This is my 4^th remodeling home project in the last 20 years. There is a gentleman at Argonaut Windows that is by far the best guy I have ever worked with in the past. He is extremely customer focused and helped me decide on the most value-​based choices that I needed to make within my budget. I would absolutely recommend Paul Padilla as a salesperson you can trust and someone that will go above and beyond his job to get you what you need. As a side note, he helped me order the lock for my new front door from a local vendor where most salesperson’s would have just given a name and let me deal with it. I have zero time to deal with this remodeling stuff. Paul was a godsend!

I’m starting a total remodel and windows are on the list. My contractor had us go to Home Depot to meet with someone to get us some quotes with his contractor discount. I’m the type of person that likes to see options and Home Depot is lacking in displays. We got a quote on Anderson and Milgard but wanted to see the difference in person not in a book. So I went on line and called around after 2 «showrooms» ha! I was was about to go back to Home Depot then we found argonaut in Cupertino. They have a huge showroom. We meet Phil Misa, he is full of useful information regarding new construction vs retro fitting. Phil gave us a quote less then Home Depot and he spent the time to go over all the pros and cons of all the different bands. We ordered 18 custom size Windows and they came quicker then the ETA. If you need Windows go see Phil.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY !!! This company did such a terrible job on our windows and doors it’s unbelievable. They had to order 18 windows 3 different times because they kept sending the work size and style of windows. When they installed them most were not flush to the walls. They were either sticking out of the walls on the out side and some were sticking out on the inside of the walls, not to mention some were simply damaged. They made up ridiculous excuses like, «your walls are all different thicknesses» or «well we brought what was on the paperwork», all lies. We had to have an indipendant glazer and contractor come out and they found a ton of problems with the way the windows were installed. They used the wrong kind of shims and didn’t even have some of then affixed properly at all, so the windows could have just fallen out at some point. There were huge gaps and they didn’t even fill in open areas. The contractor said it looked like they were salvaging windows from another job and trying to pawn them off on us. They started to become rude and argumentative when confronted with expert appraisals and eventually we had to go to a lawyer and he said we’d win hands down in court. Lickily the lawyer work it oit with them but this is just another example of terrible products combined with terrible and untrustworthy servise. Just awful to do this to a hard working family who waited decades to get their house updated.

We have used Argonaut multiple times for doors and windows over many years, and we have been delighted every time. Dan Ford was professional, competent, knowledgeable, and pleasant. The order was processed perfectly, and the windows arrived ahead of scheduled, delivered to the house, although Milgard was having delays due to high demand. The warehouse people were also excellent. Argonaut used to install but now recommend a third-​party installer (Mike at Giorgi). The installer was also outstanding. I highly recommend Argonaut. They are honest, competent, and competitive in their prices. Our friends have also had similar experience with Argonaut.

Purchased Anderson windows from Argonaut Windows & Door about 20 years ago. One handle was broken and I returned to Argonaut to buy a replacement handle. Salesman told me that I could not get just one handle. I would have to purchase the entire opening assembly (elbow, etc) costing about $ 150 and then hire their maintenance company to do the actual work. Didn’t like this answer or cost and departed.
When I called Anderson headquarters in MN their order taker quickly determined which of many models I needed and sent me just the handle I needed for Free. When it arrived I installed it in one-​two minutes. Just a single set screw.

I needed just one Milgard new construction window to match the rest of the windows in our house, and after checking HD, Lowes, and Argonaut was surprised to see that Argonaut’s price was about $ 50 lower. Everything was done over the phone and via email — and I appreciated the excellent service I received from Chris Pieper. After the window was installed, there was a minor problem with the window lock, but Argonaut had a Milgard technician come out to fix things.
Overall, a great experience that makes it easy to recommend Argonaut and Chris to my friends.

