Kris is the BEST. If I can give 6 stars, I would. Kris came over my house to repair the broken pointer shaft of my Porsche 911 VDO Speedometer. He completed the work within an hour. His price was very reasonable. No shipping required since he is local. I know who I’ll be calling next time for my VDO gauge repair or cluster work. I wish there were more craftsmen like Kris who truly enjoys his work and reasonably priced.

After over 1 year of my gauges working and not working I decided to look for a solution. Like most I called the dealer when they told me they can check them out for 150 diagnostic fee. Before I sprung for that I did a little more research and to my surprise I found a Better Option.

Knows what he is doing. Fixed my speedometer in a matter of 15 – 20 minutes. After two years of failed tries and replacing vss I found him on a google search. I drove all the way from Fresno based on positive feedback on Unilocal.No regrets because not only did he fix speedometer he educated me on how it all works and guaranteed work for two years. He’s the guy. He even told me how to remove my speedometer cluster so I could save money on him doing it. He sat an appointment time for me on a Sunday and was there waiting to help

6 stars…7 stars… really. On the basis of Unilocal,asked Kris to come do my truck speedo. He gave me a reasonable quote right up front and set a time. Came out to my work on time, brought several parts that might be needed in addition (plus a full speedo for odd parts just in case), did the work in a snap and showed me the failed part (a cheap plastic worm gear that Ford built into every speedo). He then did something amazing. He noted that the speedo he had quoted was not the one I had, so he knocked $ 40 off the price on the spot. Wow. Highly recommend.

Kris repaired the tach on my 2003 SSR. It took him about an hour to remove the instrument cluster from the dash, replace the stepper motors and reinstall the cluster into the dash. He was on time, reasonably priced, knowledgeable, pleasant. What’s not to like? I wholeheartedly recommend him and would use him again.

He knows speedometers. After a mechanic claim my speedometer was bad. & a auto electrician claim the same. I was looking for a replacement. So the electrician would install. I ask a auto part guys about looking for a speedometer for my truck.
He recommended Kris.
After 2 calls, set up a appointment.
He trouble shoot my speedometer. Said it was good. And spend the time to educate me on what was the real problem!
Now he’s looking for the part to fix the problem.

Recently purchased a 88 BMW 325i. Speedometer was stuck when I purchased the car but did not realize it was non-​op. Notified Kris about my issue, then talked to the used car lot dealer. Since selling a car with a non-​op speedo is illegal, the dealer was more then happier to pay for Kris’s reasonable charges. Kris quoted me on the phone for $ 120, which i am sure is way below dealer prices. Kris came out to my place and pulled out my speedo, thing was rusted out beyond belief. I believe that his $ 120 quote was based on the most common issue of 3 plastic gears being worn out. He ended up not being able to fix my speedo on site and had to take it home for further work. He basically rebuilt the whole gauge for me, yet still honored the reasonable price that was first offered. Kris is a definitely an interesting character, but that of a good one. Thanks Kris, excellent work!

Kris did a good job fixing the odometer on my Saturn. Comparing the old part (a single gear) and the new one, I have the utmost confidence it will be ticking away for another million miles or two, probably longer than the car itself. He also charges a reasonable rate — in my case, even less than his quote — and is a good guy in general.
I can’t award five stars because his surgical procedure on my dashboard broke a couple of clips, and during reassembly he mixed up at least two bolts, putting them back in the wrong place (and leaving it that way). That part only bothers me a little, but when I drove my car the next day, I also noticed the inner door handle was broken — now every time I open the door, the handle gets pulled an inch out of its socket.
I realize this is a cheaply built American car from the 90s, thus more fragile. Still, part of being a professional is not leaving customers’ cars in a worse condition than how you found them.

Kris is great! He worked on my 2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV and was done in no time. He quoted me a price on our initial phone call but was pleasantly surprised when my final bill was 40% off the quoted price. He explains everything that he is doing and he does the work right in front of you so there are no surprises. He’s also great with kids! He had a good time watching Caillou with my 3 kids! haha

Although I live quite a distance to Cupertino, it was worth going to Kris. After quoting from the dealer and a couple to other places who wants to charge me an arm and a leg for fixing it., even thought about sending it out or going to the savage yard. Luckily got on Unilocal and found Kris and why not give it a try afterall. Kris not only repair my speedometer quickly and efficiently, he is totally awesome and pleasant. Even tested out on the road and make sure everything is working, and who can beat a lifetime warranty… I highly recommend Kris.

The cluster on my 2003 Yukon had gone from sometimes working — to dead completely. Owning an older vehicle, every little thing it needs seems to cost an arm and leg, and I was scared of how much a major thing like the whole cluster would cost to fix (or replace even!!!).
Anyway, through e-​mail, I made an appointment with Kris. He is very funny and friendly! He found the problem and showed me (some circuits had come loose), took out the soldering gun, and less than an hour later I was back on the road with a working cluster!!!
As for cost, it was much cheaper than what I expected to pay, and a very small amount to pay for the peace of mind knowing I still had gas in the tank, and was driving at legal speed!!!
Screw the dealers and everyone else with the ridiculous prices! Go to Kris — you won’t regret it!!!

This guy is amazing! I took my Yukon to the gas station and was charged a bundle just to have them tell me that it would cost four times that much to fix my speedometer, with three days down-​time.
It was too much! I hopped online and found Kris. Called him, he came out the next morning, fixed the speedometer in about 20 minutes, and was on his way. One of the best business experiences I’ve had in years! And he charged me less than the gas station did to look at it!
The guy is easy to get along with, informative, and has it all together. If your speedometer is broken, or any gauge for that matter, Kris is your guy!
