I absolutely LOVE the Ruby Room Studio! I saw a flyer for their classes in June of 2012, saw a show they produce in August and I have been going ever since. The instructors are awesome and they learn your name and always send class reminders via email. I wish I could take them more than once a week! Everyone in the studio is super friendly and it is so much better than going to a gym, paying membership and then paying for a personal trainer because you don’t have a clue how to work out certain areas! Each class (even Intro!) works EVERY part of your body, and it is easy to do at home too! Luv it! Luv it! Luv it!

The Ruby Room is such a great place for those looking for a smaller, intimate crowd that just LOVES to dance, and wants to have fun working out! The office is great about keeping up with communication about classes and registration as well as fun info about the studio. The instructors are passionate and well trained. I took Yoga, adult ballet, and burlesque body workout. I LOVED them all. My husband and I had to cut back on some expenses this year, I hope to be back in classes by fall!

I have no dance experience in Ballet, Jazz or Modern, but I have 3+ years Pure Barre (heavy dancer conditioning). I went to RR to see if I could learn to dance. I have taken two classes from Ginger Valentine — «Intro to Burlesque», «Bumps & Grinds» — more than a few sessions. It is really fun. The women who teach are classically trained dancers. The ‘easiest’ classes can be as challenging as you make it. Missy Lisa and Ginger Valentine are both national burlesque champions so you’re learning from the best. I still feel like I have two left feet, and it is a lot easier to be lead in Tango and Salsa, but I am going back. I love supporting them, and I think ‘modern’ burlesque — done by this troupe — is a lot harder, more physically demanding, and more beautiful — than ‘old’ burlesque. By the way. don’t worry — you wear regular workout wear. This isn’t striptease — its dance.

I am so shocked that a) I’m the first person to review this studio, and b) that I’m just getting around to doing it. Ruby Room Studio is the B-​O-​M-​B. They just may turn me into a fitness fanatic yet– okay, maybe that is pushing it, but you never know!
But for real, when it comes to going to the gym, I am that person you usually have to drag kicking and screaming. It isn’t that I hate working out per say, but I just find most gyms and workouts so BORING and I have this whole thing against sitting in other people’s body funk fluid. Ewww. So I pretty much avoided gyms at all costs. Well I did until I started working out with Ginger Valentine. I can’t express to you how fun this place is. This women-​focused and owned studio is all about body positivity, getting fit and doing through the art of dance. I’ve taken several Burlesque Basics, Bumps and Grinds and I hope to take the Burlesque Body Workout as soon as I move back to Dallas. These classes are fun, will work you out so hard core and still works fantastically if you have joint problems like I do. If you are a girl of size like I am, seriously, don’t worry about it. It does not matter. You will not run into any snotty Queen B’s that deserve a good slap. Everyone is all about cheering each other own and I like that the classes aren’t huge like at regular gyms. If burlesque is not your thing, they also offer classes in Adult Ballet, Yoga and do have Hip-​Hop classes including beginning break-​dancing. How cool is that?! All of the instructors are professional dancers with years upon years of training and even better, the two owners are award winning burlesque dancers.
I know I may sound super cheesy and like an infomercial, but I was rather pleased with my experience. Parking should not be a problem and although studio may be a little tricky to find at first, you won’t have any problems afterwards. So seriously, go and get your health.
