Apparently, this place is not an express. Been waiting here at the drive thru for 15 mins now. So starving.

Chicken Express is just amazingly good in general. Comfort food that will make you sleepy and keep you full. This location was one of the best ones I’ve been too. The customer service was above and beyond. The cashier saved us a couple of bucks by rearranging some things on the menu she did not have to do that. They were constantly cleaning the dinning area that’s always a bonus at any restaurant. Restroom was clean. If you never had Chick Express you are missing out blows Canes out of the water easy.

I really struggled with this because I’ve experienced good tenders from this location but had never had the chicken pieces. I dropped by today to pick up some for dinner and immediately noted to the cashier that it appeared wet/greasy. she said it just came up fresh. she was nice enough and I gathered my goods and left. after preparing the rest of my dinner to accompany the chicken, I encounter the toughest, fatty/slimy, flavorless undercooked bleeding chicken ever. disgusting and overpriced. unfortunate because this location has a really nice manager. one can’t make this type of accusation without proof so please see the breast complete with blood and grease here.

I’m always pleased with Chicken Express no matter the location, and I’ve been to several. This one measures up quite well. As others have stated, the chicken tenders and gravy is their specialty and well worth a try. Sides are OK but I always get the fried okra. My wife got the corn on the cob and said that it seemed to have been in the water too long. But it tasted OK. This particular location suffers from being a little hard to get to and you can’t really see the sigh when coming from the south on Central until it’s too late. And that’s a shame. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I am addicted to their corn nuggets, rolls and sweet tea. Not a fan of anything else here. The staff is so not friendly… they just stand at the window and have their hand out. Not repeating the total of your order or greeting you… and no one covers their hair… which really disturbs me… I know it’s all fried but I don’t want hair strands with my corn nuggets!!! The 4 stars is for the corn nuggets, rolls and sweet tea!

Came back to try the tenders everyone was raving about. They were good and so was the service. I will try them again.

The drive thru was quick and the staff was friendly. I absolutely love the chicken tenders and gravy. That is they way they were meant to be eaten with a nice helping of delicious, hot gravy. Their French fries and mashed potatoes are awesome. Surprisingly enough I haven’t had any other sides, I usually stick with what I know. The inside is very clean and comfortable. Literally the only problem I have is that I have to go all the way past royal and uturn under hwy 75 to get there, it’s a bit of a hassle and makes it take me 15 min to get there, still I am loyal CE goer and this won’t stop me. The sweet tea is by far the sweetest most delicious tea I’ve ever had. The rolls are also top notch and always make my meal.

I hadn’t eaten chicken gizzards in like years and years literally. But I stopped in here on a whim to compare the price of their wing dings to Golden Chick’s, and ended up getting chicken gizzards. Now that’s all I get. They’re pretty addictive. I haven’t tried their chicken pieces, chicken tenders, or fish. I also get their jalapeño poppers which are reasonably priced. The rolls, which are addictive too, are the same as Golden Chick’s. I usually feed the left over ones to the birds. I used to get their mashed potatoes but I stopped because they kept forgetting to put them in the damn box. Now if only Chicken Express had spicy rice and macaroni and cheese. Then I wouldn’t have to make an extra trip to Golden Chick to pick up my side items. Why does this place close so damn early on weekends?

I am an absolutely sucker for good chicken tenders, and Chicken Express has been doing them the right way for years. I normally come here for drive thru service, which depending on the time of day can take a little bit. The white meat tenders they use are flavorful, and the breading has salty, crunchy, breading. This is not health food, so expect for your fingers to be greasy. The fries, if they are hot are pretty good, but they are not always hot. I usually opt for a roll over a biscuit, which is generally a fluffy and sweet delight. If you want to add some spice to your gravy, make sure to ask for«Spicy Serendipity.» This spice is some mixture of seasoned salt, and heat that melds well with the gravy for me. I do not stop in here too often, but it is a place worth craving. Addressing some of the other reviews, I have never had any issues with the staff being rude. Normally, everyone I deal with is polite and helpful if I have any questions. I have not had problems with incorrect orders either.

