My front headlight went out and I made it here before the sun went down. I purchased my bulb and the sales rep said they were unable to assist in changing light bulbs when the sun goes down. I understood where he was coming from as they are solely sales reps and as the sun goes down it does make conditions to change a lightbulb more difficult, especially on my Mazda 3. However I was skeptical of driving home with one lightbulb out, especially with DC cops around. The sales rep ended up taking time out to help get my lightbulb switched out, which proved to be more difficult than we initially thought. I’m very appreciative of his and the rest of the team’s assistance. Thanks guys!

Poor customer service, i went buy to drop recycled oil but was told, we dont accept oil. just like that…

I come here all the time when I need to buy car parts because they guarantee the lowest prices. I hope it’s true of else I wasted a lot of money. Everyone in the store is pretty knowledgeable about cars if you don’t include this one weird guy who doesn’t know anything and this one guy who was too lazy to give me a refund because he was too lazy to look up my account (lost my receipt). I got a lot of tips when I was asking about changing my transmission oil and my brake pads. I love watching youtube videos of people changing their brakes, but I can’t ask them any questions.

I dont know why theres so many bad reviews. from my experience these guys were generous and helpful. they got jokes too. i think its just some of you customers thats giving all this «bitching».

So, I came and got a battery charged, that I bought at this spot a few months back for my 2000 Mustang. When I get there, the service is good friendly, and of course assisted me with the charging. They said to come back in an hour, and we’ll see from there if the battery is good or bad. I come back and it is bad. I couldn’t afford to pay another $ 100 dollars for a battery that died only 4 months in it’s life. From my ride that I really never drove. The cashier helping me, was very kind, and talked to me about my situation. He offered the warranty exchange, which was going to save my life. He knew the battery was from that same Exact location. It turns out my number wasn’t in the system, and of course I didn’t have my receipt. He was willing still to help me out but had to call his Assistant Manager. As soon as he came he was the most rudest, cruel, peice of shit bastard with no remorse. He said straight up, no recepit, no name no warranty. I understand it’s a business. But He was the biggest asshole for no fucking reason. I asked them if since my battery was charged for an hour, will at least work temp. He said no, why did u come in here, because your car wasn’t working right, Buy a new one. I already knew he wanted his money, because I already had batteries charged in the past, and they worked for a little while. I left with my old battery, and it turned out my car did start. Point blank, that peice of shit Assistant manager is the biggest asshole. In all the times I’ve been to Kragen, even if we dissagreed I was never treated like that/​Fuck that punk bitch. I called him afterwards, and told him my car did start, and to get his fucking facts straight, he didn’t say shit.

I called this place asking them to confirm availability of a part. The person that was working with me over the phone confirmed that they have the part in stock according to their system. After repeated attempts at asking them to physically confirm availability of the part, they hung up on me. I give them two stars because they actually had a part in stock that I wanted to get, but otherwise after several clear attempts at requesting basic inventory information, they were very rude to me.

I used to really like this place before it was taken over by Kragen’s. But now the workers seem disinterested in actually being helpful. I watched a lady ask about a part (she obviously had no clue about cars) and the parts guy was very condescending. Give me a break! Not everyone knows about cars!
What’s worse is that no one knows where to go to purchase your stuff!!! Do we go to the parts counter or the register where no one is manning the front? And is there one line or two or more at the parts counter? We’re all standing there looking at the parts guys and each other left wondering where to stand and wait?
Kragen, the parts counter should be for «PARTS». When you are done, we, the customer, should take our parts to the cashier so we can pay for them. Instead, if we know what parts we want we have to wait in a long slow line at the parts counter to check out! WTF!!! Get your heads out of your «tail pipes» and get organized! I’m heading to Auto Zone…

I bought 4 packs of those extra bright light bulbs because they were on sale. It was expensive and the only way to get money back was through a rebate. Err, I hate those things because you end up forgetting to mail it in or somehow they just blow you off. I wish they will just give you the savings up front. –2 Stars for that because I ended up not getting my rebate and one of the bulbs blew in less than a month. The only items I buy here is Synthetic Motor Oil, 0 – 5 (it’s very hard to find) for my gas saver hybrid. The service is decent. I am not going to bad mouth workers because they’ve actually been helpful.

