Description

Specialties

I provide instruction, tutoring, and mentoring in mathematics and physical science. My goal is to facilitate the understanding of these subjects for the undergraduate and college preparatory student. The cultivation of this understanding is essential for the possibility of a student achieving their goals in current and in future courses. While grades are very important to the student, if the material is not truly understood, high marks in a class do not necessarily translate into success in subsequent courses that build on the immediate lessons. I strive to help each student earn the grade they would like to achieve and also build foundations of good study skills that will help them throughout their academic careers.

Business Owner

My name is Charlie Browning. I have been a chemist for ten years and currently an ABD Ph. D student working with Dr. Mohammad Omary at University of North Texas. My specialization is in Inorganic Chemistry, but I taught or tutored general, organic, and inorganic chemistry, for 7 years. My research is the development of new solar technologies that will reduce the cost of cell construction in the future. As an undergraduate, I did research in theoretical chemistry with Dr. Angela Wilson at UNT, but after graduation and doing laboratory work for a few years, I found I prefer the «hands on» work of synthesis and instrumental analysis. Before I plunged into chemistry fully as an undergraduate, I was a tutor for the Intro to Logic course at UNT. In high school, I worked with students needing help with math to pass the assessment test to graduate in Texas. I still remember seeing the «Eureka!» on a classmate’s face when he understood the concept of sine as a ration. It makes me feel so good!
