Horrible. Fred made me feel like a second-​rate customer for having a green and white gift certificate and called me to let me know that he couldn’t honor an appointment that his receptionist made. I told my sister and aunt I was going to give them this as a gift when I visited in TX and now they can’t go. First he said the certificate must be 5 years old, then he said 10, and then he said 7 after I told him the address that was on the certificate. He even claimed that they don’t do anything with hot towels when other reviews on here are talking about it!
It’s not my fault that his business name is on a gift certificate without an expiration date. I’m so disgusted and disappointed, and wish they were all professional enough to tell customers upfront which certificates they will honor before getting people’s hopes up and scheduling appointments. HORRIBLE way of doing business — I feel cheated and disrespected.

My husband got us a groupon for a couples massage at horizon. After reading all the reviews, I was very nervous! Fred was my masseuse, and my husband’s was Maryam. Fred was absolutely amazing! From the second the massage began, I knew it was going to be fabulous. It got better and better! He worked out all my knots and tension. I left feeling so relaxed. I even bought one of their punch cards so I can continue coming back! I cannot wait for my next massage — I would recommend horizon to anyone in need of a great massage!

I had a wonderul massage from Horizon! It was actually the best massage I’ve ever had. I have a hard time finding someone to give me really good deep tissue, but not here at Horizon! The staff is friendly and I was able to rebook and repurchase my promotional certificate! If your looking for a wonderful massage, this is the place to go!

I have tried nearly every massage spa around; massage envy and countless others. This place is by far the best to get a massage. I have recommended it to all of my friends and family and will continue to do so.
The owner is one of the most professional and kind people I know. And the service is also professional and kind.
I have gone for back problems, sciatica and even shoulder pains as well. I tell the therapist the issues I’m having and they work all the knots out.
I would never go anywhere else. So definitely try this place, you won’t regret it!

The other reviews on here are completely bogus!!! Do not listen to them! We went here for couple’s massage with groupon and had a great experience. We had very relaxing massages; loved the atmosphere of the room and the meditative music; massage therapists were very professional; we also got the hand scrubs done. The hot towels were amazing on the neck and back during the massage too. If you want to support a locally owned business and get a killer massage, go here. We loved it!!!

After having come back a second time, I’m going to have to say, unfortunately, that my previous review stands. I came back for the exact same service (70 minute couples massage to mimic the Groupon deal). Instead, I received a 60 minute massage that was made 70 minutes long due to an additional 10 minutes of waiting for the masseuses to come into the room. I understand that’s sometimes a practice at massage studios but it would have been nice for Horizon to be upfront about this.
So this leads me to one conclusion: the business needs to be completely transparent about the timing of its services. I’m not a business consultant, but I do have a few suggestions. If you advertise a 70 minute couples massage, then either (1) actually render a 70 minute massage, (2) include a footnote in the groupon, the website, or any other ads that 70 minutes includes a typical 10 minute consultation or wait with the masseuse, or (3) advertise you only give 60 minute massages.

These reviews are all so true The negative ones. Bought a punch card can never get an appointment, cant get my money back, the place is so un professional. Cant get anyone to ever answer the phones, they are always running late.

My husband & I had previously purchased multiple gift certificates from a man from Enhanced Massage & Wellness/​Horizon massage when their Bedford office was open & also at a Dallas event. Their Bedford office always had scheduling issues (high staff turnover) but we stupidly kept buying certificates because they were a really good deal & the massages were usually really good, even if we could not schedule with the same person again. I had called several weeks ago to make an appointment at their Carrollton/​Dallas office on Frankford & mentioned that I had Enhanced Massage & Wellness/​Horizon Massage gift certificates. I told the girl we did not need a couples room as I prefer a separate room as my husband sometimes snores, and she even took my husband’s name down. Fast forward to the day of our massages, we drive to the shopping center that is in an Aldi’s parking lot & looks a little interesting from the outside, and the guy who sold us the certificates greets us. He then tells us only ONE appointment was made & he does not have the staff for two. I told my husband he can have the appointment & the guy asks for our certificates. Then he proceeds to tell me they are 8 years old (they are not) and keeps mentioning a woman that owned the Bedford location, how he never saw a cent from the certificate sales (I don’t believe this as he was at the Bedford location and SOLD them to us), and said he only honored the certificates while that location was still in business. I could MAYBE understand some of this had HE not sold us these certificates or if the name of the location AND the address of the location we had just walked into was not on the certificates. Really shady business practices, especially since he remembered us from before & there were many other ways the situation could have been handled — he could have even offered the one massage at a discounted rate instead of going on and on about some woman he obviously had a falling out with.

