Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen

Went out with my boyfriend, the original wait time was about 25 – 30 mins. Ended up waiting around 10. We sat down, the waitress came right away. she was very sweet ! she put in our order and it came right away. At the same time my boyfriend and I were still deciding if we should get an appetizers or not lol. The food for me was average it was barley warm. My Gabriel on the other hand enjoyed his. The only problem was we waited so long for the server to come back and when she did we asked for refills (took almost 15 mins). Each time she took so long we waited there another 15 mins after we were done with our meal .even with our check it took a very long time. We understand that she was busy and maybe even new we still tipped her well. But service was really average :/

Good service and drinks, food was not so good. Steak was dry and overcooked and manager didn’t care… Oh well lesson learned

I’ve been here a number of times for the last couple of years, pretty good food for the price, fair service, and it’s in an accessible area. It does get crowded and loud sometimes which can be a bit annoying, I haven’t had a bad experience with the servers but some could be more attentive.
I usually order the Santa Fe Spinach dip for the appetizer, and it’s served with corn chips and salsa. My go to plate is the Grilled Lemon Pepper Catfish with two sides, the fish is well seasoned, and it has a great taste to me. Today I ordered the Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms, with the baked potato and steamed broccoli. The chicken was well done and juicy, my only disappointment was the canned mushrooms I prefer fresh! Will go back again!

Cheddars Scratch Kitchen does seem to be made from scratch then allowed to sit under a heat lamp. The mac and cheese was luke warm. The green beans lacked flavor. The grilled tilapia and shrimp with mango salsa was the only redeeming part of the meal. I also enjoyed the stuffed baked potatoes skins but they were skimpy on the sour cream. The waitress did not introduce herself but the receipt said Aries. And when did it become common for your server to sit at the table to take your order? She did check on me often and brought more Dr. Pepper. They seated me at the back of the restaurant in a claustrophobic booth where I had a lovely view of the servers and their computer. I hope the lady with the chronic cough over my right shoulder gets better. Too bad the couple with the toddler didn’t arrive sooner. I’d at least have had something to look at.

We went for a b-​day party. Service was less then good. Party of 7 was put in a small area. No appetizers was offered and we constantly had to ask for drink refills. And the wait staff was less then cordial. The only bright point to the whole evening was the Chef coming to the table. 1pack of crackers was giving for two soup orders. Never again will we visit this establishment!!!

Cheese burger came out wrong 1^st time. Cheese burger came out wrong 2^nd time. Sucked for my guest. But my food, salmon, rice, Mac n cheese was excellent as you can see from my cleaned plate. Stop ordering burgers, I say. The spinach dip was hot and fresh. Took forever to get it, however. We sat at the bar, as the floor wait was too long.

This place is horrible. We waited 20 mins for a table of 2. There were open table all over the restaurant that were dirty and hadn’t been cleaned. When we finally got to our table our server was rude and she seemed like she didn’t want to be there. It took 25mins for our food. When we got it, it was cold. At that point I wasn’t even hungry. I asked for the manager he was very nice and he didn’t charge us for our cold food. Horrible services I will never go here again or refer ANYONE to go to cheddars on Greenville. McDonald’s is better then this place!

Just moved to Dallas from out of state and my sister and I wanted to try a restaurant that we haven’t been to. We didn’t read the reviews before coming, but their menu seemed fairly inexpensive so we were not sure what to expect. When we arrived, were seated right away, and the inside appearance was better than what we had anticipated. Unfortunately, we sat for about 15 minutes before even being greeted. We were about to get up and leave, when Aries came over to ask if anyone had helped us, when we told her no, she apologized and let us know that she didn’t know who’s section we were in, but that she would help us. We got our waters right away, and when the food came out, it was delicious.
During our meal, there were a couple of times when the hostess would come to seat other guests near us, but had a hard time remembering what table to sit them at. Later, a server delivered food to a table who had already gotten their food. The waitstaff was extremely friendly, but seemed a little inexperienced/​new.
Again, the food was great, and inexpensive. But we would have given them a 1 star if it weren’t for Aries. We will probably be back, and I’d recommend giving them a try!