Okay, so I will admit this: My Boyfriend, Mark and I stopped by Chicken Express tonight, in DALLAS, TX — off of i75/Royal Lane(not Healthy, but a good snack) while my Brew was sitting in the crock pot(taking its’ precious time, GEESCHE!). Well, I posted 2 pictures of this incident on my FB Page; you can see how the Styrofoam melted. I have ALSO added pictures to Chicken Expresses Unilocal Profile. Go there and check out the WHITE StryoFoam Pictures that I uploaded. You can see the Melting. I took a spoon full at one point and I could see the melted Styrofoam in the potatos. GROSSSSSS!!! BPA’s are toxic(found in cheap plastics, etc.)!!! Look at the pictures, you can see the melted portions!!! GRRRRRR, it’s a good thing I detox, daily! I have eaten multiple times at Chicken Express, but after this, I just cannot eat here until they replace this material with a more HEALTHY alternative, like paper-based containers and plate-ware. Again, I love their food(For Snack purposes). Bisphenol-A is nothing to reckon with. Note to Chicken Express: PLEASE resolve this. If anyone has questions regarding the SERIOUS health side-effects of this chemical, please use naturalnews or google to research it for yourselves. ALSO, there is a reason we have taken BPA out of children’s toys and bottles, etc. Parents take their kids to Chicken Express! Scary! GOLDEN Chick also uses Styrofoam. But, I like Chicken Express and hope they resolve this quickly. Also, I wish they would use Chicken Farmers that do not inject their chickens with Growth Hormones and AntiBiotics. But hey, we can start with the BPA filled, Melting containers(Styrofoam). BADBAD!

All chicken expresses are well kept and well stocked with condiments. This location as busy as it is is always really clean. You will have to wait in line during lunch but the staff do a great job at hurrying things up. You can fry chicken but so fast i guess.

The dining room of this location was clean and well-stocked with condiments. The tea was freshly brewed and tasty. All three employees I interacted with were friendly, helpful, and observed cleanliness procedures to the letter. It was a busy weekday lunch when I visited. The doing area was very full, but orders were being delivered quickly and my food was hot and fresh. I’m pretty particular about the temperature of my food and Chicken Express did a great job delivering a hot product. I was also offered dipping sauces without having to ask, which was nice. Very good experience!

This store has the RUDEST staff in the whole chain!!! The staff are rude, rarely get the order correct and seem to be racist towards white people! I ordered mashed potatoes and they left it out. When I came back to the store(8 miles round trip) the manager tonight laughed at me when I was talking to him. There was another staff member who had nothing to do with this, kept on butting in until I told the manager that I am not talking to him! I was told that they weren’t going to replace the potatoes and I had to pay extra. So I actually paid twice for it! When I got my change and receipt the girl dropped my change into my hand, throw the receipt onto the counter top!!! The people begin me were treat much better(I am white and the people behind me are black as is the server. I do not worry about race, I am mentioning it here to make my point.) The manager told me that his staff do make mistakes and that they are never rude!!! He tried to confuse me by asking me a lot of questions and not letting me answer him!!! I said that I want fresh food made and when he said that he can’t do that, I said that now that he has handled the food and if he doesn’t replace the meal, I will call the owner and the corporate. HEREPLACEDTHEMEAL! Funny how that works isn’t it! He called into question my honour and integrity. I like the food there and I will go back, just not often.