so got a groupon for this place– excited b/​c it was for a couple’s massage so me and u know who can go together. he hardly ever gets massage, so good treat for him!
3 is probably about right for this place.
Pros: nice entrance area and a good relaxin smell, the rooms are fairly nice, the massage is good. really liked the hot towels. and the scent of the oil/​lotion is really nice too.
Cons: the hot towel /​papaya thing is not really worth the extra cost. it’s like 5 – 7 min and it’s also just part of the massage time… i. e your total massage time is reduced to do the hand massage/​papaya. they also def didnt’ do 70 min. it was 60 min at most. i also thought the room was really cold. the weirdest thing is when i walked to the back to go to the bathroom. there’s just a random man sleeping in a random chair in the back. i’m not really sure if he was a customer or massage person… it was just really weird.

ok… so after searching high & low for my favorite masseuse from back in the day… i found her! She’s now at Horizon Massage and Wellness certain weekends off Marsh and she has her location of Serenity Beyond Day Spa in Plano.
I found Mrs. Lynn about 4 years ago and was in Heaven the 1^st time I had a massage with her. Due to the increasing pain in the *** traffic on 635 to get to her location, I went to other spots closer to home… that were just ok! But when my wife told me to book me a massage with whomever I wanted for V-day…I was on a mission.
Made a phone call… booked an appt… waiting patiently for the day to arrive!
The Saturday of my appt… my back was killing me… perfect timing for a massage but just hell moving around. When I arrived I hugged Mrs. Lynn because it was so nice to see a familiar face!
I signed in… she showed me to the room… let me get comfortable and on the table and then she came back in. Normally… I like silence and to just chillax while getting a massage… but when the conversation is good & just catching up with an old friend… I was very relaxed. LAWD y’all that 90 min massage took me out of this world. She healed aches I didn’t know I had with oils, lotions, hot towels, stones… GAWD HELP ME!!! LOL… and eased my stress level and just had me on cloud nine. Unfortunately, my back pain is a little more complicated and she did relieve the pain a tad bit but not enough… still had to visit my doctor. But it’s all good… I’ll be back to my every other month appts with her!!! Thanks Mrs. Lynn!!!

I am giving them a one star because I can’t seem to make an appointment with them. When I call they are booked solid and when they have openings they have to cancel bc they do not have a prenatal therapist working that day… I’ve tried to make an appt for the past two months that I have had this groupon. I called over the weekend and made an appt for today Tuesday at 6pm bc their weekends are booked solid… I told them it was a prenatal they said that’s fine. I called a bunch of times yesterday morning while At work and it kept saying caller was busy… I kept trying to call back but phone was busy. So I waited to call back after 5pm beCause they say they are there until 8pm. (which is perfect for people working). I left a message yesterday bc no one answered and asked them to call me back. No call back no cancellation call when they found out there was a prenatal massage scheduled And there is no therapist… I called a few times today and tried to make sure they were set up for a prenatal massage bc I didn’t want them to turn me away or spend my massage time setting up for my prenatal. I understand this isn’t anything like green lotus spa so I kept my expectations low, I read reviews and was like oh well let’s give them a shot who knows maybe they will be worth it. But so far I feel like I have had such awful service. Last time I called to cancel the day prior because my sister in law had a baby… the lady flipped out on me and said I can’t cancel… But it’s ok for them to cancel on me without notification or not call me back. I’m just very disappointed, I might even gift my groupon to someone else so I don’t have to deal with them anymore. I just bought it bc they offer a couples massage and it sounds sweet. super sad now and still aching.

Bought a living social deal. Although, I was hesitant to make appt — due to some reviews, I took a chance and ended up being very pleased. I get massages regularly and that’s my focus: The actual massage. Massage was one of the best. Ambiance was ‘meh’ — -no water offered after, table squeaky, etc. But, the actual skills were on point. Period. I’ll be back.

