I’m filling a grievance against Sima Khavaran for filling a false claim with my insurance, Delta Dental, for work that was never done.
It’s going to take me weeks to clear this out and hopefully get my record corrected in order to get some work done and not having to pay out of my pocket. This dentist created such a mess with my insurance and now is working under a different dental group!
Make sure you check what they claim to your insurance.
In my case was a total scam!
Also be careful if they force you to do x-​rays for a a deep cleaning. You are not in any way obligated to do that. It is your choice and you can decline that if you want.

Sima Khavaran, and all of her staff were very welcoming. I was recommended here by my sister and I truly see why she was raving so much about her visit. You could really feel the good energy in the room, and the setting itself looks really nice. They play movies while your waiting so the wait does not feel too bad, and it was really short anyway. Dr. Sima was really professional, and I felt really comfortable in her hands, and the staffs too.

Just went in for my quarterly cleaning, loved it! How many people can say that? Dr. Khavaran is so thorough and her dental hygienist, Michelle was awesome. I feel they always have my best dental health in mind during visits. Love my dentist!

Dr. Sima and her staff are great. They try to be as accommodating a possible when setting appointments. I’ve had to reschedule a couple of times at the last minute and they were able to squeeze me in soon after without making me wait weeks. I have been a patient for about 6 months and am very happy with the results so far. I can’t wait to remove my braces and have that beautiful smile that I know is behind them!

Yes, Dr. Khavaran is a truly caring, understanding, and very easy to work with.
Wow, for a picky, shy or scardey person — this dentist is awesome.
I am very picky about dentists as I have had dental work constantly for decades from a fellow UCLA graduate who I used to go to but have moved too far away. Dr. Khavaran is close by and I thought I would see if fellow Unilocalers were truthful.
Yes, Dr. Khavaran is very caring, honest, and an expert in her profession. When I quizzed her on small details such as:
— seat tilt limit
— local gel pre anesthesia concern
— dental anesthesia choices
— high sensitivity to pain
— gag reflex sensitivity
Dr. Khavaran passed with flying colors! She was able to accommodate me with my concerns.
I went in for broken pre molar and she put me at ease immediately, addressing my concern first then she went to her concerns.
I am very picky when it comes to dental anesthesia so I wanted to know if she would allow a patient to select his own anesthesia. Sure enough, she said no problem — no extra cost — and always in stock for people like me!
The procedure was a crown to restore function to the tooth and she was very quick to perform gentle dentistry.
She even has Saturday hours too!
My dental PPO insurance covered it all so I was very happy on top of all the benefits.
Looks like she will be my dentist for many decades…

Went in today to get my wisdom teeth removed. Talk about a speedy process! The dentist was very nice and helpful. He gave me a call at night to check in on how I am doing. I have never had this type of service. The process was quick and painless. And again the staff is so helpful and just so nice! Can’t find this type of service anywhere.

I have been going to Covina Smile for almost 2 years. The customer service from all the staff is excellent. Dr. Sima and staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and important. They also take the time to get to know you personally. I recently did the 6 month smile program, which helped align my teeth. The adult braces were clear, and most people couldn’t tell unless I was directly in front of them. Every 2 – 3 weeks I checked in for maintenance. It was easy to do, affordable, and it went by super fast! I am so impressed with the results!

I don’t usually write reviews but this place is just incredibly amazing. Even my little baby loves hanging out there as the Team genuinly care that everyone stepping in is getting spoiled.
I have been a client there for about 3 years and I have to drive a long way to get there but its definitely worth it. Dr. Sima has magic hands, Alycia is just the sweetest and staff are very professional, the level of service there is above Par, its a clean place, they respect your time & schedule, advanced level of technology used in their rooms and even their reservation system allows me to communicate with them via text which is awesome given my ongoing meetings. Highly recommended !!

I wanted to update my review as I seen some people’s reviews that are not fair.
This is the best dentist you can find EVER! No other dentist will take the time to explain
everything they do and how will benefit you at the end. Dr. Sima is very professional and very
efficient. Her support staff is very nice as well. The quality of Dr. Sima’s work is the best!!!
I drive 45 minutes to their office and have been doing it since they’ve opened. The drive is totally worth it. I discovered Dr. Sima by chance, when I moved and I went with her once she
opened her own practice.

First off I am very picky about my dentist and the office for cleanliness. This place exceeded my expectations.
You walk in and it’s decorated very tastefully and extremely clean so A+ for that then your greeted by very sweet receptionists who make you feel comfortable which is sometimes hard to feel in a dentist office.
Then you meet Dr. Khavaran… She is seriously the nicest most down to earth dentist you will ever meet. You can talk to her like you have known her for years and she will treat you like that as well. Not only is she easy to talk to but she is so professional and takes care of your dental needs with swiftness and care.
I highly recommend this office especially for those who already feel uneasy about the dentist. Dr. Khavaran will make you feel more comfortable than any other dentist you will ever visit.

Since I was a child I have been to different dentist offices. They were either painful or way over priced. My parents were recommend to Dr. Sima and none of use have left since! Dr. Sima caters to every single need that we have with our mouth. My little brother had a little loose tooth and called Dr. Sima personally at 8 o’clock at night to ask her what to do. She walked with him step by step on what to do about his little loose tooth. She is so heartwarming and so caring for her patients that it makes you feel very welcomed. I couldn’t have never asked for a better dentist. She is completely unparallel to any dentist in the world. Thank you so much Dr. Sima and all the lovely ladies that assist her!

I’m giving this review a 2 stars because of my personal experience.
I found Covina smiles after seeing an ad on groupon for Invisalign. Always wanted to get braces but just kept postponing due to the fees. So I thought it was a good deal.
Called them prior of buying and they told me to come for a consultation. The receptionist and the doctor was super nice. She explained Invisalign relies a lot on the patient commitment and she suggested 6 months braces. It was $ 700 cheaper than Invisalign. However, if I wanted Invisalign, she was fine with that as well.
Since I never heard of 6 months braces, I told her I would think more about it and get back once I was ready. So, after few days, I did some research and I was shocked to find out the following about 6 months braces
1) 2 days training required instead of years of training orthodontist have to go through
2) it will fix the visible teeth, but it won’t take into consideration your biting, gaping, spacing
3) dentists (again, not orthodontist) can perform it and charge whatever price they want. Which is very close to braces without the proper education braces require.
So after reading articles and reviews, I came to the conclusion that she pushes for the 6 months braces in order to maximize profits without proper knowledge of what your needs are.
I did get 2 consultations with orthodontists after my consultation with Covina smile and I was surprise to find out that both of them did not recommend the 6 months braces because 1) trauma to the teeth 2) I’ll have problems with biting 3) problem with spacing
My advice to you, get consultation with an orthodontist before you sign up for braces here. Just to make sure you are a good candidate
