Steve Gonsalves – State Farm Insurance Agent

Steve Gonsalves has been my agent for the past couple of decades. He insured my first house and then every house in Alameda. Since then, I have been doing business with State Farm through him for over 30 years. What I really liked most about his team is that, while I am sort of disorganized, his team calls me if I forgot to pay a bill or need to update something. I actually hate dealing with insurance and find it a boring requirement of ownership. So, they took the pain completely out of the process. They call me. They remind me. They never make me feel guilty (although I should feel that way). Mortgage companies often ask for proof of insurance and his assistant Roseanne does it in a snap for me.

Horrible service. Friendly enough, but they seem to lack attention to detail — not what I wanted in an insurance agent. Failure to communicate my insurance details to my mortgage company cost me time, stress and a lot of work to undo the $ 7000 insurance bill the company then imposed upon me. I only ever seemed to hear from the boss after I had cancelled a policy.