When I started looking into replacing the windows in my home, I contacted three well reviewed businesses to provide an estimate. Argonaut was by far the most complete, thorough and professional in gathering information for the quote. They came to the house to measure each window. After the initial quote it actually took me another two years before I finally made a decision on the windows and scope of the project. Justin at Argonaut was very patient and accommodating in pricing out many different options for me. We chose Marvin sliders for our 1960’s ranch style home with painted wood interior and aluminum clad exteriors.
After we made our selection, Justin came out to measure the windows again before putting the order in to make sure everything was correct. And then before installation, Justin and someone in charge of installation came to the house to make sure the installation team was aware of any removal of installation issues and that they would have the materials needed for the job.
Argonaut required that I have the interior and exterior paint tested for lead before installation and recommended a particular lead inspector who uses handheld x-​ray fluorescence testing method. I was unable to reach the person they recommended even after several weeks of making calls and leaving messages. I told Argonaut I was unable to reach the inspector and they had no other suggestions. I found another very reputable inspector myself who takes several paint samples and sends them to a lab for analysis. They did something like 10 samples and it wasn’t cheap– something like $ 50 per sample. The lab results came back showing lead was not over the threshold that requires special handling but Argonaut did not accept this report. By this time, the other lead inspector had returned from his extended vacation and I was able to schedule him to come out and test. He did the test in about 30 minutes and said there was no lead and said he would inform Argonaut of his results. The second lead inspection cost me around $ 300.
Argonaut does not handle the permitting but does require the job to be permitted, so I had to do the research on this myself and apply for the permit and schedule the inspections. Only two inspections are required one after the windows are installed with sealing still exposed but before exterior framing is installed so that the inspector can see the seals and one inspection after the job is complete. I misunderstood the instructions from the San Jose Building Dept. agent and scheduled an unnecessary initial inspection before any of the work started and this cost me some extra money. Better guidance from Argonaut on this process would have been helpful.
Other than scheduling the inspection after install but before exterior framing was installed, the installation crew did a great job of keeping me informed about their progress. Initially, the crew chief told me I needed to call and schedule the inspection, but it wasn’t clear exactly which day the project would be ready for inspection and the San Jose building office needs a few days notice. Then when I called the San Jose building dept, they said the crew chief from Argonaut had already called and scheduled the inspection. It would be much better if Argonaut would be more clear about this process up front and schedule the inspection. The job did extend a few days longer than they had planned and part of that was waiting for the inspection. They removed and hauled away my old windows, re-​applied stucco where necessary, replaced wood framing on the exterior where it was needed. They did a good job of cleaning up their work areas inside and outside after each day and when the job was complete.
I re-​painted the area around the windows and re-​installed the exterior shutters after the window installation was complete.
Its been about 4 months since the new windows were installed. They look great. No installation issues. Insulation in terms of temperature and sound is dramatic compared to my old single pane windows.

We were doing a complete remodel and needed to order $ 7000 worth of Anderson windows. At first, our experience was so-​so, because their quote was high and we didn’t understand why. After going into the shop and talking to Chris with our plans, we found out why. He had the wrong plans.
He spent time with us and immediately created a new quote. He also made some recommendations on using standard window sizes that brought the quote down to $ 5500. In addition, he ensured that we got the right models to pass inspection. Delivery was a breeze, and any oversights were quickly fixed.
He also helped us process a warranty for an older slider window that he didn’t even sell to us. In addition, he’s referred installers to us for bi-​fold doors that he didn’t sell to us.
All around, I appreciate the service that he provides to develop a long-​term relationship. Will definitely work with Chris again for my windows.

As a contractor I really appreciate Phil Mesa’s dedication to his clients. He always returns my calls promptly and is always on top of any issue that might come up.
I also really like the wide range of selection that they have, and the show room is very beneficial with working with clients to select the windows that they would like.

Naureen has been persistent to ensure that we resolve our issue with the Andersen Eagle windows. The Andersen representative came to our house and verified the issue with us. We switched the glass to a laminated glass with a thicker seal. The results are remarkable and what we expected from a double paned window. The fact that it took so long to resolve was mostly due to our schedule not Naureen’s response to our issue. We can’t say enough about Naureen’s dedication to customer service.

