I go to the coffee shop next door quite a bit to work, and everytime I try to control myself from making a stop at The Shining… it’s just impossible. I absolutely love this store. It has the most unique jewelery… some of it is made by designers, others are vintage. What usually gets me is these vintage bracelet bundles they have. It’s usally 4 or 5 bracelets, all different vintage finds but they bundle them together and its always the perfect mix that look amazing together. And the best part… only $ 35 for the whole bundle! The jewelery made by different designers is amazing too. Very, very cool stuff and different than anything you would find at typical jewelery/accessory stores. The little taxidermy mice make me laugh… have you ever seen the movie«Dinner for Shmucks» with Steve Correll? Well I watched it(without earphones) on a plane once… no idea if the movies good, but there is a definite obsession with taxidermy mice… so I guess Steve’s character would love The Shining as well.

What a diamond in the rough. This place is in the«cooler» part of Dallas, and I must say it’s one of the stores that’s got the most characters. All the pieces are very unique and it’s not just all vampire teeth ornaments, like one might think from reading these reviews. Personally, I hate vampires(thank you Are You Afraid of the Dark). It’s just not a trend I’ve been able to sink my teeth into… ha ha. ha. But they have tons and tons of other stylish goodness. I love their claws(I’m not sure if they were Pamela Love or just inspired-by…) and leather wrap snake bracelets. The owner also gave me some great tips on bars to go to around Dallas! Definitely a very friendly place with a cute shabby chic layout.

This new indie jewelry boutique if perfect for anyone who’s interested in finding unique pieces(think vampire teeth or bird’s heads…) that you won’t be able to find anywhere else in Dallas. I bought an adorable dainty unicorn necklace but the store has a wide selection of items that it’s sure to have something you might like.

Small store filled with treasures! Tonight was the grab opening an judging by how quick the glittering items flew off the shelves, it was a success! I got a wonderful birds head ring for only $ 10! I did see some fantastic dainty vampire teeth rings and necklaces that I know once the Twilight crowd hears about them, they’ll be gone!

Jewelry lovers — you have a brand new shopping venue. The Shining is a jewelry boutique that carries a lot of unique pieces, namely because they house independent and obscure jewelry lines that are not readily available in the Dallas area. If you want a piece different from everyone else’s jewelry: this is the place to go. The prices are reasonable, but even so, I bet I could spend an entire pay check in here in one visit. Therefore, I am imposing an allowance on myself whenever I decide to go here next. The owner, Vicki, is super friendly and obviously loves what she’s doing. She’s also Texan — so support you locals. Plus, she opened her store on Friday the 13th — so home-girl’s got some cajones Awesome jewelry. Good prices. Cool owner. Gold.
