Rob’s Chop Shop

Walked out with one of the worst haircuts in my life. Enjoyed the free beer and the conversations but highly dissatisfied with the very expensive haircut. I had to find creative ways to comb my hair and find time to go to another barber to fix.
Would not go back even if offered a free cut. Not worth it.

After waiting a while since I moved to Dallas, I finally made it down to Rob’s for a cut. He was super friendly and knew exactly what to do with what I asked for (DA).
Great atmosphere, good company, and amazing haircuts. I’ll definitely be back for more cuts!

Just left Rob’s and I have to say, best haircut I’ve ever had. I seriously love that place. Had my shoes shined as well. Very inviting. Great atmosphere. I will, without a doubt, be coming back to Rob’s until I go bald.

Holy crap. This place is so cool and Rob is a great guy that really has mastered his craft. Great haircuts. But also, the place is like a museum to barbers. He works solo, so getting in might be tricky. He is located over off Expedition. He also has a strict policy. NO WOMEN. He offers free beer to those getting a haircut and the beer I had was a Lakewood Brewery beer in a can. He definitely has a style. Think café racers, hot rods, pomade, and 50s greacer ala Greace (1978). You can see pics at his instagram which is «RobsOriginalChopShop». Hands down the best barber in the state. Third generation Texas barber where you may run into Morrissey or one of the Stray Cats there, he’s that good. Can’t recommend him high enough.

I’ve been coming here for several years, and Rob offers up the best and most consistent cut I’ve had in all my years of moving from barber to stylist and back again. The tunes playing are always top notch, the conversation can’t be beat, and his in-​house pomade is absolutely the best stuff I’ve ever slicked through my hair.

Rob is an extremely talented barber, he’s the 3^rd generation in his family and the quality of his work is indisputable. There are a lot of shops that try to mimic the vintage barbering experience, but Rob is the real deal and does every haircut himself, having his personal expertise on your haircut is 100% worth the price of admission.
The atmosphere in the shop is true vintage barbershop, the place is filled with his personal treasures and collections and Rob’s a great conversationalist, regardless if you are waiting or if he’s working on your hair.
Of course the most important part of the barbershop experience is the haircut, and the one I got was flawless, I’m looking forward to becoming a regular.

There is a reason he has been in business for so long! You need to check this place out if you are a guy who likes a proper haircut.

Great shop, Super cool Dude (Barber/​Owner) this place is awesome best shop in Dallas that i visited. I went in with crazy hair came out looking sharp. He knows how to really cut gentleman’s hair. This will be my go to shop from now on… thanks Rob.

Rockin’ barber. Tried something new after a decade of lame run-​of-​the-​mill haircut experiences. Rob was great– easy to talk to and did a great job, I’d highly recommend him. He’s got one barber chair and is appointment only, a great change from walking into a room full of 10 guys all getting their haircuts at the same time.

My husband and I just moved to Dallas a few months ago and I never realized how difficult it would be to find a great new barber. We tried a few others who had good reviews on Unilocal,but none really got the job done. Luckily, I found out about Rob from barbers at the classic Avenue Barbershop in Austin and I haven’t turned back.
Rob has a great sense of style– his cuts and fades are precise and he even makes his own products. The single chair shop lets you know you’re some place special and the personal care he takes with each customer is really clear.

Once you go to Rob’s you will feel underserved at any other barber shop! He seriously makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in. His shop has the best style, ultimate mans getaway. While waiting for your appointment, you can check out his book/​magazine collection, his barber shop antiques, posters, and more. He will fix you up and will not rush you out for more money, he will do whatever you need!
I got a fade and it was perfect. Service and experience all was perfect. Rob is a 3^rd generation barber and makes his own hair products too, so this guy knows what he is doing.
If you are a guy needing a gentleman’s cut or just want a top notch cut, go to Rob’s! (Without ladies of course, don’t be a turd and being girls knowing that’s it’s meant for guys only!)

Great, classic barber shop. Has cold beer in the fridge and great music as well. Rob’s been in the game for 20+ years so he knows what he’s doing. It was my first time there (I just moved to Dallas) so right as I sat in the chair, he took a moment to study how my hair fell. Top notch hair cut from a top notch barber. Keep the girlfriends and wives at home though as it is a men’s shop. Will definitely be going back for my cuts in the future.
There’s even a house shoe shiner. His name is Randy, if I remember correctly. He’s got jokes and stories for days so you have some entertainment while you’re getting your cut.
Check this place out. You’ll be glad you did.

Best haircut in years. I screwed up and arrived a week early for my appointment and Rob accommodated me. The place is a great place to relax without all the frills of another place. Rob knows how to cut hair and that is the most important thing in my book.

Even though I wasn’t happy with how my beard was trimmed, Rob went out of his way to compensate me. He did not charge me for the beard trim and he also tried his best to fix his mistake. Even though I wasn’t happy with the end product I still left him a 20% tip just for his dedication to customer service.

Just moved downtown and needed a cut, what I found was a great little one chair barber shop just a short train ride away! Loved the atmosphere and the decoration, nice discussion among those waiting. But most important, Rob gave me a great haircut. I had a mop of hair that hadn’t been cut for months and left with a great new do that looked professional. He added in a little pomade and I was set.
Definitely call ahead for an appointment, I had to wait after my designated appointment time but the place was so cool and customers so friendly I didn’t mind at all. If you’re in a hurry this isn’t the place for you. Each person was given as much time as needed and treated like an old friend.

Skilled Barber. Took care of my mop top and turned me into a handsome dude. It’s refreshing to have an old school barber shop that caters to men only. No woman allowed allows you to wind down, relax and enjoy some beers without the worry of your girlfriend or wife lingering around.
Rob also keeps fine hair products of his own brand that I highly recommend. Rob’s is my go to barber as long as I’m in Dallas
