Anchor Down RV Resort

One word — CLASSY! Anchor Down is by far one of the classiest and most beautiful campgrounds we have stayed at in our 20 or so years of RVing. From the moment you drive in to the beautifully manicured entrance, stop at the exceptional office to register and pull into your wide, paved, manicured site you are in awe of this first class facility. We stayed in a buddy site ¹⁶⁴⁄₁₆₅ that overlooked the playground and the lake. Absolutely beautiful. Nice large fireplace between the sites. Level, stamped, painted and sealed pad with river rock between sites. The roads are extremely wide and make maneuvering a breeze. Wide sites so you are not awning to awning with your neighbor make this a special place. We were there for thanksgiving so the pool was closed. But could tell it was first class and situated with a beautiful view of the lake. Bathhouse is really nice. Each room in the bathhouse your own bathroom with private shower, sink, toilet and dressing area. Obvious a lot of thought was put into the design. Firewood is delivered to your site with only a call necessary. Bringing our dog? Make sure you bring the rabies certificate not just the tag with you. A lot of places say you need this, but none ask for a copy. At Anchor Down they do. Be forewarned. Although lake level was down due to time of year there is a nice boat ramp and floating dock with jet ski slips in the marina. We highly recommend Anchor Down. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought and money into the design and the facilities. While a bit pricy it does keep the riff raff out and you definitely get what you pay for. We will return again and again.

Million dollar views! There is not a bad spot in the place! This is the best resort that we stay in. The owners are so personable and accommodating. They genuinely love their patrons. I cannot say enough about this resort. If you live in the area or just visiting, it’s first class. You will not be disappointed from the time you check in to the time you check out. A must.

What a great place! My wife and I were overwhelmed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the quality and cleanliness of the facilities and amenities, and the cheerfulness and behavior of our campsite neighbors. All that, and the view of the Great Smoky Mountains across the lake is breathtaking! This RV park will *spoil* you forever, as in all likelihood no other subsequent experience you have will live up to it. Highly recommended!!!

I love this place!!! Just put a pool in and the bath house is brand new it’s also pet friendly so that is a plus. The staff is also very friendly. I recommend this place to everyone that has a camper it’s a great place to relax.

This has to be the nicest campground we have stayed at.
The nicest thing, besides the view, is that some sites have an outdoor fireplace.

Beautiful view of Douglas Lake. The fireplaces are different at each spot with ½ having fire pits. I happen to think spot #53 (ours) and #175 are the two best. I’ll post both pics so you see what I’m talking about.
They were super friendly when we registered. They have an ambassador available after the office closes. He was funny.
It’s quiet except for the turkey gobbling, the birds chirping, the boats humming along, and occasional friendly conversation from the other campers. I love it all.
I’m here for relaxation, so the beautiful fireplace and lake view are all I need.
But you are also only five miles to Sevierville, then a few more to Pidgeon Forge, and so on to Gatlinburg.
