Share Wine Lounge and Small Plate Bistro

We met a few neighbors at this nearby place, and although the food was pretty good, I was sadly disappointed that the crabcakes were not nearly up to par. When we went there last year, the crabcakes were very dense with crab and had minimal filling inside.
This time, the crabcakes resembled every other crabcake — too much breading, and not enough crab.
My pals did enjoy their steaks though, and for that, I am very happy. Overall, I think the food at this hotel is better than most hotel restaurants, but not enough for me to visit there again in the near future.

You have to grade Share on a major curve, as it’s a hotel restaurant/​bar. For those purposes, it’s among the better ones I have had the (mis)fortune of spending time at over the years.
As the Doubletree is my home for 10 – 15 days a year (see my review of the hotel), I’ve spent a lot of time at Share. It’s new-​ish, having been installed when the hotel was renovated a couple of years back.
Breakfast: incredibly, there has been virtually zero turnover on the morning staff over the last three years. They’re all great, and special props to the omelette guy for his friendliness, quality, and special salsa. Five stars. If you’re a Hilton Gold or Diamond, the buffet is free. If not, it’s $ 25+tax/tip.
Bar: a key ingredient to a successful hotel bar is a sense of anonymity and the ability to – more times than not – get an empty seat at the bar. The prices I think are about 10% too high for what you get, and the service is mediocre. But, they have plenty of booze options, and a very solid wine selection for the size of the place. Four stars.
Food: always has been fine. Again, I think it’s too expensive for the surroundings, but it is also of a higher quality than most hotel bars. Three stars.
Overall, a very serviceable bar/​restaurant at all hours. 4-​stars.

I was disappointed on our last stay here because there was a new menu and they’d done away with our favorite dish, the Santorini Salad. It had fried artichoke hearts, need I say more???
The service was excellent, Devontae had good recommendations for alternative dishes since the best thing on the menu was gone. I tried another salad but, sorry, it didn’t stand a chance, sent it back. He was gracious and apologetic and made everything better in the end. We had three other meals here during our stay and no complaints, breakfast was good as always.
Saw many people there each afternoon for Happy Hour food & reduced prices.
My husband said their beef burger was delicious, also a recommendation of Devontae.
We’re making another trip to LA in a week and will stay here again since we can depend upon the good food here.
Please bring back Santorini Salad!

I was staying at the Doubletree hotel, so I decided to give the In-​house restaurant a try. Share Small Plates Bistro has some huge prices. All the house special cocktails were $ 14, so I opted for diet coke instead. It was $ 28 for a 7 ounce steak, $ 14 for a «basic burger», and $ 10 for a Caesar salad, no meat — all of which is more than I can afford. I went with 2 «small plates»: the Sticky Ribs ($ 10) and the Vegetable Board ($ 8). I figured that since it was «3−14» Pi Day, I would have a piece of pie for dessert.
The Vegetable Board came first. It was pretty, with sliced cucumbers, celery, raw asparagus, baby carrots, and raw green beans. There were also tiny containers of hummus and a «spring pea tapenade». The spring pea tapenade tasted like ground-​up grass. It had no discernible seasoning! When I think of tapenade, I think of olives and acid — big flavors. I had to ask for more hummus, and choked down the grassy tapenade with the help of a lot of salt and pepper.
The Sticky Ribs were tasty, and a good portion as an entrée protein for one person. They had a sweet Asian glaze, and were manageable with a knife and fork.
They don’t serve desserts, so no pie for me on Pi Day.
The final reason I am leaving 2 stars is that the service was so spotty. I waited 10 minutes to be seated. Finally one of the servers, came and rescued me. He brought my diet coke, then a different server brought me a diet coke. 3 different servers checked on me sporadically, but there was no consistency. That’s not the fault of the servers, but no manager running the front of the house. They person would also be responsible for the absent hostess.
It was a Saturday night, and based on that experience, I decided to order room service rather than risk the restaurant making me late for my 9:00 am appointment.

Atmosphere: Very open, kind of in the middle of lobby, yet it didn’t seem exposed, but it didn’t seem too stuffy either. Awesome. ⁵⁄₅
Food: During the breakfast buffet, they had sausages, bacon, french toast, scrambled eggs, made-​to-​order egg station, pastries, fruits, etc. Everything was very tasty, especially the sausages. I think one day, I ate 6 – 7 sausages. Yes, they were that good! ⁴⁄₅
Service: Amazing. I’ve been to hotels where if you ask to get a coffee to go, they either charge you extra or give you a dirty look. Not here. They actually offer if you want a coffee to go. I like that. ⁵⁄₅
Verdict: Don’t care if you are coming from a different hotel, check this place out for an awesome breakfast buffet if you are within a couple of miles.

