You know, it has been many years since I saw this man. I found him to be the most arrogant, insufferable doctor I have ever met. He treated me like I was his little sister — belittling my every complaint. I was in ICU at the time and I didn’t know what was up. I have thought about him a lot over the years. Unilocal wasn’t around in those days but if it had been I would have given him a negative if I could.

I am now also a patient of Dr. Bowstead’s as well as my mom. I can’s say enough for the level of care you receive with him. He tells it like it is and that’s how I like things handled. He was eager to try to help me figure out how my horrible allergies are affecting my lungs and bronchial tubes. After seeing him I feel encouraged that I will get answers to the health puzzles I’m experiencing. The office is very busy & they only have 1 staff member working the front desk. The lack of staff can pose challenges for patients who are expecting things to be done in a rush. I would like to see them hire an additional staff member to help the office run more smoothly.

I took mom to see Dr. Bowstead today. She and I had a tiff during the appointment about whether smoking causes emphysema(!!!) and the doctor was extremely patient and kind. He saw us promptly and spent a lot of time asking questions, listening, and explaining. My mother’s lung problems are very serious and I’m so relieved to have found a pulmonary doc who’s so knowledgeable, compassionate… and good-humored.

As long as you’re in the staff’s good graces, you’ll be treated well. If not, be prepared for long waits — in the waiting room and then in the examining room. They cater to the geriatric crowd who is generally thankful for ANY attention. It could be that the elderly show so much deference(even though they are the paying customer and SHOULD get proper service), that anyone who is less than groveling, pales by comparison and is not treated with as much care or consideration as a result. In terms of the doctor, the staff reflects his lack of ability for compassionate care towards anyone not falling apart from age. Some might say I sound angry but the reality is that I worry about anyone with a minor health issue getting the wrong diagnosis because they are dismissed as «otherwise healthy».
