History

Established in 1979.

Custom Tire was originally started by James Garrison (Sr) as a truck tire mobile service in 1979.

The company moved to the Village of Crestwood, Illinois in 1981 where it opened its first store. It then expanded into retail tires and wheel sales; as well as a commercial truck tire service center. Jim is still serving Crestwood, Oak Forest, Blue Island, Alsip and other near by communities in their tire needs; along with his wife Linda, his sons Jim and Jonathan, as well as other staff.

I started out in the tire industry at the young age of 14. I remained at that job, changing truck tires and doing road service, for another 10 years after I got my driver’s license. I then took another job for approximately 2 yrs which offered a wider variety of experience in sales and management skills. The development of these skills ultimately led me to start up my own company, Custom Tire, in 1979.
