Oreck Clean Home Center

The Cupertino Oreck store is no longer even open. When I called the phone number for the cupertino store I was simply routed to san bruno. It seems they’re closed a lot of their stores in the last couple years Which is too bad. forest products are great so I guess I’ll be heading to san bruno!

My wife and I bought 3 different Oreck vacuum cleaners during the past 10 years. All have performed about as advertised… good suction, solid construction and light in weight. The one complaint we can register is the significant amount of noise created by these machines.
All 3 of these vacuums were purchased and serviced by the Oreck Home Center in Cupertino. Each minor repair was handled in a customer-​friendly manner… prompt and at a reasonable price… except for the most recent encounter.
I brought our 3 year old model to the shop because the on-​off switch seemed to stop working. The manager promised to call back in a few days with the diagnosis and cost, if any. However, after not hearing from them for 3 weeks, I called to determine «what happened?»
Apparently, they forgot to call us. The machine was fixed more than 2 weeks before at no cost since it was still under warranty. The manager apologized, but the experience did not leave me with a warm, fuzzy feeling. It was partly our fault for not contacting them during the first week, but we had a backup vacuum to use. In fact, after a while, I just wanted to wait and see if they ever called back.
So, in this case, the vacuums earn 5 stars and overall service the past 10 years 3 stars (down from 5 stars before the recent encounter), so our overall rating is 4 stars.
