Salon a Go-Go

This review is long overdue! I moved to nearby Blue Island in 2013 and was driving to Orland Park for a hair cut. The lady who used to cut my hair suddenly quit and I was left out in the cold. I turned to Unilocal and found excellent reviews for Salon a Go-​Go so I made an appointment and have been a client since then!
Melissa cuts my hair and always does an amazing job at a reasonable price. I am sure I drive her crazy with my demands but she is never fazed. I work downtown and constantly asked where I get my haircut… people are disappointed when I tell them it is out in the burbs. I love Melissa so much that I even started bringing my daughter to her for her hair. Melissa has waxed, cut and dyed us and always does a fantastic job. I tried to trim my daughter’s hair with some clippers and she vehemently said only Melissa can touch her hair.
Salon is very well kept and clean. Val is wonderful as well as she keeps busy and is always cleaning or doing something. Part of me didn’t want to post this review as I didn’t want my secret to get out but Melissa deserves to have oodles and oodles of clients!

Been in search of a new stylist/​colorist for well over a year now. I’ve had my hair done at high end salons, mid-​grade salons, in basements, in kitchens… just want someone who will listen to what I want and need and actually do it. I read the Unilocal!Reviews on this place and read good things about Lauren, so I made an appointment for a cut & highlites. I should add that I was about 4 months out from a haircut and had some serious roots going on… we had a great consultation, and Lauren went to work. She gave me a great cut, with side bangs, just like I asked. Turns out, after 2 days the style just wasn’t working for me. I contacted Lauren and asked if she could tweek it for me. She got me in immediately.
She ended up giving me lots of layers and taking some length off, and now I LOVE it. I should add, she did a great job with my color, AND even pulled some pictures off Pinterest of good colors for me, as we had talked about changing my color in the fall. So overall, I was very pleased. Lauren does great work! Very attentive.
Very talented. Very gracious when I asked for the tweeking! I’m looking forward to having her do my hair again in October! Very affordable as well, AND they sell Matrix product. I think I have a new go to girl!

So I just finished with my second appointment with Lauren and this time she nailed it! Not only is it beautiful, but it is exactly what I asked for and at a reasonable price! Highly recommend!!!

I found this salon looking through Unilocal,not searching reviews, but looking for salons in my area. From the moment I called I was treated like someone that had been going there for years. I’ve been to many different salons in my life from $ 10 super cuts to $ 350.00 color jobs. I’m 36 years old and have never had an experience that made me decide to stay with a beautician/​salon until now. I was taken care of by Melissa (owner) for a consultation, and Claire for my color service. I have NEVER been more pleased. My hair was 150% to my satisfaction. If you’re looking for somewhere to get a cut or color or style and are one of those people who are a little nervous because you’ve had a bad experience before or unsure because you need it «just right» for an occasion, these are your girls! The salon has its own personal, unique décor that gives a fun story of its own. It’s NOT the same olé: «hi, how are you… let me talk to you while I cut your hair cause that’s my job…» routine. These girls give impeccable service, are professional, and genuinely fun and friendly. I highly recommend this salon and can confidently say you will most definitely be as pleased with your overall experience as I am. 2 thumbs up Melissa, congrats on your business and thank you for being a place I can finally call my own. Was anything but regular, a whole new look. I explained to Melissa
How limp my hair has been due to the dryness and cold weather.

I was just here today, My best friend recommended this place to me. Melissa the owner is super sweet. The staff is fabulous, very accommodating and flexible. I would definitely go back, Very wheelchair friendly, I only had to get out of my chair once to wash my hair which was no big deal. Highly recommended!!!

I love Salon a Go-​Go! I get my eyebrows waxed there every month by Claire at a very reasonable price. She does a great job with the shape and she’s gentle as possible. She always makes sure I’m satisfied before I get out of the chair. I also love this salon because they offer so many different services from candle earwax removal to chair massages to all hair styling services including extensions. They also sell really cute merchandise in the salon like funky candles and headbands. I definitely recommend this salon!
