The owner basically robbed me tonight. I got a pizza that probably spent all of two minutes in the oven and the dough was so raw that I’m getting sick as I write this review. Nobody should have to pay for food that is inedible. I would have happily sent it back and gotten a refund on this pizza that I only ate three bites of. The owner said he was going to send someone to get it but then when the representative from GrubHub called him he got upset and refused to offer any reimbursement whatsoever.

Decided to give this a try however I probably should have read the reviews first, Pizza was sloppy and all the topping came off — Seems really cheap ingredients are used too. Ended up throwing it out needless to say this will be my first and last take out from here.

Me and my husband went to Basilico for Valentine’s Day. We drove from the Bronx, NY just to enjoy their food. It was worth driving 60 miles. The food and service was amazing. I would definitely go there again. Amazing food!!!

I order here on a regular basis. The food is always hot and tasty! I usually get the the caprese pizza(slightly better than the margarita), arugula salad, baby spinach salad, zucchini sticks, eggplant rollatini, eggplant dinner, fettuccini alfredo, cannolis, and the list goes on. I have never been disappointed by the service for delivery or pick-up. Delivery only takes awhile if you order a lot of food, but it always satisfies! I always order a lot of food for leftovers, but the food is so good there are usually no leftovers! Helpful tip: The mozzarella sticks are usually undercooked. I asked for them extra crispy, but still only slightly crispier. Maybe the oil isn’t hot enough when they put the stix in the deep fryer? I don’t know but I hope they get the recipe right!

Pizza is very good, but be advised about delivery nightmares and owners level of customer service! We called and placed a delivery order at 5:53pm and they read back our address correctly to confirm, we get a call from the delivery guy at 7pm saying he is lost. It is now 7:15pm. We call back the delivery guys number and now we have his father is yelling at us. Apparently, the delivery guy went home with our food before finally arriving. We then call the pizza place back and question where our food is. The food finally arrives an hour and a half later. The pizzeria fought us on discount and threatened to take the food back. After much arguing, they gave us approx 50% off for ice cold pizza. The receipt also had the wrong address.

Disrespected! After being a regular patron of Basilico for well over two years, but away this past year, I go back to the restaurant to try to raise donations for American Cancer Society’s Relay for life and am treated not only like I and my family have never eaten there, but that it is some kind of scam. I am battling cancer right now and wear a mask and gloves, does that seem like a scam? Embarrassed to say the least, I just said thanks and left. For me, any small business that treats good customers as we were and intended to be again, doesn’t deserve my business! There are a number of good Italian restaurants in the area… they now are not one of them. Avoid if you can! Thanks!

I’ll never order from here again. Almost 2 hours to deliver a pizza. When I called the restaurant, the person who answered said«it’s not here, so I assume it’s gone out.» When it finally arrived, it was ice cold.

I went here for the first time for a family dinner and the service was absolutely superb. There was 15 – 20 of us, and the food was served quickly and hot(and at the same time!) the service was attentive and incredibly friendly. We ordered a variety of the meals, chicken dishes, shrimp dishes, etc. and every single person was happy and full! I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone for dine in, take out, or delivery!

A reliable, friendly local gem of a place. Daily special is the best value in CT with a bottle of wine, entrees & salad for under $ 40! Linguine with clam sauce is hugely filled with fresh clams & rich olive oil. Chicken parmigiana is my husband’s favorite with a really tasty homemade red sauce. Don’t miss Basilico… it’s the neighborhood secret!

My wife and I ate here for the first time this past weekend. The food was very good, the portion was very generous, we had the left over for lunch the next day. The service was also good. We will be back for sure.

Very disappointing customer service! I made an online order for delivery asking for a salad with grilled chicken and no onions. However, the salad I received was missing the chicken and had onions in it. I didn’t even get upset until I called the restaurant. Instead of apologizing and sending my food immediately, the guy on the phone told me it will take a LONGWHILE for my chicken to get to me. He said the place is very busy. Clearly fixing their mistakes is NOT the place’s priority. P. S. As I am writing this review an hour later I am still hungry!

This rating is for their complete ineptness regarding what«gluten free» means. We ordered a gluten free bacon chicken ranch pizza. When we got it home, we learned that they placed BREADED chicken cutlet on a gluten free crust. Huh? When we called, they said«some people order it that way?» Worse, a «gluten free baked ziti pizza» had regular pasta on a gluten free crust. You must be kidding me. They clearly are clueless about GF foods. Celiacs and GF intolerant folks beware!