I have Milgard windows and needed a replacement window. I tried contacting the original installer several times but never heard back from them. I talked to Chris from Argonaut who helped me get the service going through Milgard, and my window was replaced right away. Chris gave me such great service and I didn’t even purchase the window from him. Thanks for taking the time to help me, you will always have my business and referrals.

Argonaut Windows has sold me windows for my homes and apartment buildings over the last 10 years. I am very pleased with Wayne, our salesman as well as the installers. Over the years we’ve had a few situations where maintenance was required, and Argonaut was right there for me every time. I definitely will continue to use them.

I have worked with Shannon Demling at Argonaut window and door for eight years or more. She has taking care of my projects from Atherton to Willow Glen. I have not gotten a quote from another vendor since I have been working with Shannon due to my confidence in her. Her attention to detail and knowing the products goes far beyond anyone I have ever worked with in the window industry. Shannon is top quality in her industry. Shannon works great directly with my clients and knows exactly what I am trying to achieve.

Recently purchased windows from Dan at Argonaut. He was terrific! Very knowledgable, helpful, pleasant. He really took the time to listen to what I wanted and needed, and advised me on the numerous options before recommending the best fit for our home. He also ensured that my order was correct before finalizing. I especially appreciated that my contractor framed everything correctly. Now, my windows are perfect! Will definitely recommend to all my friends and family for window needs in the future. Highly recommended!

So we came in on ⁴⁄₄ to place our order for two windows. Before that order we spoke to one rep. who told us the order would take between 1 to 2 weeks. Ok, great.
Then we were actually ordering them, the other rep. told us that this order will take 1 to 2 weeks. Ok, good.
We ordered.
After 3 weeks later, i called them asking where is order: they told me that this order supposed to be taking 4 – 6 weeks. Whoa! When i said this is not what reps said, it was basically: «Yeah, ok, bye!»
To their credit, i looked at the order contract and it WAS written there 4 – 6 weeks, however my husband and i both remember them saying 1– to 2 weeks. So it is bad on our end we didn’t read order more carefully, however WHY WE WERE SO MISLEAD??? Two stars: we were profoundly mislead, but customer service was OK.

My experience with Argonaut Window and Door has been excellent. As a Contractor in business since the mid 80’s I have done literally hundreds of projects that have required custom windows and sliding glass doors. It has been my experience that rarely does the transaction meet my or my clients expectations for dimensional accuracy, price and on time delivery. Having just finished my third project with Argonaut and with a large custom Fleetwood project currently in production, I am happy to report that this company is getting it right. I am especially impressed with the high level of product knowledge and commendable work ethic of April Lester who has been my primary point of contact. It’s great not having to chase someone down and play endless telephone tag when trying to get questions answered and clarifications worked through during the course of getting a project specified, scheduled, ordered, delivered and installed.

