Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar

I don’t know if this place will ever open. They built a building, a very nice one at that, across the street from an elementary school. Their front door, instead of opening onto Henderson, opens just feet from the residence right behind it. The majority of their parking is two blocks away.
The owners applied for a liquor license, but was quickly denied by the city council because of its proximity to the school.
Trying to circumvent the city’s decision, they have now applied for a private club license from the TABC.
The owners have shown nothing but total disregard for the wishes of the school district, the city council and especially the neighborhood. One has to wonder, when they could have opened in several other locations along Henderson with no trouble at all, why they are going to so much trouble to try and open a bar in an location where they are not wanted.
