He gave simple, effective directions that made me went from nervous to relaxed to having fun, it’s almost magic! He took my professional headshots both indoor and outdoor on that day. The outdoor shoot was spontaneous and unplanned. Some of my best shots were taken outdoor and I couldn’t be happier with the results!
Ben’s work doesn’t stop there. He carefully edited the photos to perfection on the back end and upload the finished product for me to download at my leisure. He is passionate about his work. Ben’s professionalism and service level blew my expectation out of the water.

What a class act. I needed professional pictures for my website as well as personal pictures for other social media. This was my first time to spend an hour in front of a camera; and I have to say, I felt a little stiff and awkward initially. However, under Ben’s direction I was able to loosen up and feel at ease in no time.
Furthermore, you can tell that photography is Ben’s passion. I was so impressed by his knowledge and manipulation of light. From the first shot to the final touch-​up, my satisfaction was Ben’s top priority, making sure I got the final product I was looking for. I’m an actor that has lived in L.A. for over 8 years and I’ve shot with 3 different photographers since I’ve moved to L.A. and Ben was my fourth. He was hands down the best experience I’ve had shooting. Very professional and he really loosens you up well. Soon as he starts shooting you can tell quickly he has a great eye for headshots. He also LOVES to laugh!
I brought over a bunch of outfits too and he took the time to pick through them with me. That’s a pretty rare quality in my experience. I’ve usually had to decide beforehand what to wear. Some places even charge extra for each wardrobe change.
Ben is extremely affordable and his passion for shooting really shows. He wants nothing more than for you to feel like you are getting the most out of your shoot.
He renders the photos quickly for you and sends them in a dropbox to your email. He also will do touch ups as well.
Really great dude who knows how to have fun. He’s been doing photography for years. You’ll immediately know you’re in good hands.

I’m a writer and honestly, getting my picture taken is one of my least favorite things to do, right after going to the dentist and waiting through an earthquake. But nowadays there are so many outlets and employers that ask for a headshot, I figured I needed one.
I heard about Ben through a friend, and I’m so glad he was able to take my headshots. His professionalism, knowledge and ease made me super comfortable, able to relax and even have a lot of fun — which I think made the pictures even better!
The entire process was simple, made easier with his gracious assistant, Lisa. Together they know what they need to do to make you look good — without you really even doing anything. I’m so happy with the results of our shoot. Ben captured several looks which are all me but all very different! It was a great experience and I’ll definitely go back if I ever need additional photos or event photography.

Ben Newton Photography is a new arrival to the Southland from Chicago. When I first heard about him from a friend who lives in Chicago, I was a little worried that his newness to the area would impact his ability to do great work. I was wrong. When I called, I was immediately put at ease by his calm and professional demeanor. As It turns out, he is actually originally from SoCal!
He recommended that I check out his website. I was immediately impressed by the images he has on there. I know what you are thinking — he specifically chose the best of his pics for the website. Maybe so — but the images he showed me of my photo shoot were all amazing (not to mention that he does all his own editing). To be sure my money was being well spent — I did a Unilocal search of him in Chicago and… Wow! People love him there. So I took a chance and bit the bullet scheduling for him to do a headshot session for me for my own website. Upon meeting with him, I was first taken by how courteous he was and how much he wanted me to feel comfortable. I got a sense that what we were about to do was not going to be work — but a lot of fun. You can definitely tell he is an artist at heart and loves what he does for a living. He was great at almost everything he was doing. The only criticism (if it even is one) was that he had so much energy! It almost felt like he was doing the job of 3 – 4 different guys with the way he was bouncing around and making sure the light was just perfect on my face. He investigated every picture he took and scrutinized his own work to ensure he is getting the greatest shot he could. Before I knew it, he was done. Time seemed to fly by even though we spent around 3 hours together.
I can’t say enough about this guy! He is well worth a shot and I would recommend him to everyone I know. You can tell this isn’t just a job for him. He loves every aspect of what he does and it is all about building a relationship with him. I can’t wait to have him take other pictures for me, though with as good as he is — I’m sure he is gonna get really busy really fast.

If there were an option to give Ben 10 Stars out of 5, he would have gotten them all! Ben was the photographer for our wedding last night. He is an absolute professional, an amazing artist, and above all, an outstanding person.

Ben is fantastic! When I was faced with the terrifying prospect of needing a head shot (I’m a writer, not a performer), Ben talked me through the process over the phone and encouraged me to call with any questions and bring as many changes of clothing I wanted to. The shoot was fun, the time flew by, and the photos are fabulous. Ben even helped me choose which shots would best serve my different publicity needs. He’s the best!

Ben is AMAZING! He is professional, has a great eye and awesome personality. He took such great care of us from the very beginning, starting with our engagement photos. He chatted us up, helped us relax and took some great studio shots of us. Then on our wedding day Ben kept us on schedule, had us ALL laughing and really just played with us.
