The ice cream did not have the quality I had expected.

I got a smoothie here and added acai berry. What a wonderful, refereshing drink on a beautiful day! What more can you ask for? Fresh ingredients, healthy scoops of fruit, and for it being in Del Mar, the price was quite affordable(5.85 with the added acai berry, 4.85 without).

Three because its not self serve and they don’t have a great selection of toppings or flavors. But they do have gelato!

Great place to get some ice cream after a hot day at the beach. There are a number of great places to eat dinner around this place… and this is the best place to get desert afterwords. Known for the gelato. but try the sour splash it is the best. see the colorful pic.

I recommend the pistachio gelato. Good view from the patio seating. Walking distance from Del Mar beach. Great place after a walk on the beach

Took my eight year old cousin here while we were visiting the area. She got a big ol’ scoop of chocolate ice cream and I got some gelato whose name I’ve forgotten now but it was vanilla with chocolate flakes. We must have liked our ice cream or something because we ate every last bite. The guy serving us was very nice. My cousin was glued to the TV they had, which was playing Pretty Little Liars and the guy turned it up so we could hear it. Very cute place and I was super stoked they offered both gelato and ice cream.

I got the frozen yogurt here with some friends a few weeks ago. We went pretty early and say this place was open so decided to check it out. Pros: very friendly service, nice and clean, outside seating, unlimited toppings for frozen yogurt Cons: expensive for what you get, not a lot of flavor in the frozen yogurt, small flavor selection(basically chocolate, vanilla, and one fruit flavor that I didn’t try) I probably wouldn’t go back here again because there are so many other places(like Golden Spoon) that have tons of great flavors for a similar or less expensive price. However, they serve ice cream and fancy coffee drinks as well so those might be worth a try.

Came in and tried their smoothies. I tried the mango one and the Acai berry one. these 2 are great! I reccommend the mango one as my favorite. I also tried the«popular» one that the owner said was great– the banana apple one — not so great — just generic in my opinion. The owner and the workers are friendly and the place was clean. Prices are ok — could be better in my opinion but I think seem to be within the normal going rate for smoothies.

Moosetracks ice cream. BOMB. The guys scooping the ice cream were sort of standoffish.

Came in for gelato, but ended up leaving with a double scoop of ice cream(cookies and cream and coffee chip) in a waffle cone. It was tasty, but then again, you’d have to try really hard to mess up ice cream. I get the concept of having everything yogurt, ice cream, and gelato… but if this place wasn’t in a convenient spot, I don’t know that I’d make a special trek here. It tasted just the same as any other ice cream stop and it was a bit pricey.

Very Clean and hip place to get gelato and watch the sunset… try the stratticiato(chocolate chip) gelato its amazing, so creamy and lots of flakes of chocolate!!! The guys that work here are reallly really nice too, they once let me take home a gelato sundae thing for free since we come in so often. I thought that was so sweet, just like all the treats they serve!!!

My family and I stopped here based on the reviews after lunch for some ice cream. Unfortunately our experience was far from anything as good as the prior reviews. In fact the differences were so extreme I actually wondered if it was the same location or if the ownership changed — I was told by the nice scooper it was the same place and same ownership. Well the only thing I can say is that when a sugar loving dessert eating 9 year old boy opts to throw away his ice cream after a mere 5 bites for having no flavor I need not say much more. I would give Sunset 1 star but the scooper working behind the counter was so nice. The ice cream is about as good as generic store bought brands. It is definitely not home made, and I would recumbent if you are craving ice cream to go to the market next door or go to a nearby grocery store.

Ice cream, froyo, and gelato, but not a single mint flavor? Gotta dock a point for that one…

$ 5.50 for medium sized yogurt. Hmmm? At first, I wasn’t too excited about that. But, it came w/unlimited toppings! This means that you can choose as many toppings you want. And, they ask if you want some toppings on the bottom of the cup! After our guy swirled the yogurt in the cup and turned around, we were astonished! The pomegranate yogurt was massive and I was really impressed(happy). If I had purchased this yogurt at a self-serve yogurt shop that charges by the ounce, it would have definitely been more than $ 5.50. They also have regular ice cream and gelato. Super cute ice cream shop, you should check it out! Location: Upstairs, to the left of Pacifica.

This yogurt shop is located in the Del Mar Plaza right next door to the Harvest Market and is easily accessible from the Market Level of the parking garage. We went right after sunset and the views from the patio were stunning. Not completely dark but just a little of the orange and pink still visible in sky. I can never tire from these SoCal sunsets. The décor here is very simple, nothing fancy… it’s a ice cream shop. Olivia helped us make our selection after sampling a few flavors of gelato and ice cream. In the end, we selected a small cup of Pomegranate Tart froyo to share. The price for a small was $ 4.50 but you got a lot. I still thought it was pricey for yogurt but being that we were sharing, it wasn’t a big deal. Afterall, we were in Del Mar. The pomegranate flavor was great and hit the spot for us. It was just the right amount of tart in there and the waffle cone that we got to crumble on top gave it the extra crunch I enjoy on my froyo. I’d definitely come here again. I still couldn’t eat an entire small by myself so the mini will work perfectly next time around.