Relaxing ambiance with decent food for a hotel. Portobella burger, flatbreads, warm goat cheese were all pretty good. If you need a comfortable place to hang out after 10 in this area, this is it.

Share is a restaurant inside the Double Tree Hotel in Culver City. When you stay in Hotels as much as I do, as I travel a lot for work, I usually find hotel restaurants just average. Not the case in this one. Great customer service is what it is all about and this hotel restaurant ranks at the top in that department. The food is good with large servings. The best part to me is the waitress keep’s coming to check on us Service here is Fantastic and as I said that is what it is all about.

Share just recently renovated their menu around the beginning of 2013.
Since I pretty much live at the DoubleTree as a traveling consultant, I feel qualified to make some suggestions.
The buffalo wings are crispy. The sauce is flavorful with a little kick.
The sticky ribs are spot-​on if you get them in the restaurant. I haven’t been as lucky with room service and found they come out too dry when I order them from the room.
The portobello mushroom burger is a must-​try. I hate mushrooms but I love this sandwich because of the wilted spinach and garlic… Just be ready to get messy.
The heirloom tomato and mozzarella flatbread is satisfactory to this New Yorker, if a bit thicker and fluffier than I’m used to. It fed me for several nights (it kept fine in the fridge and tasted just as good cold). One order could probably feed four small women, or two men.
The braised short rib was flavorful and delicious but a very modest portion. This would not have filled my husband’s stomach. I recommend this if you’re homesick and looking for comfort food.
If you want a salad, I recommend Ying’s Salad. The seared chicken salad was a little bland and disappointing.
Their ricotta gnocci was too rich and made me ill.
If it were my dime, I probably wouldn’t eat here because the price does not reflect the food quality.
The quality of sit-​down waiter service can be hit or miss.
They do have some good happy hour specials, like half-​price bottles of wine on Wednesdays. I think they’ve jipped me on the special once or twice and charged me full price on the by-​the-​glass specials. It probably doesn’t help that none of the staff ever seem to know what the happy hour special is.
DON“T ORDER THE MARGARITA. I think I paid over $ 10 for the weakest, most disgusting margarita I’ve ever had, so now I stick with cheaper, harder to mess up wine options. I was a little nervous when «water» was one of the first ingredients listed for this drink… It was evident that water was the main ingredient.
Oh, and if you’re staying at the DoubleTree on business… If you eat in the restaurant, you can charge the meal to your room and it shows up as a nondescript food purchase. That adds to your HH points, too. Eating in the restaurant prevents the silly $ 3 room service delivery charge and automatic 18% gratuity.

I only ate here because of a work event, which took place within this double tree. The tomato soup tasted like it was from a can. The grilled asparagus was okay but it’s hard to mess that up. There are placed walking and driving distance from here that are better. Plus, Westfield is close by as well. Maybe just for drinks. They can’t mess up beer, theoretically.

Ate here for the first time and I thought it was great. I had a very large and tasty hamburger and a bowl of delicious broccoli soup. Service was very good but not hovering. Prices are reasonable and portions are a good size. I don’t know about the small plates. Would go back there again.

I just stumbled upon this place because I was at the hotel for work. I live in town and would normally never have come here. But as it were, I found my self there with my husband and we were hungry and they had food. The only thing I have to say is «STICKY RIBS.» Sweet, Asian flavors, big fat tender ribs with a crispy exterior sitting on a bed of sweet potato shreds. I want them right now. I may have licked the plate.
Nothing else about this place was appealing to me at all. That’s not totally true, the service was good, our waiter was nice and fast but the décor is awful and you feel like you are on a business trip. It’s a hotel lounge restaurant on all fronts except… the wonder, that is the «STICKY RIBS.»

Let’s call it 3.5 stars. What Share Wine Lounge and Bistro has that brings me in every day while I’m at the @DoubleTree Culver City is coffee. Espresso. Cappuccino. Latte. Caffeine. Bring it. Now.
Share is inside the DoubleTree but seems to operate somewhat independently.
I never expected to eat at Share but we were fumbling around late on a Sunday night (after 10) looking for dinner and we kept turning up closed restaurants (apparently Culver City is just far enough from LA that 24 hour joints aren’t that common) so we opted to try the restaurant at the hotel where we were staying. Usually this is a move of desperation. Nothing against Share and in fact the early cappuccino’s I’ve been getting are pretty solid, it’s just that I’ve had some highly mediocre food at restaurants inside hotels.
So it surprised me when we had dinner here around 11pm on a Sunday night that the burger with peppered bacon, cheddar and grilled onions was… really good. The plate of brushetta we shared was so-​so. And the chicken quesadilla was also fine, nothing special. So if I were to eat here again I would definitely go with the burger. Solid.