I have grown too really like Chicken Express, even though I am not really a fried food or chicken tender person which is what Chicken Express serves, but do think they have it down. This review is not a reflection of Chicken Express as a company; it is about this location and its owner. STAYAWAY there is better food for your money just down the street. This location does not represent Chicken E very well. My first experience was at the peak of lunch time during the week, I ordered the chicken tenders combo and some catfish in the drive thru and took it to my office nearby. The food was not fresh and was not hot at all. So I threw it out. -$ 11 A week or so later I decided to give them another try. This time it was late in the evening and the lobby was closed when I tried to walk in(I wanted to make sure they made my food fresh). So I ordered from the drive thru. My order was rather large and diverse, Chicken Tenders, Catfish, Fries, Gizzards, okra, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. I was very direct with the worker and asked that my order be made fresh. I was very intentional and told him I knew it would take longer but I would prefer to wait. I asked him at least 3 times during the order process to make sure it was going to be cooked to order while I waited. I pulled to the window and paid cash for my order, -$ 44. I waited several minutes and then received my food and took it to my family nearby. Once I opened the food I determined that the only item made fresh was the Gizzards, once again, the chicken, catfish and other fried food had obviously been sitting for some time. I was so frustrated that I called the store and asked to speak to the manager, he told me he would have the day manager call me and handle getting me a refund, he couldn’t handle it. After a few days of no call back, I called the store again and was able to reach the manager, he acknowledge getting a note from the manager on duty and informed me that there was nothing he could do because I didn’t have my receipt. «They didn’t give it to me». I asked to speak to his manager and was eventually connected with one of the franchise owner’s he too took a stand that he could not refund my money because I didn’t have my receipt and could be trying to scam him. I shared some personal information that would convince him I was not trying to scam him, but wanted my money refunded. Yet, he refused to refund my money. I went on to tell him that I intended to write a bad review on Unilocal and he reconsidered and said he would reluctantly refund my money so we arranged to meet at his location later that day. I arrived on time to find out he had changed his mind and was not there to meet me, instead, he asked his manager on duty to tell me he wasn’t going to be there. I called the owner again and he stated he decided to handle the matter another way and would mail me a gift card for their company. At this point I was more frustrated about driving to his store and being stood up than being out the money I spent at this location. So I told him I didn’t want a gift card mailed to me I wanted my cash refunded by him as previously promised. He refused. Needless to say, BUYERBEWARE, if you go to this location, check the quality of your food, make sure you have a receipt and be ready to deal with promises they will not keep! I am giving this location 1 star because you can’t give it a negative 55 stars. Personally, I would rather drive to another location or another restaurant than spend a penny that would benefit a dishonest person such as the owner of this store. I may even rent the billboard above his location to share my thoughts! It is a really cool electronic one that tens of thousands of people see every day! Also researching how to write a blog, Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh. My. Liver! Not MY liver, but the chicken fried liver that this place sells is gooooood. Some of you will stop reading now because you’re thinking«ew, gross, she likes liver.» That’s okay, I respect that. But I freaking loved the liver combo. So sue me. The order was enormous. A box full of fried liver deliciousness, a cup of white gravy to dip it in, a roll(hubs had ordered biscuits but they gave us rolls, boo, buttery and not bad, but I wanted a biscuit!), and a thing of coleslaw(my selection for a side). And a ginormous cup of sweet tea. I only drank about ¼ of it because I didn’t want to be bouncing off the walls all night. The liver was amazing. The coleslaw was fine. The gravy was good. Did I mention that the liver was freaking awesome? I tasted hubster’s regular fried chicken, and it was quite good. Not too greasy and seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were pretty good, too. Not homemade or anything but better than what you’d expect. We generally try not to get fa(s)t food too often, but you don’t usually find a box of delicious fried liver on the menu at a drive thru. They also make it fresh so you have to pull over and wait a few minutes. Three words: worth the wait!

Good consistent food. I like this place and go about every other week. I get the number one. It’s a little pricey at $ 7 – 8 for lunch, but it includes a large 32oz drink, a roll and a side. I always add the spicy flavoring from the packets and dip it in their cream gravy. The folks that work there are nice and appreciative and keep things clean and moving.

So on my last trip to Dallas, after a long night of going out we were looking for some fast food to cure a bad hangover. We were looking for In N Out, but we missed it and while making the U-turn my friend suggested that we get the sweet tea at Chicken Express. I had never heard of chicken E, before. He claimed that the sweet tea was better than chick fil a, so I was sold. We were crazy when we ordered we wanted to try everything, so we got the 7 tender express with gravy and a bisquit with a side. We opted for corn nuggets. The tenders were great, the gravy was just OK, and the corn nuggets were my fav! But then we also ordered a 8 piece mixed chicken family pack. The chicken was good, the same batter as the tenders ad it came with rolls. Their rolls are way better than their biscuits and we got an order of their mashed potatoes which was awful. And the sweet tea, should not be considered even a contender with chick fil a sweet tea. Overall, stick to the tenders and get a roll. But go to raising cane’s way better tenders and sauce.
