Description

Specialties

Communitea is both a tea room & a café that specializes in teas, home baked goods, soups and sandwiches. We have the best scones in the land served with true clotted cream imported from England. We are open for dining through out the day and we also are available as an event venue. It is a perfect place to host a birthday party, wedding or baby shower, business meeting or any gathering of up to 30 people. We try to make sure there is always a gluten free and a vegetarian option for our dining guests. The décor is retro, with original hardwood floors and large sunny windows, vintage linens and china. It’s the perfect getaway for your busy

History

Established in 2014.

Communitea Café was opened in November of 2014 and is operated by it’s owner Dawn Thomas. The building with it’s large front windows was originally built as a small neighborhood grocery store and later years it was an antique store, it’s nestled among it’s Belmont neighbors. It’s always been her dream to have a place to entertain family and friends and to make strangers feel at home and Communitea is that dream come true. The building is a local treasure and familiar to most people in the area. The large front windows have always invited in passers by.

Business Owner

I am so happy to be able to introduce Communitea. I love people and have been a Realtor for many years and I carry the real estate designation of Dayton Ambassador. The beautiful little building that hosts Communitea is one that I loved since the early 1970’s, I saw the storefront every day while walking home from high school and have passed it weekly during my travels. To be able to open my business there was icing on the cupcake. My vision for Communitea is a unique concept, bringing together a literal community of people. I have invited small business entrepreneurs to feature their items and to promote their businesses.
