Description

Specialties

Fine art photography in limited editions matted and framed. Using a Pentax 6×7 film camera, I hand print my photographs in a traditional wet darkroom.

I also offer custom framing. We have hundreds of moulding samples to choose from.

A ceramic studio shares the gallery space specializing in arts and crafts style custom house plaques, welcome plagues, wedding plaques, herb markers and tiles and trivets.

History

Established in 1991.

We began in 1992 doing fine art festivals. Both my wife and I had participated in festivals from around the country. We won numerous awards and in 1999 we decided to open our own gallery. We purchased the building next door to us and opened our first gallery in 2000. In 2001 we purchased this building, our currant home, and in 2007 renovated it and moved in. We continue to do fine art festivals and are thrilled to have our gallery and home base right here in Dayton.

Meet the Business Owner

Daniel P.

Business Owner

I am self taught photographer. I began photographing in 1984. I have been doing fine art festivals around the country for 22 years. None of my work is done using digital means. I use a Pentax 6×7 camera along with Ilford high-speed roll film. I am able to capture subdued low light scenes and still produce wonderfully detailed and textured prints. Solitude when photographing is essential to my process and the message of my images. Camera work is done without the distraction of helpers or assistants. Each photograph is hand printed. The black and white photographs are printed on Ilford paper. The color photographs are printed on Fuji paper.

Assistants employed at my gallery help to finish and display my work. Appropriate materials and display techniques are adapted to the print types, environments and requirements of the client or intended exhibition
