Pirates For Parties

Rude, rude, rude. If I could, I would give zero stars.
Whoever answers the phone, get another job!
I called up parrots for parties, same company as Pirate for parties and the person answering the phone was RUDE and annoyed at me for asking questions.
Are they in the service industry???
I will definitely not hire them for our party!

I agree with the other reviewers. The guy who answers the phone is VERY RUDE.
Oh and the pirate DIDNT SHOW UP!
When I contacted the company to tell them the pirate didn’t show up and how do I go about getting my deposit back the guy answering the phone blamed me! Told me that I didn’t confirm (I did, twice actually) and then asked me to email proof (so I did). He was sooooo rude, no apologies for RUINING MY SONS BIRTHDAY or any signs of empathy… But blamed me! Wouldn’t even let me talk. Yelled at me! He told me I wasn’t getting the deposit back and if I called again he would call the cops! I hung up the phone crying!!! I still am.
What??? How on earth can a company survive treating their costumers that way.
I’m soooo disgusted and very upset about this whole thing.

I have been meaning to write a review for some time now. I hired Pirates for Parties, to have Captain Jack surprise my twins for their third birthday party last August, 2014.
After reading some of these reviews, I got very worried and almost canceled, however, I crossed my fingers and toes, and hoped for the best. I am so glad I didn’t listen to the previous posters. We were all blown away with Captain Jack! His costume was authentic, he was wonderful with all the little boys and girls, and he really looked and acted like captain Jack with his accent and mannerisms!
We had a walk the plank set up, he had the kids walk the plank with his demonstration, he taught the kids how to“sword fight,” and to top it off, he took them on a treasure hunt to find buried treasure in our backyard (which I hid!). It was awesome! My twins still talk about their Pirate Birthday.

I hired Parrot Jack and his pirate crew to do a pirate themed party for Halloween this year.
It was not just a Halloween party, Parrot Jack made it an EPIC Halloween party. People are still talking about it today.
The set up crew was on time. They brought a truck load of set quality props and placed them around my house. They were very efficient and finished setting up early, which gave me time to focus on other party related items — like sampling the grog, before the guests arrived.
The pirates were authentic. The pirates actually talk like pirates the entire party, sang, played guitar to welcome my quests, put on dueling and sword fighting shows, and did everything they could to make sure everyone had a great time. The band Parrot Jack provided was wonderful. Every one enjoyed the buccaneer ditties and music.
They do what they say they are going to do and then some. They set up, clean up, and best of all, I do not have to store large Halloween props the rest of the year. It is a hassle free way to entertain.

Captain Jack and his team have been amazing to work with. We were looking for pirate themed character for our large scale events and each and every time (three times now) they have gone above and beyond to make the events as successful as possible.
We are using their services again this Saturday for another event. It is refreshing to be able to call them up and have no headaches.

First of all, if I could give this company negative stars, I would.
I am writing this based on a HORRENDOUS experience I had at work today. We had asked for the Rio bird show and wanted to confirm with the guy when and what time he was coming. Not only did the person working customer service not confirm with us, he was extremely rude to all of our staff. He refused to give us the number of the guy coming to perform and gave us little to no information about what the show would be like.
I would like to review how the show went– not worth the $ 400 that was spent and was extremely painful to watch. Customer service told me that they would arrive just before the show started which sounded extremely unprofessional to me, assuming there would be set-​up required prior to the start of the show. (Not to mention, the customer service guy told me that piece of information in a very condescending way as if I were an idiot) This company claims that they do shows all over the nation, but how many customers are returning customers? Probably none. The birds were not well trained enough to do all the tricks (and frankly, didn’t respond to many of the commands) and the one hour show that we had asked for was cut short 20 minutes. Sadly, this isn’t the worst part yet.
After the show, we called the company to give us an invoice for the check we had paid for. For constructive criticism purposes, we also wanted to let them know that the way they handled the whole «confirming situation» was not efficient enough and made us quite unhappy. Instead of taking this piece of criticism like professionals would, they turned the tables on us and called us unprofessional. The worst part: HE CALLED ONE OF OUR STAFF MEMBERS AUTISTIC because he called many times to try and confirm and didn’t speak «clearly enough.» Not only is that extremely disrespectful to those with special needs, but is also VERY unprofessional of them to say to a customer who just paid $ 400 for this terrible experience.

I hope that you guys take this review into heavy consideration for your future customers, however, you won’t be hearing from my work again.

I called today to attempt to get information and pricing and the man that answered the phone was shockingly rude. Abruptly answering the phone «PARTIES!» then annoyingly cutting me off mid-​sentence as I’m attempting to explain what I’m looking for. I had just sent the link to their website to 3 people telling them how excited I was that I had found exactly what I was looking for. Only to be spoken to like I was a complete dolt because I don’t have any experience with something like this. I would have not only used them, but definitely passed on their information to my massive family.
A recommendation for this company that they have obviously not figured out by the reviews on this page:
Bad word of mouth travels 100x faster than good. Good service should be standard and in the day and age of social media and internet reviews; excellent and bad service hit the web at the speed of light. You might wanna work on your customer service skills.

If I could give this company NEGATIVE stars, I would. I just got off the phone with them and had the WORST consumer experience of my lifetime! WOW, oh WOW! I will be hosting a corporate event for our clients’ families and was looking to hire a pirate. I saw their website and it looked great so I decided to give them a call. BIG mistake! The guy was so RUDE! I asked him for pricing which he quoted $ 250 for an hr and said that I would be getting the Captain Jack Sparrow from Disneyland and said what a great deal it was. I said, that sounds great! After asking him if the date was available and confirming that it was, I told him that I will call him back after shopping around. Who doesn’t shop around??? That’s when he got NASTY.
He said «Obviously, you haven’t been around long enough to know much…»
I said, «You’re right… I’ve never hired an impersonator before so I want to see what else is out there.»
He said «Well, you’ve called the best so everything else is going to be awful compared to us. You get what you pay for.»
I said «Yes…this is true, but I still want to see what else is out there.»
He said «Well, don’t call us back and you probably won’t be in business long enough… blah, blah, blah»
That’s when I hung up on him. Who has a viable business treating POTENTIAL customers like that??? I would have happily paid $ 250/​hr + $ 100/​additional hour if he wasn’t such a complete jerk.

I never actually met these people or witnessed one of their events. But that’s sort of the problem. My interaction with them prior to my son’s 5^th birthday party was such a failure that I wouldn’t trust them for our event. I corresponded with someone at the company named Parrot Jack. He was terse, elusive, and reluctant to provide the information I asked for. I guess he just wasn’t interested in my business? I am pasting our correspondence below so you can see what I mean.
