The Crested Butte International Lodge & Hostel offers simple and affordable lodging in downtown Crested Butte, dorms and private rooms available. Perfect for friends, families, groups, and individuals.
Reasons why I loved my stay at the CB Hostel: 1. Clean! Room, common areas, bathrooms, all clean. 2. The beds were just the right firmness and the bedding and sheets smelled clean, comforting. 3. DOGFRIENDLY. For a small fee(30 $) on top of the CHEAP room rate, this was by far my favorite place I’ve stayed with my dog. 4. Christine working the front desk was SO helpful, her hospitality shined. She really made my experience feel welcoming! 5. Walking distance from just about everythingggg! Can’t go wrong there. 6. Hot water in the showers– NOT a problem. Overall GREAT two days and nights spent. And because of off season i pretty much had the place to myself. Thanks CB hostel!

This was my second stay here. I like it, it has a very clean shared bath room, good clean room, im not sure the Hostel has Ac or Heater, both times we stayed here we did not need Ac or heater. I like the first floor full kitchen, we came prepared and we cooked breakfast in the kitchen… cant beat that. The lady who works at the front desk(Kristine)is super nice and work hard. We will come back again…

We decided on the private room(I believe they have 2 private rooms and a private apt w/bath). We had the shared bathroom experience, which was fine. Bathrooms were clean, but the women’s room was out of TP! Our room faced South x Southwest. There is no AC. There are no fans. When we got there after a day of hiking… the room was roasting hot. It was the end of July, so I wasn’t too surprised. This was a big bummer… it finally started to cool of at night, but I needed to shut the window as it was right above the entrance way and there was a lot of chatter. Good price for the Butte… think we’d splurge on something nicer next time. However, this is not your typical youth hostel w/partiers, etc. People were respectful and kind. It was clean and cheap. If I were traveling solo or doing the Maroon Bells hike from Aspen, I’d grab a bed for $ 40 and be happy. It’s walking distance to downtown.

Good basic hostel. — Clean rooms, albeit a little stuffy — Nice bathrooms with a ton of WC stalls — and shower stalls — Large common area with a fireplace, tv, and couches — Kitchen has everything you need to cook a few meals. — everything is a little worn, but doesn’t feel gross

I really can’t say it enough but I absolutely adore the Colorado mountain hostels. I’ve been to three now and have been blown away by how nice the facilities have been for such reasonable prices. Also, the crowds aren’t wild or sketchy: they’re typically outdoorsy types more interested in getting up before 6AM(too) than keeping anybody up all night. Obviously if you want to go as cheaply as possible, camping is the way to do that, but if you and a small group are just looking for a nice-ish place to spend a few nights in the area — with showers, climate control, laundry etc. along with good company — this is a wonderful option. This is a hostel so it’s going to come without a few creature comforts you’ll get if you pay a lot more to stay elsewhere. Still, I thought it felt a lot like a nice college dorm, and it was within very easy and safe walking distance from the heart of the town. I rented a bunk with two friends and we ended up getting the room to ourselves. There isn’t an enormous amount of space in the bunks(awesomely, you do get an electrical outlet to yourself), but the public room is enormous, with board games, TVs, couches, an expansive kitchen with modern appliances and a great stove. I stayed in July, which I imagine might make for a more pleasant experience than ski season due primarily to comparative lack of… soaking wet gear. Pretty much everyone staying there when I visited was there for mountain biking, hiking, etc., and was extremely friendly and outgoing. Of course, the town of Crested Butte and the surrounding wilderness(we hiked West Maroon Pass — so wonderful — absolutely stunning views the whole way, especially in wildflower season) were the real attraction, so we didn’t spend that much time in there anyway. Also — word to the wise — you can also hit these hostels up for a very reasonably priced mid-day shower, which is an excellent option post-hike or bike to avoid stinking the car up all the way home. PPS — spaces fill up, so get your reservation early!

We rented two private rooms at this place via . We were speaking to a woman at the front desk when another couple pushed past and the woman actually served them first! After waiting 15 mins., we find out that the desk clerk had given that couple one of our rooms! So, the clerk was forced to upgrade us to an apartment. We were quite pleased when we saw the apartment. It was perfect for us, nicely furnished, clean and stocked with dishes, microwave, fridge, toaster oven, kettle, coffee maker, coffee, creamer, sugar packets and even a dishwasher! Two bedrooms and bath. A small balcony. Cute little fireplace. It was late when we arrived and the clerk reccomended us a place to eat that late. She even called ahead for us. We were back by 11:30 and carrying our bags, skis, etc. inside. My one year old girl was padding around in her tights while we unpacked. Less than 15 minutes later, the same woman that had pushed past us when we had first arrived, was banging our door like a cop telling us we were too loud! That, «around here, we go to bed early because WE ski. If this continues, I’ll report you to the clerk!» another 2 minutes later and the clerk is at our door. She’s a bit flakey and telling us how loud we’re being. She knows the building, etc. We rented this place with a one year old and a dog(who is not even here yet) and it seems to me they shouldn’t even rent this particular apartment if a family cannot go about normal getting in and getting ready for bed without disturbing the people downstairs. And 10 – 15 minutes can hardly be considered disturbing. We weren’t having a party! We are ALL here to ski, that’s what you do in this town! We are all waking up at 5 am to ski. So, it is not the actual place I disliked. It’s the woman downstairs and the clerk who handled it VERY badly! She assumed she knew what was going on before she heard us speak. In fact, she never listened to us speak, she just kept whinging about, «please just listen to ME!»

nicely located, modestly priced hostel. The furniture and beds are worn out but the kitchen is fully stocked and the staff is pretty good. We paid extra for a private room with a private bath. It was fun being there, chatting to others while waiting for our turn to use the kitchen. I just wish the bed wasn’t so ‘tired”. It’s obvious they don’t have the budget to keep upgrading on a regular basis but it’s not a hotel so keep this in mind while staying there.