It’s a shame I have to give Basilico a bad rating because I used to really like their pizza and customer service, but after what happened this past weekend, my views on them completely changed. Four of us were meeting four others for dinner at Basilico, but didn’t have reservations because a few of us were invited last minute. We walked in and saw a few vacant tables next to our waiting group, so it didn’t seem like much of a problem to pull a smaller table over to join the other four people. We asked the one waitress that was working their dinner service if it was possible for us to pull it over, even if we did it ourselves to give her a hand. We were then lectured that we should’ve made a reservation if it was going to be over four people and that it gets busy on Friday nights and they only had one waitress working etc. It went on for a good minute. Eventually she gave in, had it cleaned off and moved over right next to our friends’ table. We looked over the menu and my friend and I decided we’d split a large pizza in half getting two different toppings, and for $ 9 a piece, who wouldn’t want to? We ordered half shrimp scampi pizza and half vodka margherita pizza. My buddy who ordered the vodka margherita half doesn’t eat pork, and neither did the girl who sat next to him since she’s a vegetarian, but they both ordered it, just a note. The pizza came out and even though the shrimp scampi side I ordered looked a little bland, it tasted pretty good. The big problem I have with Basilico’s pizza is that it’s always too soupy to me, or the crust is too greasy/soggy. It’s usually really good, but it’s tough to pick up without losing all of your toppings. About two bites in, the girl who also got the vodka margherita said she tasted something smokey, as if there were traces of bacon in the vodka sauce, my buddy also agreed with her. To prevent them from eating anymore of it, I took a slice and checked for bits of bacon, which seemed pretty prevalent in the sauce. The girl called the waitress over to ask whether meat was used in the vodka sauce since she couldn’t eat it and neither could my friend. The waitress walked away to grab a menu and came back reading over the contents of the vodka sauce listed in the menu, which included pancetta, but she read it from where the vodka sauce was listed in main entrees, not from the specialty pizza section that generically states«Vodka Sauce.» So basically, we were told that we should’ve done our research before ordering our pizzas. She even went back and forth with the girl when she asked that maybe next time it was more significant in the menu and not somewhere else that you’d have to dig for. The kicker ended up being the waitress asking 15 minutes after their argument if they wanted to exchange their pizzas for something else. The last straw came when we paid the bill. I paid cash and didn’t think the service was too great, especially with the waitress having an attitude and with all the mishaps that went down, so I didn’t tip well which is something I don’t normally do often, but I left a tip nonetheless. It was a shared bill and all of us except one person pulled their own weight on what they had, but most sided with what I did and left a lower than average tip. Two people didn’t tip at all, which made us look bad(the people that paid cash) since the rest of the bill was being pulled from our expense and not going towards what we wanted it to. The waitress walked over and looked at the bill on the table for the tip before even picking it up, then said out loud«The service was that bad that you only left a $ 4 tip?» and walked away. Regardless of how low the tip was, anybody on the wait staff should really never do that, ESPECIALLY in front of a crowd of customers. It’s rude, inconsiderate, and downright unprofessional. I almost felt sympathetic when I left my tip because I’m not that bad of a tipper ever, but after that moment, my mind switched gears. I won’t be back to Basilico ever, not even for take-out.

They deliver! And in a place like New Fairfield, where not many places deliver, this is a gem! I wish I could give 3.5 stars… the place isn’t stellar but it’s not bad either. It’s middle of the road. We had shrimp scampi, pizza, a salad, and a caprese panini. The shrimp scampi had all pasta, no shrimp… I get not wanting give out too much shrimp, but get the smaller shrimp and put more in so I at least«feel» like I’m getting more! The pizza was quite good. The salad was fine. The panini was not melted at all and soggy. I know I did takeout so the panini might get a bit soggy BUT there’s no reason it shouldn’t be melted. It is a panini after all. I haven’t actually had them deliver so I can’t comment on their delivery. I didn’t realize that they offered delivery until I got there and was told! The inside of the restaurant has two rooms, one with the counter and a few tables and the other with all tables. Very simple and understated but clean! I’d definitely go back and get another pizza and definitely give it another try.

If its one thing Connecticut has an over abundance of, it’s Italian restaurants and pizza! Basilico falls in on the top half of those options, and the fact that they offer delivery is a huge plus! My one and only delivery experience is where my rating comes from, and I am definitely going to try it again and will modify appropriately. The food was four stars all day, very tasty. In fact, probably one of the better pizzas in the area. We got two personal pizzas, an awesome deal of you’re eating for one or if everyone can’t agree on toppings. One pie was a margarita; fresh basil, tomato, and big slices of mozzarella… The second pie was supreme; sausage, hot peppers, sweet peppers, onions, and mushroom… Super fresh, super tasty! And the sauce… was pretty, pretty good! The BBQ chicken wings were delicious too, moist and crispy, not overly fried, and no lingering freezer taste. The deserts were good too, basic NY style cheese cake and cannolis at only two bucks per desert. So why just the three stars? Because the delivery literally took 100 minutes. We ordered at 7:00, and it didn’t arrive until literally 8:45… It was cold, but two minutes in the microwave and we were ready to eat! If my next order comes quickly, then I expect my rating of Basilico to go up to four stars!