We had a couples massage purchased through Groupon. This place didn’t disappoint. Annett and Kim gave us probably the best massage ever. Hands down, no pun intended. I had an unexpected hand scrub massage as well. Very nice. Check them out. Located in a strip mall on the corner of Marsh and Frankford. We definitely will be back. You will not be disappointed.

Not worth it. Even with a groupon was a rip off. Not a professional massage place you are looking for.
Groupon should start doing a better job of posting Unilocal reviews on their site. I saw the reviews on the day of my appointment and regretted my decision since I could have cancelled my groupon if I had seen the reviews earlier. Would not recommend.

I bought a groupon and decided to get my first deep tissue massage. My neck was so tight I couldn’t look from side to side or look up without feeling tightness/​pain.
I made an appointment and went in on a Saturday. I got there and signed my papers then watched the man at the front desk walk from back room to outside to the back room. Another woman came out and did the same. I guess they were looking for my masseuse.
She came from outside and came over to introduced herself & took me to my room. Cold… brrrrrr. I got ready for my massage and I was cold. No heated tables and blankets were cold.
She asked me all the right questions. Where to focus. If I had pain or injuries. My last massage. How frequently I get one… which she chuckled at.
This massage was deep. I got the elbow treatment and it was great… except the table. Where my face was, the cushioning was thin. My face felt like it was being pushed thru a tiny hole like a playdoh machine. I kept having to readjust.
She did ask about the pressure and if the massage was getting to be too much.
Afterwards I stood up from the table (still cold) and my neck and shoulders felt great. My posture was the best it had been in years. I remarked that I felt like I could stand up straight and tall without having to think about it and force it.
The masseuse (Delorise I believe) told me that getting a massage once or twice a year for myself wasn’t doing me any good. She didn’t try to force a sale of a membership. She ask if I would like to buy a card and suggested getting monthly massages.
I would say this probably was the best massage I had in releasing my tension. I haven’t gone back because of the drive it took, the worry about unprofessionalism and waiting, & the cold hard uncomfortable tables.
I wish to find another Delorise closer to me soon.

Boo-​bear got a groupon for this place as a birthday present for a couple’s massage. I didn’t bother reading up on it until the day of, and I got a little nervous about it since the reviews were kind of all over the place.
We got there at about 10 minutes before our appt (they apparently called the day before to confirm, which is great), and we filled out an information sheet/​waiver about the services we wanted/​declined. Basically do you want them to massage your butt or not, because they definitely didn’t «focus» on the areas I asked them too.
We were delayed about 20 minutes since the people who came in before us were late, so I think that will probably hurt them for the rest of the day. While I liked my massage, and it definitely helped with some of the tension in my neck/​shoulders area (my problem areas) I was in immense pain when the masseuse was using the same tension on my lower back, and when she altered her pressure it was less all over, not just on my lower back. She also didn’t go a great job of communicating — she told me the basics like «Turn Over,» but when the was moving the blankets around to focus on areas she was just smushing them under my legs forcefully, and she wasn’t telling me «Okay, now I’m focusing on this area…» or anything.
It wasn’t the best massage, nor was it the worst. I probably won’t be back, just because I didn’t find the location that professional or relaxing, but I appreciated the Groupon regardless!

While a bit intimidated by several of the reviews here, I went to this place armed with a groupon. First, I must say that I had no difficulties at all getting the appointment scheduled on the phone, and they were great about calling me for a reminder the day before. All great so far. My wifey and I got there with about 10 minutes to spare before out appointment, and filled out a brief waiver form in which we also specified which areas we wanted to be focused on, and we also asked the question of whether we wanted to have our Gluts (gluteus maximus for you knowledgeable ones, and the butt for all the rest of us) massaged, which we kindly declined (thanks but no thanks, my butt is fine and lovely as is, ha!
Unfortunately for us, our appointment was delayed about 20 minutes because the people who had their previous appointment had come in late and so had started late, but the people at the front desk were very apologetic about it, and all is good, it was already relaxing sitting inside with some calm soothing music permeating the waiting area. That said, the bell whenever anyone opened the entrance door was quite loud and startling, jarring with any calmness the soothing music may have given one, so I would advise its volume be lowered or the tone changed altogether. Eventually, we got into our couple’s massage, and we received a great one hour long massage that included a papaya-​based hand treatment. All I can say is that I apparently really needed a massage, my masseuse finding knots that she gently but firmly kneaded and released the stress, leaving me at the end a much more relaxed individual.
Overall, I must say I really enjoyed the massage, and so did my wife. It was a good experience overall, the delay was unfortunate, but it was customer-​based so it’s excusable. I’ll be back again when I need a massage, and i’d say you should take advantage of the groupon offers, as it was worth it.