Being midway between my work and my parent’s house, this is where I usually meet my father for lunch. It’s always near full during the week, but we’ve never had to wait.
I’ve had the fried catfish and the chicken fried steak. They’re fine, no complaints, but my go to is the veggie plate. With a baked potato (or soup) and four other sides plus a croissant that’s dripping copious amounts of honey butter, this is a rather large plate of food for the paltry sum of $ 6.49. Seriously, that price is so low, it’s scandalous.
The loaded baked potato is small to medium, but with all the other sides, that’s perfect. It has a seasoned skin and is always cooked fluffy.
Two of my other choices are always the incredibly savory southern green beans and the sweet-​like-​I-​like-​it coleslaw.
My third choice alternates between the steamed broccoli with the suspicious buttery taste and the nap-​inducing broccoli cheese casserole.
My fourth option rotates between one of the other items.

This place has the worst customer service. I’ve gone here several times and given them more than one chance, but the waiters are rude, they pass you over, don’t help, take forever and bring the wrong food. I’d rather go down the road and spend my money in a place that appreciates my business. The last time, the place was empty and it took 15 minutes of being ignored, finally we just left. So Rude!!!

Horrible experience. My first time to Cheddar and unfortunately I will not come back to this dirty restaurant. Our waitress brought our group to the other side of restaurant which is darker and dirtier. Foods were so-​so as well. Did I say I will not come back?

I’m in town visiting from Phoenix and decided to come here with my date since I don’t believe we have a place like this where I live. We get inside and there is plenty of room for seating but the hostess said there was a 15 min wait. We put our name on the list but decided to go to the bar. There was only one person working and she seemed overwhelmed. Took her awhile to acknowledge us so I told our date we can leave since we wasn’t even offered anything to drink and we’ve been there over 5 mins. As soon as we were leaving another bartender named Will asked if we had been helped and I said No. Right away he took care of us the whole night. I don’t know if people called out for work since it was New Year’s Day but the service was bad until Will came. The food and drinks were excellent too. I do plan on coming back to this restaurant just not sure if it will be this location. The quality of people that came there to eat was a little ghetto and customer service is not good. If it wasn’t for Will at the bar we would’ve left. My rating would’ve been one star if not for him and the food/​drinks.

Ok so things started out a little rocky when my two daughters and myself got seated, the hostess sat us at a dirty table that we didn’t notice till we sat down so when the waiter came he was the one who got the side eyed for it but it wasn’t meant that way I was just angry we were sat at a dirty table however he was embarrassed and quickly cleaned the table. I like going here but I must say that the food is just okay its nothing special really I had the Club Sandwich only because I know the food is just okay and I don’t want to spend a lot on just okay food. The drinks were really good though I had a Long Island Ice Tea with all the premiums in it I could only drink half of it I’ll be back for the drinks only. I wish I had gotten our waiters name because after the dirty table thing he did all he could to make us comfortable seeing it really wasn’t his fault but we tipped him good because he deserved it!

I understand why most people are complaining about the service. Most of the waitstaff here are very young and inexperienced. They are pretty nice but their inexperience makes them a little inefficient. Food was delicious but a little cold.
I had their steak and shrimp combo with their broccoli and cheese casserole and a side of corn.

Horrible service! My mom and I came to Dallas from Houston for the weekend and decided to have dinner here! WORST MISTAKE EVER MADE FOR US!!!
For one, our server wasn’t personable nor friendly.
Second, my food was really disgusting. I ordered the chicken strips and shrimps with a loaded baked potato and broccoli. Then, the server came back and delivered our food. I noticed that I didn’t have my loaded bake potato, the server then proceeded to say that the kitchen was OUT OF POTATOES! I kinda get that because I worked at a restaurant, however I don’t recall us ever running out of a food item. Then I looked at my broccoli, it was brown! DISGUSTING! I then told the server that I would like a fresher side, I ended up substituting the broccoli for some salty fries and a brown (suppose to contain green lettuce) salad. Nothing here was fresh from what I experience. My mom’s dish had very little rice, more of the miscellaneous items than the actual dish. This was a huge disappointment.

Out of town visiting family and wanted to eat somewhere I never ate before… The chicken tenders were delicious and the loaded baked potato… My cousin had the baby back ribs and mashed potatoes and was delicious as well

Terrible service. I was seated in bar area which was fine. Sat for 10 mins with no water no nothing. No one said a word just walked past me so I left. I will not return in the foreseeable future.

As soon as I walked in the door I really wanted to walk back out bc the smell was horrible! It smell like pee and must mixed together. I didn’t leave because I was meeting with some friends. I thought maybe the dining area wasn’t as bad, but it still stinks. The service was not the best either. The waitress was nice but she took forever to bring our drinks out. My friends and I ordered several drinks and it barely had any alcohol in it. What is the point of getting a drink to celebrate the weekend when you can’t even get a buzz??? I will never come back here.

