Sam was instrumental in me passing (and receiving an A) in Statistics. He can explain each subject in a way you can actually understand and he doesn’t bother with any of the unnecessary information that you really don’t need to know. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who needs a tutor.

Sam is the reason that my husband and myself got through our college programs. He is extremely kind and always takes care of his students. Sam fills in the wholes for many of the College of Business courses. He has been a secret weapon in the Greek community for years. You will get amazing hands-​on learning that finally makes sense! After your first course with Sam, you will want to take every class with him.

Wow, notice the term «PROFESSIONAL» in the name. I will once again highlight the fact that I wrote «sam is an extremely intelligent tutor» he truly does know so much about every subject.
Clearly i’m not the only student who left a comment insinuating that he is a tricky, money hungry tutor who really doesn’t care about his students (As seen below). Back in 2013, he truly did trick me with money. He never outlined the terms of our tutoring session. That’s why I recommended, in my Unilocal review, to make sure you obtain a contract or thoroughly discuss what you are paying for. I will forever stand by what i said in my 2013 review because it was a review of my experience in his tutoring sessions.
This summer I didn’t prepare for a Cost Accounting class as much as I should have and needed a tutor immediately. As many of the students know who are in accounting classes, there aren’t many tutors in Denton, TX that specialize in cost accounting. So I had to put together a list of pros and cons of going back to Sam, who I didn’t want to meet with again knowing that my experience was so bad the first time. I paid $ 450, paying for 10 sessions that are one hour and 15 minutes. This time Sam answered his phone a little less during sessions, which was nice. He didn’t have as many materials set up for my to practice as he did the first time, we mainly focused on what my professor could give me. I remember it was coming close to my final exam and I had a session with him and once I left I realized that he only met with me for 30 minutes. I kindly emailed him and mentioned that i noticed we only met for 30 minutes, so if it was okay if we could meet long for the next session so I can get just a few more minutes to study more for this important exam (if you need proof of how kind this email was message me and I’ll show you a screen shot). Thinking that he was the professional tutor that he says he is, i would get an email saying «Sure! not a problem» but all i got were defensive text messages telling me that, «when i spend more time with my students that goes completely unnoticed and i don’t even get a thank you» and also «sounds like you are complaining that we cut your time short» …“maybe you are not complaining but that is exactly what it sounds like”.
He responded aggressively, when i was merely stating the time we spent on a tutoring session. Meeting for thirty minutes is fine but when I’m respectfully asking if we could make the time up, which i paid $ 450 dollars for, that is not a complaint that is a CUSTOMER communicating their needs as a CLIENT of the Denton Professional Tutor. I’m paying for a service that YOU should be providing. Unfortunately, as I responded back to him, i would have hoped as a business service that Sam would be more open to communication if a client has specific needs or concerns.
The problem with Sam is that he cannot handle client issues well, instead of calmly discussing the issues of the student he quickly gets offended and responds aggressively. It took so much within me to stay after these messages I received for him but when I’m in desperate need of a tutor, which I clearly was, I had to stay and finish out the next couple of days. You didn’t help me with my confidence and hope, my confidence led me to believe that, with tutoring and extra study time, that I would be able to conquer this class. You helped me with my class, excel worksheets, SPSS and final exam. I’d also like to underline that I did NOT make a 90 on my final exam. Try to practice some client confidentiality, next time maybe don’t post word for word emails, discuss the class and professor I took.
Sam, take the chance to help yourself build as a tutor by these reviews rather than becoming easily offended. I came back because you know the subject, which I stated back in 2013, which I’m thankful for. However, i am not thankful for the way you treat students, your bad attitude, and your lack of client confidentiality (as shown below) which makes us feel less at ease. You should work on taking criticism and using it to improve your business with students.

Try Denton UNPROFESSIONAL Tutoring! Sam definitely knows his stuff but that doesn’t mean he gives an eff about his students. I have taken a couple of finance classes with him and I can honestly say that the only thing he cares about is MONEY! On numerous accounts he has rushed through sessions and hurries students out the door, answered calls during class, and refused to provide any other help outside of the group session! He is quick to take your money but nowhere to be found when you need help! I would definitely consider other options before signing up (ie: splitting with a friend) so he doesn’t completely screw you over. Also DO NOT purchase your test banks from him most of the time you can find them online cheaper than what he is charging. My last piece of advice is to work out a payment plan for the semester so that way if he isn’t doing his job you don’t have to go back and wont lose ALL your money. (* He doesn’t do REFUNDS as he ever so kindly has written on the welcome board right when you WALK IN! That should have been my first clue!)
Honestly, there are so many instances of unprofessional-​ism and shady business practices but ill just leave it at that! BEWARE!
