Absolutely amazing breakfast!!! Make sure you try the breakfast burrito with chorizo

My family and I have been coming here ever since they first started as Mestizo’s, and we have LOVED every single meal every single time we go. This place is WAY better than Moe’s with delicious fresh food and very friendly faces. The restaurant has a cozy and cute theme– awesome decorations! I would definitely recommend!

I used to love this place. Sadly, after THREE bad experiences in a row, I will NOT return. I went back two more times after they burned my quesadilla (did not realize it was burned until I got home). I figured that was a one time thing, but their food is so expensive for what you get, comparing their prices and portion sizes to Laredo’s, El Campasino, El Jinenté, and Pueblos.
My last try here the meat was weird. It tasted awful. I felt like I might get sick. However, if you are a vegetarian, this is the place for you.

Best Mexican in town! Chill atmosphere, great, friendly people. Delicious food! Everything you could ask for. Their breakfast is bomb and their guac rocks. Everything is delicious, go check them out!

Super casual and tasty. Their menu is similar to Moe’s, but the ingredients are way fresher. It seems like many Mexican nationals are eating here — always a great sign. And a ton of regulars seem to eat here. Give it a try.

Assad steak tacos were delicious. Drinks are a bit pricey but the food was authentic and well cooked!

A new find — & boy have we been missing out. My husband & I have very different palates & we’ve greatly enjoyed everything we’ve tried so far. We just hit up the brunch situation this morning & wow — I’m never cooking breakfast again. BRAVO!!!

Food was good. Restaurant was clean and the people were nice. My only thing is that the chips were a little over cooked and I didn’t like the salsa, but that’s personal preference. Would come back.

Delicious. The burrito bowls and nachos are quite large. Great salsas. Try the Garbanzo Pico de Gallo.

My fav place too… I hate to write this but since changing from Mistizo… it’s EXPENSIVE… we used to go every Sunday with family… other day I brought my friend for lunch for us both… was $ 33!
I paid it and then thought that same order used to be like $ 18 for 2… I get it. .fresh food and all that. but damn $ 33 for lunch?
I will say it’s excellent food… I just can’t afford to go a lot anymore.

Had the fish tacos & chicken soup. Both were great. Looks freshly remodeled and the fresh orange juice was a nice touch.
If your in cummings and having chipotle withdrawals go ahead and try this place, you won’t regret it

Fabulous food and service! We’ll drive the 30 minutes to get there anytime! The app is requiring me to lengthen my review. Not much else to say but great food.

Mestizo’s has changed its name to Lake Burrito, updated the décor but the same awesome food and service! Love this place it is a designation for us when by the lake. The owners are twin sisters they are warm and friendly, always such a nice experience, and did I mention the awesome food!

In the middle of a name change to Lake Burrito, new décor. Clean and inviting. Same great food. We had Taco Salad, and 2 quesadillas. Very fresh and tasty. We will be back for sure.

Great little unknown spot in a strip center that would rival the best places in Atlanta. We drove all the way up from sandy springs and boy we weren’t let down. I had the quesadilla and my wife and mother had the fish tacos. They were all incredibly fresh and delicious. We also had the pancakes which were the best I have ever put in my mouth. Be careful though, they only serve breakfast until 12 so get there early. In a word. Awesome!

I was attending an event at Browns Bridge Church in Cumming, so I immediately hopped on Unilocal to see what food adventures I could have while in the area. I couldn’t pass up a taqueria with a 4+ star rating. What a great find!
From the pictures on Unilocal,I had already decided that I was going to try the fish tacos. When I walked into the restaurant, I was slightly disappointed to see the typical burrito buffet set-​up. I was concerned I had gotten excited about another build-​your-​own burrito joint (which I love, but was not in the mood for that night). But don’t let the set-​up fool you.
The interior of the restaurant is cute and colorful. The atmosphere is very casual. There are some tables for four, as well as some community tables. Because I was dining alone with Lena Dunham (or her book, anyway), I grabbed a seat at the front bar. It is not a terribly large place, but a great deal of business on the night I visited appeared to be take-​out (although there were a number of patrons inside enjoying dinner, too). There is a small outdoor seating area. The cashiers and burrito artists were very friendly and helpful.
I ordered a chips and queso and grabbed some salsa from the salsa bar. I also ordered the fish tacos, as I had planned. They were incredible. Chips were fresh, salty and crispy. The fish tacos came two to an order and were huge. They were stuffed with fresh veggies and a heavenly chipotle sauce.
I hope to return to try the tamales and the chilaquiles one day. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

There are very few places that get me to eat there multiple times in 1 week. I have found just that place in Mestizo. Whether for breakfast lunch or dinner this restaurant is always a good idea. I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu and never disappointed.
Some prior reviews compare Mestizo to Moes or Chipotle and while it is the same type of self-​service plus restaurant the food is of no comparison. The food is always fresh and served at the perfect temperature. The family who runs Mestizo seem genuinely pleased to see all of their customers and greet everyone with a smile.
I could not recommend this place more highly!!!