Please beware in dealing with this company.
This is the second large job that the sales representative has screwed up for us on new construction and costs of thousands of dollars, not to mention time.
Her supervisor initially contacted us after we called and disclosed all the issues with the windows that have been delivered — but now even she is nowhere in sight and the job is being held up.
This is the second job that the angles on the windows ordered were incorrectly — we are talking some significant window and lots of money.
In addition, I specifically requested that certain patio door thresholds were also unacceptable because of ADA needs — yet this same rep ordered 6 patio door with the exact same issues from the prior job two years ago.
In the last house (2+ million dollar) the glass patio door thresholds were so high that caution signs had to be permanently displayed on each door because of several folks tripping and falling.
With 3 additional witnesses present — architect, contractor, project manager were there as I specified they were not to be ordered for this job.
Guess what they all are? Exactly what I told her would be an unacceptable threshold.
As a direct result of her ignoring the specific directions and told that those thresholds were completely unacceptable, the exact thresholds were ordered for this second job, all adjoining window/​door openings had to be reframed. Of course the sales rep or Argonaut are nowhere in sight — they have yet to offer to offset that huge expense. That was a pricey mistake on their part, transferred to us.
In addition, though we have paid for the entire order of windows and skylights, not all the items were delivered and as mentioned, some are so incorrect that we simply can not use them.
We are high and dry on this 2.5 million dollar project as well.
This is nearly a 5,000 square foot house, with lots of windows and lots of doors.
Part way through the the first job she totally screwed up, I decided that I would definitely not order the 30+ interior doors because I was so disgusted with Argonaut, nor did I order what ultimately was a beautiful $ 8,000 front door because of the sales rep — I took my money elsewhere.
Once again, another company will receive my business for several other exterior doors as well as all room and closet interior doors. This house has 6 bedrooms,
4 bathroom, as well as 8 other rooms in the house requiring a significant number of interior doors — the room doors and a plethora of closets that will support this house are numerous. Argonaut missed out on this sale.
Here I am again. Because my architect thought the issue was a conflict with the contractor and the sales rep on that precious job, he encouraged me to give this same rep another chance. She is a pleasant person — just careless and far from exact when you are working with windows — or with sticking with the blueprints.
Funny the contractor on this job has the exact same complaint with the exact same problems, as well as witnessed me telling her the thresholds could not be as on the prior job.
Here I am again 2 years later — being subjected to tons of over run expenses because of their errors. The architect has now discovered what everyone has tried to tell him. He now has seen that she expressly ignored his words as well, and even changed the design of two rooms by altering the angles of the bay windows. She simply substituted Argonauts pre-​framed options instead of what was specifically called for on the plans.
Because the house has those particular angles in multiple locations including a rather large boxed out front wall (living room) to match what the windows were supposed to mimic — the entire design of the front of the house has been drastically altered.
We have extensive reframing to undertake (and all the related costs) to accommodate what she decided the bay-​window designs should be.
After some additional digging about in our community we have learned of several other big several million dollar jobs that have issues co-​identical to the ones we are experiencing.
So again — BEWARE when you deal with this company.

I called to request an appointment for a front door and side windows, which the sales rep rudely pointed out to me are called «side lights.» Don’t make the mistake I did, or he will try to make you feel stupid. Then, after getting all my personal information, he said, «Yeah, that’s too far to drive for just a front door. I’ll have to pass.» Then don’t have my city included in the center of your service area on your website, perhaps, or make it clear that you need to know where my house is before getting all my personal info?
Apparently they are too good for me, so I have another good for them: goodbye.

We have used Argonaut over the years, However we will no longer be a customer.
Why would you CHOOSE to treat your loyal Customers /​Contractors the way you do.
Let’s be clear here; Excellent Customer Service is a choice, not a choice Argonaut chooses to make. Now we choose to shop at places where they at least pretend to care.
These people are not to be trusted and they will cost you more money in the end with False Promises & Project Setbacks = Upset & Emotional Customers!
Window was ordered on November 8^th 2013 and arrived with a scratch six weeks later. We were told it would only take 2 to 3 weeks for the order. Mr. Ford tried to have us take delivery of the window with the scratch at the delivery dock and claimed they would come out to the house to replace the glass once the window was installed. Why would anyone take delivery of a damaged product?
We had to call repeatedly, over & over & over to get any confirmation that the window was repaired and ready to pickup, nobody contacted us to provide any updates.
Jan. 10 2014 We called the warehouse to get the status and the warehouse personnel said it was ready to be picked up. 1 STAR is for the Warehouse personnel!
It is true: NO ONE AT ARGONAUT CARES! The sales person gets paid and vanishes, We were told that his manager Naureen would be calling to assist with sorting things out and only after calling Justin repeatedly, over six times, did we receive a call from Naureen with no intention of assisting or correcting the situation. The lack of professionalism and concern for your customers is VERY Disappointing.
We will never recommend or use Argonaut Window again and would advise those looking for windows or doors to avoid the Drama, False Promises, and Complete Lack of Professionalism and go somewhere where customer service means something!
