History
Established in 1976.
Kunesh Eye Center was founded in 1976 by Dr. Charles T. Kunesh, M.D.
It was the first medical practice in Dayton to build an ambulatory surgery center devoted solely to eye surgery. Since its opening in 1989, Kunesh Eye Surgery Center has performed over 33,000 eye surgeries. The center continues to grow and be innovative in the hands of Dr. Charles Kunesh’s three children, Dr. Kristine Kunesh-Part, Dr. Michael T. Kunesh and Dr. John C. Kunesh.

Business Owner
Dr. John C. Kunesh graduated from Alter High School and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame graduating with highest honors. He received his medical degree with honors from Ohio State University, graduating third in his class. He received numerous honors including election to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the Watman Achievement Award for academic excellence and the Eli G. Alcorn Award for top medical student in ophthalmology. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Ohio State University and was honored with the position of Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed a fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at Ohio State University. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Wright State University, where he teaches medical students. Dr. John Kunesh also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Ohio State University, serving as a surgical instructor at the Dayton VA Medical Center for the ophthalmology residents.
