clinics and I hate the feeling of being rushed or duped into buying extra crap I don’t or want. Citrus Optometry has the complete opposite appeal and has the family-​run vibe going for it.
I came once when I had this wicked eye infection and Dr. Moriyasu took care of it without any problem!
Plus random statement? Dr. Moriyasu totally has this radio DJ voice that makes you feel that much more comfortable. You should ask him to read you a bed-​time story.