Great Customer Service from Arun. I went there today and Arun (The employee) went out of his way (went outside) to see if my car really needs a new gas cap. He went out there taked to me, showed me and explained what I needed and don’t need. I am a Customer FOR LIFE! in there store. Thanks to Arun! Great Employee! and Customer Service is superb!
I am usually intimated going to auto parts store cause of lack of knowledge on mechanical things regarding cars. But no more. Kragen Auto Parts in Skyline is The Best! Cuz of There Employee (Arun), makes it easier for us to shop.

Excellent customer service, don’t know what other reviewers where writing about. Some of the employees don’t know a lot about cars but one in particular knew a great deal. «V» took the time to explain to me about the part i needed and even told me where I could get it cheaper if I wanted to. I was so satisfied with the service I decided to pick it up right there. Kragen definitely has a customer for life now.

Seriously, this place is terrible. I stopped expecting auto parts store employees to actually know anything about auto parts decades ago, so my standards are not particularly high in any regard, but this place is run by absolute morons who don’t even know how to operate their own registers.
I went in at 8:45-ish to get a spark plug gapper and a socket extension. Girl behind the counter doesn’t know what either one of these things are and she’s too busy talking to her friend on the phone to care, so I find them myself. It was nearly closing time and I was in a hurry, so I ended up grabbing the wrong size socket extension in my haste.
Went back in today to exchange it and there’s a line of about six people waiting to get to the one operational register. I go and grab the right item and wait my turn. Once I reach the counter, Apu (I’m not being racist, his name really was Apu) tells me he can’t do an exchange; I have to go to the parts counter for that. Of course, there’s nobody at the parts counter, so I go stand in yet another line.
And why is there a line at the parts counter? Because 12 year old Nivek can’t find the part another customer is asking for despite the fact that he was sent there by another Kragen store several miles away who told him they had it in stock. After listening to this argument for another five minutes, I decided I’d had enough and told Apu – who was now just standing there doing absolutely nothing – that I was taking the 3/​8″ extension whether he wanted to process the exchange or not.
«Oh! Is same price?!»
«You tell me, it’s your store.»
«Oh! Okay! Any-​teeng else?»
«Fuck you.»

I don’t know what all these other reviewers are talking about, this place has outstanding customer service, knowledge, and are basically all around great people. Sam really went out of his way to help us find the parts we needed that they didn’t have at their store, and some of the guys behind the counter had some really good advice and tips.
This Kragen is actually a bit out of my way, but the trip is worth it – from now on I will only go here.

Why would this place employ such a**holes???
You don’t really expect great service at an auto parts place (sad huh) but this place is THE WORST I’VE EVER HAD.
I go to an auto parts store because I need an auto part — not to be judged or laughed at for what I am buying — what brand or what the price for the product is.
KRAGEN YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF FOR YOUR EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Sunny Tuesday morning, pimp parking at the very front, walk in and no customers, 2 service people to help me… «i need to purchase windshield whipers and the best brand spark plugs»
First impression: DULL customer service
Service guy behind the counter gives me my options betweenn brands and i choose the best brand for both. leaves me at the counter and i ask «i will need help putting my windshield wipers do you think you can help me»
Second impression: yes he will help you (looks at second guy behind counter)
We go to my car and he takes off the warped windshield whipers and replaces them with the new one. he takes the old ones off and asks me «do you want to keep these»
Third Impression: why in the world would i want to keep some beat-​up old windshield whipers? does he think i have an antique collection at home or something?
I respond with No and give him the new blades. He throws the old blades towards the garbage (literally) three feet away, misses, and leaves them there on the sidewalk.
Forth impression: Are you kidding me?
As i throw away the packaging of the new windshield wipers i pick up the old blades laying on the side walk HE THREW and tossed them in the garbage.
Fifth Impression: lazy F&#$, you don’t even know how to aim!!!
Price: kind of expensive but better then Honda dealerships
Service: have my wipers and spark plugs!
Customer service: eh

Came here to buy oil filter and oil. I had in my hands 5W30, but the guy behind the counter suggested I use 10W30. My mechanic said I don’t need that for a while since I only have 80,000 miles on my car. If you work at Kragen, doesn’t that mean you know something about cars? Even the basics like type of oil etc? Thanks for helping me out losers.

On the contrary, I thought the service here was quite okay. Apparently they give you 10% off items if you place your order by phone when calling them beforehand. This happens with some items and you want to make sure you mention this.
I’ve never really had a problem with finding items for my car, and the guys here are pretty cool at giving you help when they’re free. And that’s the problem, unlike other Kragen’s it takes awhile to get help here as they seem like all other businesses during this economic downturn: being understaffed.
