Broken pumps as others have mentioned, one cancelled transaction after CC approved. Slightly higher than average prices. Only plus: easy access off I-30 Sylvan, both on and off.

This is the WORST gas station in Dallas! Pumps malfunction all the time and the credit card readers at the pump NEVER work. The people inside are not friendly or helpful. The only reason I come here is that it is close to my house. Never again! I would rather drive out of my way than give them my business!

Have you ever been in a situation where you’re stuck in rush hour. And you realize a couple of life-altering challenges that can make or break your day: 1.) oh no! I’m red-lining it! Lord, please don’t let me run out of gas! Nooooo!!! 2.) why do I gotta pee rt now? At the crossroads of these two unfortunate scenarios in one of the most unfortunate places(sitting in rush hr traffic), an immediate decision must be taken or you’ll end up with an empty tank on the side of the road while having soiled pants… A terrible double-wammy combo. [I donno bout you, but if that happened to me. I’d be pretty ‘pissed’ off.] Anyways, I scour the earth searching near and far, desperately looking for a welcoming oasis anywhere!(Of course, my phone is loading up the different gas stations. Rt as i pass them.) As I run into this oasis, I am met by a door that is «locked by a code!» After getting the winning numbers, I was met by the absolute dirtiest restroom I’ve seen in a while — possibly ever in the U.S. Of A… It looked like SuPOOman’s hidden cave: from yellow lemonade on the ground, sticky icky floors, chocolate butter on the seat… To a horrid stench that even the muppet that lives in a trashcan wouldn’t be able to stand.(Smell was so bad, I could still smell it when I was back in my car…) I’m sure the owner and store are probably fine… But come on! Go at your own risk!

BADFUEL !! After filling up with regular 89 octane at this gas station my car started acting up and not run smooth and check engine light started coming on. The fuel was dirty or contaminated with water. After syphoning the fuel and refueling at another station and using fuel treatments the car is back in shape.

Breakfast tacos here are right on point… I get 5 of them to go FOR $ 6, and when I get to work I am getting attacked for these things. The Mexicans at my place of employment are asking ME «El Gringo» where I get these things… that should say something right there. The salsa Verde is, I think, the best i have had in Oak Cliff and I grew up here! I have never had any of the regular tacos here so I cant/wont write about them just yet but I will grab some here in the next couple of weeks. WELLWORTHIT!!!

Don’t get me wrong, the tacos are okay here. However, there’s never been a time I’ve come to this place without being jacked-up for money from some panhandler! And the management doesn’t care about that at all. Extremely annoying! There are only a couple of bar-type stand-up & eat tables here, so you’re probably going back to you car(read: stinky taco car) to eat. Or perhaps you gave enough money to one of the panhandler you can share a table with him. I’m all for eating great food at «dives», but the whole gas station experience thing is a turn-off. This place, and Fuel City. It’s just kind of gross. With Taqueria El Si Hay just 3 blocks up the street, there is no reason to torment yourself with this place!

I live up Sylvan from this little spot in the gas station, so I’ve sampled their goods MANY times. The breakfast tacos are the main attraction here. Their green sauce is some of the best around and goes particularly well with the eggs. 5 Stars for Breakfast. Great flour tortillas for the breakfast tacos! Rest of the day is more pedestrian, but if you live in the area or are heading west on I-30, its a quick place to get a 3 star bite.

Some friends wanted to stop by here on Halloween as they had heard raves about the tacos. I ordered two fajita with flour tortillas and doctored them up with green sauce(WOW, that was good!). I thought they were pretty good but wouldn’t rank them as worth driving over here to have… more like if I was in the neighborhood and hungry I would get one. My friends ordered the tamales and could not say enough good things about them, they were raving about them hours later, so maybe next time I will try those!

In the ever expanding world of gas station dining, I must give a shout out for the taqueria in the back of the Valero on Sylvan. We were out looking at houses yesterday, and after spending 4 hours hopping from place to place, spanning Lakewood, to Oaklawn, to Kessler Park, we had one more to see and hadn’t had lunch. We didn’t have time for lunch, but as we came to the corner of I-30 and Sylvan, we noticed the Valero so decided to pop in for at least a soda to tide us over. After we got out of the car, I noticed the elotes stand out front, and immediately began scanning the premises, hoping I had lucked into a taqueria. Found it! Inside the mini-mart to the rear on the left. There was one woman manning a grill with good smelling things simmering in pots and lots of meat sizzling away. Being close to dinner by this time, we opted for a snack, and each had two tacos — one chicken and one beef fajita, though the selection here was extensive, including barbacoa, chicharones, lengua, pastor, nopales, etc.(Actually, it may be the first place I have seen the nopales.) Each were the requisite two small corn tortillas with generous meat portions, onion, cilantro, lime, with salt and hot sauce at the counter. Great flavor! Not as greasy as some, but truly well flavored meat! Washed it down with an orange Fanta to complete the true street taco experience and we were out in 15 minutes. Beats the heck out of Taco Bell any day of the week! If you are over there for any reason, give ‘em a go! I am trying very hard to not let the proximity to the taqueria influence my house hunting decision…