Can we request Unilocal to create a BE WARE rating?! I’ve had nothing but trouble with this place, and to top it off the massages are horrible. I found this place through Groupon, had the same problem as another Unilocaler and couldn’t even get through the phone line for weeks to schedule my massage.
My first appointment, the girl was late, and I was asked if I wanted to reschedule. REALLY? It only took me 2 months to try and use my groupon.
Fred offered a great deal right after my massage. Buy a punch card and get each massage for only $ 35. I thought what a great deal! So I purchased one. Well, I thought it was only going to be $ 35 for the next visit, but it turned out to be $ 350 for 10 visits. After he charged my card I realized that the communication wasn’t so clear.
He said I had to buy all 10 to get the discount so I was stupid enough to go ahead and keep it.
3 months later and I have only been able to use it once. I called, and called, and called. All I got was busy signals. So I called the other location in Allen. Only to find out, THERE IS NO OTHER LOCATION! So I panic and start searching online thinking they have gone out of business and stolen my money. I finally get a hold of Fred, and he acts like the phones have been working all along? I schedule an appointment, show up a little early and once again I’m sitting waiting. I am told she is running late and if I want someone else to do it. I say that’s fine, get changed and wait in the room, and the girl actually arrives. I’m face down so I can only hear the poor girl sniffling, and blowing her nose, and drinking what seems to be like Theraflu. Great, so I come for a message to relax, and feel better just so I can take home the flu?!
It gets better. She starts 10 mins late, and ends five minutes early. I change and walk out, only to hear another massage therapist complaining, «Why the hell was I scheduled if I only have one massage, what am I doing here?»
I run for the door!
For the second time I hurt after my massage. I purchased the punch card right after the first one (way too soon).
I’m ready for a refund so I call, and Fred answers, he says he is on the road and will give me a call back. YEAH, that never happened. So I get in my car two weeks later and drive up there. OF COURSE only to get some crazy lies about how he has to investigate and research the transaction to make sure I didn’t do a chargeback.
I walk out to my car and call Chase Merchant services since he says he can’t call them and simply ask. They tell me that is in fact NOT true, and regardless of him switching to another service he can still call, and receive service for his old account.
I walk back in and he continues to stall and WILL NOT provide me with a refund. He continues to lie and says he cannot give me a refund on the machine he has because it won’t process it, and says he is emailing Chase and first needs paper proof that I didn’t charge it back before he can give me a refund. He says he will put a check in the mail to me. (That really just means he has to check his account to see if he has enough funds, or he thinks if he gets rid of me it will buy him time.)
This place is far from soothing, or relaxing. The therapist do not work there to heal they work there to make money. Fred is a fraud and is only looking for a way to make fast cash.
Run for your life. Don’t buy the punch cards; don’t waste your time, just run.

Steer clear and go elsewhere! I bought a $ 75 Groupon for a 2.5 hours spa special and had until Dec. 3^rd to use it. When I purchased it, the Groupon mentioned an Allen location. However, upon calling to book, I was told the Allen location was closed for renovation and only the Frankford location was available… the first sign of bait and switch.
After numerous calls, I was able to book a time in October. Two days prior to the session, I called to confirm and apparently they lost my appointment. So I rescheduled for the day after Thanksgiving. The day before that Fred calls and tells me no one wants to work that day and they had to close shop. OK so now we are getting close to Dec. 3^rd and when the special offer expires. I called yet another 10 times or so and was able to book another time. I asked if the special offer would be honored and was told it would be. However, it was not honored so for $ 75, I got a 60 minutes massage, which isn’t that great a deal after all. I later learned that Groupon offers refunds. If I had known this i would have requested a refund ages ago and not put up with these clowns.
