History

Established in 2004.

Putah Creek Winery is Davis’ very own boutique winery. Estate-​grown grapes are hand– crafted into award winning wines that showcase the region. Our Estate vineyards are located between the active and ancient channels of Putah Creek, just south of Davis, California. Originating high in the Coastal Range and flowing to the east, Putah Creek has deposited an alluvial plain of high quality deep soils of the type the Davis area is famous for.

In 2004, Gene and Cathy Glaeser founded the winery with the intention of making quality wines from Davis grown grapes. They have owned and lived on their Davis ranch for over 30 years. Their first vineyards were planted in 1997, and three years later the grapes produced were sold to Napa and San Francisco bay area wineries. Since 2013, their legacy lives on through the work of French Tahitian Aggie alumnus Jessica Chin Foo, and Italian viticulturist and winemaker Diego Barison.