The servers were pretty nice. However, we had three different servers and they kept forgetting items we orders. The drinks also tasted like they had no alcohol content.

Staying at the hotel next door so I figured I’d get a Togo order. Wait… No really wait… That’s what I did. Bartender is overloaded and if there was additional staff I did not see them or thought they were customers. Wait … Some more… She took my order, but during this time I read reviews. Angela H.‘s review made me nervous so I paid cash after carefully reviewing to bill. Wait… Wait… Still no food so I’ll keep typing. Ordered BIG beer… Almost gone, there are two employees here! Oh wait … Three, break must be over. Nice décor and the b-​tender is friendly, food is here with and inch of beer left in the glass. 5 stars to the bartender, but 2 go to cheddar’s. Management… Get this lady some help!

Went here after asking someone at my hotel where they would go. The food was very bad, the service was poor, took a long time to get drink refills, it was pretty dirty. The table and floor were sticky. I would not go to a Cheddar’s again.

I enjoyed the menu. The atmosphere was cool and the food was good! The chef came out to greet us and the Asian salad was perfect!

The worst service EVER. Of all the times that my family has been to this location to celebrate, we’ve never been treated so horribly and passed off in the rudest way ever. Between the hostess and the Manager Todd, corporate should definitely look into signing them up for Customer Service 101.
When I first walked in, I mentioned to the hostess, a young lady, bubbly attitude, seemed like she was an expert at her job, that I had a party of 10 possibly more. Our name was not added on the list. Now keep in mind, I arrived to the restaurant at around 6:00/6:05pm. So my family arrives and it ends up being 13 that need to be seated. The hostess said that they’ve had bigger parties come to their restaurant, it will be no problem for us to be seated, they’ll take care of us.
Time passes and we find out that our name was never added to the wait list. We were wondering why we were seeing person after person, party after party, being seated before us. So, we asked the hostess how much longer it would be and she looks around the restaurant and says something in the area of, «You’re probably not going to like this answer, but I have to tell you anyways. At this time, we don’t have any tables available to seat your table, so the wait will be around 45 minutes to an hour.» Unacceptable. We asked why is that?! She says that Mondays are usually their slow days, so they’re not fully staffed, but clearly they forgot that it was a holiday (President’s Day), so they were busier than normal. That’s not our fault. SO at that point, we called asked for the Manager, Todd.
He pretty much tells us the same thing, BUT adds on that the section towards the back of the restaurant, where big parties are seated, was closed that night because they don’t have enough wait staff and he didn’t want us to have bad service. WAY too late for that. So, basically, he repeated, we have no where to seat you all and we can’t do anything for your party. SHOCKED at the response, we left out of the establishment with the quickness.
Hands down… the worst way to handle customers EVER

We got a couple of salads as take out. I found a price tag mixed in with mine and half a tomato in my side of dressing. It was disgusting.

First off, Cheddar’s is so cheap.
Second off, you really get what you pay for.
We started off with cheese fries and chips and queso. Both were delicious. We shared these two apps with three people and all three of us were stuffed by the time that our meals came out.
I ordered the 8 ounce sirloin, medium rare, mac & cheese, and a loaded baked potato. The steak was surprisingly cooked perfectly and had a great taste. My mac & cheese was lukewarm and I was too full to touch the baked potato. While I should have told them about the cold mac & cheese, I don’t know how comfortable I would be sending food back at this particular Cheddar’s.
The service was not great and was very slow. There was also a police officer sitting out front of the restaurant.
All in all, as I mentioned before, you get what you pay for.

This is one of my favorite places to eat! The food is always delicious and they also have amazing drinks with the best prices!
Starting with the appetizers try the Santa Fe Spinach Dip or the Queso with ground beef. For my meal, I tend to always order the same thing which is the Chicken Tenders basket (buffalo style) with broccoli cheese casserole and a loaded baked potato. If you order a salad make sure to ask for a honey butter croissant, SO good! And for dessert you must try the monster cookie, especially if you are cookie fanatic like I am.
Forgot to mention about the drinks! Cheddars has fantastic drinks! I recommend the Pain Killer, the Maui Margarita, Texas Sweet Tea, or the Strawberry Swirl Margarita.
Highly recommend checking out this place! I am here at least once a week because I am so addicted to the food!
